Mike literally saved Nacho's girlfriends' lives and he kept Nacho's father out of trouble. You can tell he cares about Nacho, and he acts like a father figure with him. This has to be highlighted considering Mike's past with his son. Also, Tyrus couldn't die, guys. He is in Breaking Bad and gets blown up with Gus thanks to Hector.
@@emaan3484 Rewatching BB, you can see that Mike cleary see elements of Nacho in him. He couldn't save Nacho, which is why he takes so much time trying to put Jesse on the right path.
@@kobby5564 Well I can! I've seen nearly every show they have (plus more besides), I don't take notes, and I've only got one brain! I mean, I love Blind Wave, but they SUCK at remembering things.
“Wolves and sheep” references a flashback from a previous season where Jimmy’s dad is conned at their gas station, and the conman says something to kid Jimmy about there being sheep and wolves in the world.
Michael Mando's performance this season was so fucking good. I mean, he was great throughout, because he's an awesome actor. But he's so, so next level this season.
Pisses me off that he was set up as scorpion in the mcu but they still haven’t done anything with him but my man in the thunderbolts or something atleast
Peter Gould's wife fell prey to a scam that was much like the ones the Kettlemans were doing. That's where the writers got the inspiration for this little bit of story
That giant statue of liberty is the *exact* same one that was on top of Saul's office. The production folks had it stored in some warehouse. The production team did briefly look into maybe getting a new one but couldn't find one as these giant balloons are custom made, to order. So they were lucky to have it in storage. Due to high winds, they had to be very careful with the balloon lest the support wires snapped and it drifted off
This is an excellent episode and I feel like often isn't talked about enough simply because some of the other S06 episodes are even crazier. It's always a treat to have Vince Gilligan in the director's chair. His episodes just hit different 🔥🔥🔥
15:15 glad you noticed that small detail about the camera, they explained in the behind the scenes that it was an accident but ended up using it because it looked cool. One of the many examples why this show is so great, the cinematography is pure art
I laughed my ass off when Betsy left the offices of Davis & Main and dragged Craig with her before he could drink his coffee that he was dutifully preparing during the meeting 5 seasons later, he STILL can't get a cup of Joe lol.
The copy of HG Wells', "The Time Machine" that was seen in Saul's house in the S06E01 cold open can be seen on the nightstand in Jimmy & Kim's bedroom.
The Kettleman actors did a commentary on an episode in season 1 in character and it's very funny. Also recommend the Insider Podcast for this and Breaking Bad. Casual podcast including almost everyone involved in the show. Lots of cool stories including the main cast finding a bunch of stray puppies when shooting 'Bagman'.
7:10 If the Feds catch him, Nacho wouldn't be sent to prison; Feds are first gonna beat the shit out of him, and then they'll deliver him to the Salamancas. That's how it usually plays out in real life México when there's a case like this.
The first two episodes of this season aired back to back. After this episode, a bunch of fans started calling Betsy 'Kettlemilkers' and harassed the actress on Twitter. Bob Odenkirk had his heart attack during the filming of episode 8 of this season.
@@GameTavern2224 Yeah but not in the same way. People sent death threats to Anna Gunn. People sent messages to Juli Ann Emmery saying how much they want to bang her.
Its pretty clear in the first episode that the cartel wants Nacho alive to find out who he was working for. This episode is so great tho, one of the best of this season! Became kinda underrated because of all the great stuff that comes later
Yea, I'm a little confused here. They've said multiple times that they are looking for Nacho to question him. It's not even up in the air; the show tells you they want him alive. The whole point of Gus keeping Nacho there and telling him to shoot whoever comes through his door was to force a shootout where Nacho would die and he wouldn't be able to talk.
An incredibly underrated episode. The acting and the cinematography this season were literally perfect, its just BCS at its best. So much tension in every scene, I've never known a show that can build tension so well, even better than Breaking Bad could. I still remember the anticipation and dread I felt watching every episode when it first aired
this is my 3rd favourite episode of s6 (after waterworks + fun & games). easily the strongest nacho episode for me & the return of the kettlemans was so lovely lol
@@ianmcclure3936 rock & hard place isnt personally my fave bc the final confrontation was robbed of tension for me: one of those scenes where it feels unfortunate to know everyone who survives. also felt like nacho had much more to do & that another encounter between nacho and lalo was called for
@@nedalsoned9940 That's fair enough. I liked how Nacho went out on his own terms, but I can see why some may be dissatisfied with the whole scenes outcome.
TBF to the Kettlemans, by Jimmys own logic, it’s HIS fault that they went to jail. When Jimmy committed a crime using Chuck and then Chuck caught him, Jimmy burned Chuck to the ground in return because “he had us in a corner.” So by that logic, Jimmy is the reason The Kettlemans went to jail. That they actually committed the crime doesn’t matter as much as who didn’t let them get away with it
My head cannon is that this is the main reaction show of the channel and everything else is just filler until the next week rolls around. XD That’s how good this show is
In fairness, you could only recognize the Kettlemans if you had paid more attention to the story than to each other's beards. Apparently a big task for this crowd.
I'm late to the party but the only person I think could be following them that isn't Mike is the DA's investigator trying to find De Guzman so they can revoke bail.
All the note taking and you don't remember the Kettlemans? Eric, don't look away so long. I like making notes the second viewing or after. Enjoy the episode the first time. I remember The Normies had no clue about the AC unit and why it was suspicious.
I think aside from Kim's grudge towards Howard, she also possess resentment for wealth and she consciously or not projected that on Howard. She probably sees Howard as a privilege person who just get anything he wants with no effort. Kim threatening people with law is becoming one of my favorite scenes.
