My PERFECT Keyboard - Ducky ONE 2 SF (65%)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 1 окт 2024
- After using the Ducky One 2 SF for the past few weeks, I've concluded this is my perfect keyboard for gaming and editing. The form factor is not traditional but the extra set of individual keys on the right gives me all the functionality of a TKL board, but at a much smaller footprint.

This one is pretty nice, if my current logitech ever breaks I think this will be my next layout. Mini would be way too much though, it's pretty much exclusively for gaming, lack of arrowkeys would be crippling in many productivity tasks.
How often do you use the F keys? All the time! While I don't often need help, F1, any more, I frequently use F2 to rename files or edit spreadsheet cells. If a browser window times out, F5 to reload it, baby! Some games use either F10 or F12 to do a screen grab. All htat without even touching on the Ctl, Shift, and Alt combinations. Function keys master race!
Every tech RUclipsr sponsored by keyboard manufacture: "I found my perfect keyboard" each few months.
Yep
It's from Taiwan!! I bought ducky one 2 80% a few weeks ago.
That Lian li ol11 xl advertising though was good holy moly Lian li would have gone mind blown with that concept :)
3:13 the keycap has "pig" written on it. presumably for 2019 Chinese zodiac "Pig Year"
I code, and use F-keys all the time. Deal-breaker for me. ☹️
Theres a tkl version : )
Programmer here as well - I couldn't live without home and end keys (for selection within a line)
drop ctrl. I code and game. its perfect.
If you code, this kind of keyboard is like learning VI... Once you get used to the new modifier key (fn) there's no going back.
This is why I like the 75% form factor (basically a 65% with a row of F keys on top). Unfortunately it's not that common.
And personally I really like mapping home, end, pgup, and pgdown to Fn+arrow keys. As you're often quickly switching between using those navigation keys and the arrows (i.e., jump to the end of a line with end but then move back a few spaces because what you wanted to edit was near but not *at* the end), once you get it used to using them like this it's actually *faster* than moving your hand between the arrows and navigation keys on a TKL. And if the Fn key is to the right of the spacebar you can still do this all one-handed on a 65% or 75%, by having three fingers on the arrows and hitting Fn with your thumb.
@HardwareCanucks Man... I am following your channel. I like you. But when you say "When was he last time you actually use the F1 through F12 keys?", suggesting it's useless, you hurted me. First time I do not agree with your points. Ha! Ha! I think many people, not only coders, hobbyists or engineers always use them, but even basic Windows users use the F5 to refresh pages in Chrome or file explorer, ALT-F4 to quit and application, F1 for help, etc. And these people will certainly appreciate to use the same keyboard for all (gaming, coding, working, etc.)

Never using F1 - F12 keys ?? Seriously ?? Are you even a Gamer and PC Enthusiast...even the moment starting up your PC you MAY be using it, entering the BIOS ?? Hello ??? Well we used to use F8 to enter Safe Mode, but seems like Windows 10 make things lot more difficult for us now...there are ton of uses and times when we need to use F1 - F12 this is why I'm still using a TKL....especially in some games the F1 key is a hotkey and I tend to spam it A LOT !
You don't expect me to hold down FN key and spam " 1 " now would you....what if I need to use " 1 " at that same time ??
And those are some noisy PBT caps....most PBT caps I used are quiet as hell compared to ABS...those sounded more like ABS lol. This is just my experience.
ABS tend to make lot more noise for some reason or least the caps I've used so far. I've only owned 1 Ducky board so far, but their original caps are rather shitty....even that they are Double Shot ABS....and mine was the Year of the Monkey.
I'm now using USB numeric Keypad as my daily driver...much smaller LOL...like 25% hahaha...Joke asides, TKL the best choice for gamers.....those ducky keyboards suits if you have dedicated full size keyboard, and going to switched to those ducky when you're gaming and vice versa ( this why detachable cord is useful, you can easily swap).
These keyboards are just not for me
I prefer a keyboard keyspreading me

Hehe. It was surreal. He said "this is the XL I'm looking for'. No idea on blowing on the screwdriver and mouse. Maybe that the case is well made? Can't be blown? 😕
Yeah his ads are sometimes very confusing and didn't really have any meaning to the products. And if it does I just don't see it and that is bad for an ad.

Literally the only reason for me to not get 65%.
@@tockar yeah i ended up getting a logitech one, loved the 65% concept but i cant live without the F keys
I love my F keys, how else will I Alt F4?
It it possible. Alt-FN-4 is the command. It won't work if you press FN before Alt.
@@samuelviden7412 just seems a an over simplified keyboard that actually complicates it's intended use...
@@HarryL2020 It's mainly a gaming keyboard, I agree. Key feel and stabilizers are best in class, though. Typing is sublime.
@@samuelviden7412 yeah they definitely have their advantages, like being able to easily carry it with you. But for a main PC I just can't justify having such a small keyboard.
@@samuelviden7412 Not really, it is suitable for any work. F-keys are even faster to hit because they are closer than normal. I use that keyboard (non SF version) for typing and programming everyday, if anything, it makes you faster. Because it is faster getting used to 1 extra key, just for the distance that will be saved on each "exotic" key press (like F keys, DEL, Home, End, Print, Arrows) etc.
Hahahaha "I enabled a notification bell with that feature" hahaha nice
What? I always use the F keys. Alt+F4 to close apps, CTRL+ALT+Fx to change TTY, F5 to refresh browser, F6 to go to browser link bar, F11 to maximize browser, F12 to access development tools in browsers, Alt+F1 to open menu (similar to what the Windows key does), I can't live without the F keys, even though I'm a small-keyboards enthusiast.
When is the last time you used the F1 to F12 keys? Literally five minutes ago .. :'(
Just bought my first ducky keyboard in clears absolutely love it!
For browsing the internet and casual gaming it might work. For serious computer work, it's no good at all.
there's a tkl version. I don't remember if there was a full sized version though.
So get a serious keyboard for serious work this keyboard size isent for you
Programmers use 60% keyboards, you gatekeeping twat. Just make sure the board has full programmability, and you can make all the extra keys be in much more comfortable positions than reaching for them on the far right side.
just casual gaming ?
Why not competitive gaming ?
This keyboard was used by some pro
The fact that it’s missing a key on the far right just really bothers me lol

At this price point it makes it a super specialized keyboard. I use stuff like Blender a lot and also code so this is no way suited for productivity because of the missing macros. It's a real shame it doesn't have an aluminium case, the original ducky mini was an absolute brick of a thing in the best possible way.
if you want similar/better quality in aluminum case check out Varmillo and Vortex. Filco and Leopold are still supreme on the internals but if metallic case is really what you're after than those two brands will satisfy your vices.
Build your own
I'm well aware all of these options are thing, i have built several but i still like to see certain things from the pre builts.
sf could also be 75
hmm pretty sweet, I use the one 2 mini. Just love the quality
65% is the best! I recently built a desktop and got a White Fox keyboard and it's perfect for all the photo and video editing I do plus the size and layout compliments my MacBook which is what I used for everything before and now just for on the go work and school. Looked into 60% too but you need those arrow keys for photoshop
yep, completely agree, although my origninal intent in getting a white fox was for CSGO low dpi without giving up arrow keys, i've had the white fox for a few years now, back when I got it it was really the only 65% option I could find, although this seems like a tempting option to have something similar at work, or to travel with, because the cost of getting a white fox to australia was/is far too high to go risking damage to it.
@@LukeAlexander42 Yea, shipping and taxes really is the problem with products like that that are built in the US. I live in Denmark and luckily it was literally 2$ cheaper than the limit for having to pay 25% taxes.
Honestly, now that there's so many other and cheaper options for 65% keyboards, my main reason was the looks. It just looks amazing and that type c connection makes me happy

Someone should make a rubberdome TKL keyboard. I dislike the noise all these mechanical keyboards make. Fucking irritating sound, gets on my nerved so much!
Can this be used with the iPad Pro via USB-C or bluetooth?
I use the F-keys and keypad otherwise I would have bought it based on the brand's reputation. But it isn't to be. Went with a Durgod K310 instead.
What is next? Old mobile phone keyboards? This is going to far in terms of smallness, what is the issue with F-keys at the top? TKL is awesome, but the height was newer the issue.
I will have to check this keyboard out for Mac OS. This is one of the reasons I don't need full size keyboards for editing anymore. This is an example of how we can make shortcuts on TKL keyboards in Mac OS and FCPX. (:
Been rocking my Ideazon Zboard Merc for MANY years now! Had there NOT been any work-arounds for the Windows 10 drivers issues, I might have upgraded to a mech board sooner but the Zboard software makes up for not being mech.
I really can't live without the bottom right enter key, the Cooler Master Masterkeys Pro M with white LEDs and brown switches works super well for me.
sorry but i do need Esc, Home, End, Fs, and wouldnt say no to a mute button.
this is just TOO keyless for me.
Is it possible to hotswap?
If you've tried it how would you compare this to the Durgod Hades 68?
Meh, not interested. I don't like 60%, or for that matter, any keyboard that is not full sized. Meaning, at least 104 keys. I prefer that type of keyboard over all these other so called TKL's and 60% versions. I WANT a numpad on my keyboard. I want the arrow key section in between my numpad and main keys. I LOVE my Havit KB389L Full Size RGB Blue Switch Keyboard! But that's me. Whatever floats your boat, I suppose!
No Poker squad? Using a Pok3r (background: it's a 60% fully programmable keyboard) for two years now. Switching the FN key to the CapsLock position allows so much versatility. All the keys that were absent due to the reduced size (home, end, del, page up and down, etc) can be programmed to easily reachable positions like FN+Q/E/C/V; and the arrow keys can be reprogrammed to WASD instead of IJKL, which is very important because these key combinations can be accessed with one hand instead of two.
jesus christ, those media controls are right next to the function key, instead of clear across the keyboard. my laptop has the function key on the left and the media controls upper-right, my full size keyboard has the function key lower right and media controls upper-left (both require the function key for media controls) and I'm like...... WHYYYYYYYYYY? I never use like half of these keys, but volume control is something I need all the time and I would like to do it one-handed, please! OK good review, thanks, buying this keyboard.
Definitely TKL not SF and Ducky is overpriced for no reason. Hyperx Alloy FPS even though no RGB is $60 and way sturdier. PBT keycaps are not a reason to put higher price tag. They are not more expensive than ABS
75% > 65% any day. Similar form factor, while losing almost no keys, and no wasted space in that big awkward gap like TKL. Also, Function keys are good for Linux users, to access TTYs if you need them.
rtings state that this has very bad latency for wired keyboard, 18.5ms. What was your experience while using it for FPS game, especially CSGO?

Are you going to do a review of the Hades 68? I’d love to see what your thoughts are compared to the Ducky One 2 SF.
So Chris Pratt reviews tech now...
Still waiting for a UK layout to come out
Just get a custom 65% with an ISO layout (which is what you should look for, by the way, not "UK layout"), like the ISO version of the Tada68 or a Leopold FC660.
@@Frawt Was hoping to get something with cherry speed switches, none of which I can seem to find on those two boards
This keyboard is incredibly overpriced for its spec. I could get a plastic GK64 for half of the price of this and that is capable of interchanging switches.... There are SO many better TKL keyboards around if you spend a bit of time actually looking for one.
3:45 you're welcome :)
