Using the factory Chevy bed-liner. Thanks to Reliable Chevy for working on the price. Believe it or not the dealers will work with you on parts prices.
I like it. Good, clean look. I'm liking the drop in liners over spray in. Spray in liners are to much prep, big mess, in the end it's a 50/50 shot if it'll protect your bed. With a drop in I could see 1 person doing this in under an hour. I agree truck beds should have protection if nothing else get a bed mat. It seems like spray in bedliners are more to show off to your buddies at the boat ramp. Drop in bed liners are the way to go. If you don't want your cargo to slide around STRAP IT DOWN.
Nice video sir. Been looking to get one for my ram. I love how you made the boys do it, best gift my dad ever gave me was teaching me how to use my hands.
My truck came with the chevy plastic bedliner, they did a horrible install from the dealer. Going to take it out and do a spray liner. Although I agree that the plastic protects better.
I just got my truck back earlier today. I guess my dealer's parts/mechanic person has never seen or been given instruction on installing the liner. When I picked it up I told them my liner was not installed correctly. The person that did the install argued saying it was and the tabs would not and were not meant to fit underneath on each corner. I insisted that he was wrong. I got no where with him and told him to go watch a youtube video. I needed my truck and said I would be back when time permitted for it to be done correctly.
My 2019 Silverado All Star edition came with a drop in bed liner. I was curious how they got that in there because it's a stiff plastic, they did not give me the netting at time of delivery. I also installed the Chevy rubber bed mat; I did have to modify the bed mat to fit in the drop in bedliner. So now I have twice as much protection. It wasn't too hard to do, I made a template and used a jig-saw to cut the mat.
@@4ME2DRV Even though the drop in bread liner fits very tight it has a few added pieces for the tailgate is and around the wheel wells plus in front of the wheel wells is slightly different than the actual bed itself.
I have the factory liner in my 2016 Silverado, just took it out for a spray in. These things are junk! There was so much paint damage when I removed it, I wish I would have not had it installed when I purchased the truck new. Next time I will just let the bed get scratched up a little, then get a spay in liner.
i just bought a used small truck (peugeot hoggar) with a factory installed plastic liner. removed it just to check how the bed was, and found it is really scratched and rusted below. apparently the liner moves a bit forwards and backwards and rubs constanly, then hold water and dirt. there was no rust where the paint was ok, even thou there was dirt and even mud. i'm gonna sand and paint the rusted parts and put the liner back, but ill put something in between to avoid rubbing the paint. i still dont know what im gonna place there... some rubber mat i guess.
Hey I have a question I hope you answer. The Tellgate is that the same as the bedliner or did you have to purchase something different. Or does that come with it
Hey may I ask a question? I’m getting from the dealer on Thursday. How did you transport home so I can take my time to do it myself and clean/prep everything prior? I need to travel about 20 miles mostly 70mph. Was it open like you have in your video or was it rolled? Thanks so much
It was open I just went ahead and temporarily set it in the truck at the dealership. If you make sure the top edges of the sides are tucked under the rails you shouldn’t have any issues.
@@YourCarGuyDR really appreciate it! That’s what I figured. I will bring my salt bags just in case. :) been pretty windy in the Midwest. Pickup up rear wheel liners as well. Mine is exactly like yours just white ty again.
@@YourCarGuyDR I just installed it took two days to get but of course my two back holes with the push pins don’t match up and off my 1/2 inch too low. :( everything else matches
What keeps water from getting in through the slots for the cargo hooks? Maybe they make a snap in cover for them too, so that they can be closed up when not in use...
No matter what you do some water will get under the liner. The key is to make sure that the bed drains and those stay open to allow ventilation and drying. The wax helps prevent any of the moister from promoting rust.
Installed mine this weekend. Mines a standard bed also, but mine has eyelets at the cab end of the bed for nets up there as well. Odd that yours doesn't.
@@YourCarGuyDR Might be worth reaching out to GM. It's just 4 eyelets and screws I think, although they might have nuts on the back side. If you need a picture I can send you one. Just let me know.
😂 dealership told me $130 for my 2024 GMC I pulled this video up
I just ordered mine. Very helpful information as far as installing yourself. Much appreciated.

Thanks for the hint about applying the wax before installing the bedliner.
Just installed my Chevy bed liner on my 2021 Silverado and it fits like a glove. This video was extremely helpful!

I like your wax suggestion thanks man
A lot better then spray in honestly

That is frustrating.
Great video and recommendation to use a layer of unbuffed wax under the bed liner!
It looks pretty damn good , i have a black weathertech on a same truck but after 5 months it lools gray dull ,damn sun think i will get a bed cover
Hello a have one question how much your pay for the cover in Chevy please
Thanks so much I have 120,000 gm points so I wanted to go with something GM to use my points and didn't want the bedrug. Thanks for the easy install!!

if its a Chevy mat, why did you have to modify it to fit?

Very good explanation!
I did not like the way it folded when he pushed it in. Looked very cheap! About 4:42 mark.

How much?
At the time it was under $500.
Do you have a part number for the drop liner

In this case the tailgate had a factory installed coating.
GRACIAS
Hi you didn't mention if the tailgate cover came with truck or bedliner.
Thanks
The tailgate cover does comes standard on the truck.
Has anyone ever mentioned you sound like Dan Akroyd?
🤣 you are the first!

How often do you think you should redo the wax? My truck will be sitting in 105 degree weather all summer
Once you do it it shouldn’t need done again.
Link to order it
What about water drainage holes at the front of the liner? Will you have to drill holes for that?
I haven’t had any issues with it so far.
Did your truck come with the tailgate protector or did it come with the liner?
The truck came with the tailgate liner.

Where can I buy bed liner
I bought it at the Chevy dealer.
Donde la compraste cuanto te costo
Are you not worried about the bed getting rust underneath the liner?
That is why we put the wax under the liner. It will help protect the bed.
Link to website?
Where we can bay one like that?? Thanks.
I bought this direct from the Chevy dealership
How much
Dan Akroyd, is that you?
how much was this ?
I think I paid $450 if I remember correctly.
Do not order it online or through the chase app. Call and tell them you heard they give you a cheaper price if you call. They took off $100 for me.
Nice,how much it cost?
$450
Do you happen to know how much the dealership charges for the install?
I do not. But I would guess 1 hour or less of labor.
can u tell me where is order this part bed liner,u video is so cool 👍 thank u sir!
Get it from the Chevrolet dealer.
