Just found your channel after purchasing the Longarm Line Minder from your Etsy shop. I just purchased my new long arm, and while I have automation, I am excited to learn more about custom quilting and especially ruler work. This video was stunning to watch and has such great info, even for a beginner like me. Cant wait to watch more of your videos and visit your site. Thanks!
Another amazing quilt you came up with a great plan for lite quilting that is amazing! I enjoyed watching you quilt as always ! I am learning from you every time! Thanks again!
I just subscribed after purchasing the amazing William Morris fabrics you sell on Etsy and am blown away at the quilting you do here! I know nothing about quilting and just do basic sewing but it’s very interesting! Also since when did quilting become so high tech?!

Great piecing & color choices by your customer! Fabulous quilting by you,Michael! Where do I get that slotted 9 ruler? I also like that your curved rulers are the same curve inside & out,so smart! Thank you!
Hi Lori. Thank you for your comment. I will list the Slotted ruler this weekend and will be avail on my website. michaelquilts.com Happy Quilting! Michael
Amazing job again Michael! Do you have everyone press the seems to one side and not press them open so that you do not have any issues while stitching in the ditch?
Hi Dana. I do not require anyone to press seams in a certain direction. However - it would be my dream to quilt a quilt with all seams pressed open. I knew when Tina dropped this quilt off to me that there would be bulk in certain seams due to all of the hand-piecing and paper-piecing. It's all usually manageable as long as you know what to expect. It's harder with Edge to Edge computerized quilting because it goes where it goes via digital instructions - at least with custom quilting, you can slow down and make adjustments for bulk. Hope this helps. Happy Quilting! Michael
Hi Gloria! This is a Jen Kingwell quilt. Some are blocks are paper pieced and some hand pieced, from what Tina tells me. You can visit Jen Kingwell’s site and search for “Psychedelia”. www.jenkingwelldesigns.com/
Re" black on the back". I had to test it first. I never suggest contrasting top and bobbin threads. I knew I wanted black on back and I knew I needed white on top in some areas. It just so happened that the combination of busy fabrics and good tension made this all possible. For batting, I used Quilter's Dream poly select on this one to help reduce overall shrinkage. However, it was a bit stiff in the areas that I did more quilting. It was a trade off. I typically use 80/20 unless a customer requests otherwise. Had it been my own quilt for my own bed, I may have chosen 80/20 instead. This was a bit of an exception. Happy Quilting! Michael
Hi Cindy. I had two surgeries in a row and havent gotten quite back to "normal" yet. However, I did film a custom quilting project. I just need to edit it and post. The goal is by this weekend. Thanks so much for asking! Happy Quilting! Michael

Awesome! What batting did you use? You’re so brave to use black on the back with white on the top!
