LYRICS:
I know I made a lot of mistakes
I know I'm not perfect in any way
But after all, who's the one to blame
When I don't even know myself
I know I can heal almost anything
Because
I am stronger than I've ever been
Watch me now, I'm drowning in the deep
It's a burden, I'm not alone here
But it's so quiet since you're gone
I know one day I will be again
Strong
I feel your pain, it’s burning my chest
I regret that I didn't tell it straight
We didn't rush, we always tried our best
'Cause we never wanted any less
I threw the fuel and you put the flame
Because
I am stronger than I've ever been
Watch me now, I'm drowning in the deep
It's a burden, I'm not alone here
But it's so quiet since you're gone
I know one day I will be again
Strong
No, I didn't rush
I didn't throw the flame
Didn't break the walls to build them up again
I faced every battle here on my own
I rise and I fall but I'm not alone
We didn't rush, we didn't blow the flame
Didn't break apart we're building up again
We crash and we burn out here on our own
We drown, but we breathe 'cause we're not alone
I threw the fuel and you put the flame
'Cause I know I can heal almost anything
Because
I am stronger than I've ever been
Watch me now, I'm drowning in the deep
It's a burden, I'm not alone here
But it's so quiet since you're gone
I know one day I will be again
Strong

I can't help but shake the feeling that Noora turned up to the video shoot dressed like this.
Why all these hate comments? Amaranthe has been the perfect balance of pop and metal since day one. Deal with it.
Cause hateful bigotry exist antonio that's why there simply assholes who got nothing better to do then hate
Absolutely right
Hate comments?! WHERE?! *puts on scrappy doo mask* LEMME AT EM!
The 'death to false metal' crusade has been on from the start with Amaranthe.
You've literally just explained why there is so much hate lol. Pop and metal don't belong together. This is piss
We NEED more Elize and Noora duets.
but can the Planet handle it? or will it bring about Ragnarok
@@OldSkuleNerd Fuck it, it's worth it.
Is Eliza the new Sharon den Adel? Very similar voices and style.
Noora is clearly the new Doro.
i'm a man of simple virtues and complex vices. whenever i see or hear Noora Louhimo i get happy.
hail to our Sisters In Metal! Iron Beauty!
And every time I listen to her gives me goosebumps 🤘🏽🖤🤘🏽
I know it's not a competition, but if it were, I don't know if anyone alive could outsing Noora.
Shivers every time I hear noora scream. She's my metal goddess
Noora is the best female metal singer, I'd dare to say over Floor Jansen, at least my taste
@@eduardoflores8255Now that sir is a hot take HOWEVER not unjustified. Let's create a pantheon and have them both at at the table. Next to Elize herself and the likes of Alyssa White-Gluz
I love the combination between Noora and Elize, it works so well together. Two amazing women with amazing vocals that clash in a good way
Finnish and Swedish metal queens. I'm pretty sure both would hate that name. These women have awesome voices!
And Tarja Turunen🎉
Finnish and World Metal Queen is Only One - Tarja Turunen
But First Princess is - of Course - Only One - Noora Louhimo
Remember, you are strong. Noora and Elize said so. You got this.
Amaranthe, I found this song when I was in one of the deepest darkest moments of my depression so far. I struggled with both that and severe anxiety issues. I wasn't doing well in school and I felt like a complete failure. I wanted to give up. When this came on randomly on Spotify I was blown away. It felt like it was written for me. Now I come here every time I need a reminder of just how strong I am. You guys have helped remind me of just how incredible life is and just how I can get through everything being thrown at me. Thank you so much!🖤
Stay strong
@@guilhermenascimento2179 thank you 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Never Give Up Soldier! Hardship help acquire growth. Never lose hope .... what ever the struggle you face. Loved reading your post....
Noora and elize❤️
Similar quality to Tarja Turunen and Sharon del Adel in "Paradise". Just the next generation of great female singers.
Two powerful voices working TOGETHER, Oh mannnn!!
I love this. Elize and Noora’s vocals are very strong.
The chorus of this song really hits hard for me, dealing with anxiety and doubting myself almost everyday makes me tired, but this... I don't know how to explain, it helps... thanks Amaranthe, I can't be more grateful for you guys
Yes!
Music can be a potent motivator. I'm glad for you to have found some relief in music. Music helps me too. Axiety has been a dark shadow following me for my entire life. I've tried everything to get rid of it, but now accept that it is just part of me, I just learnt how to manage it better. Never let it control you. I do something every day to face it, even small things, otherwise the nagging fear grows inside me like a monster. One positive of the condition is that it has made me a super empathetic person, who people like for my kind, considerate and genuine nature. Every superpower comes with a weakness. All the best.
I cringe at myself every day but it’s fine I just get on with life
I have this philosophy for music, "Music is like a grand buffet for us all to indulge into regardless of the sequence of occasion. Whether its to rejoice with loved ones on the memories of laughter and happiness, to the epitomes of life's eb and flow that we grief on the lost of loved ones and feeling the falsified need to be included. Music will always mend the brokenness, we humans are regardless shape and size, it will forever heal the wounds we suffer day in day out enabling us to get through the hardships however massive or small those misfortunes may be to see another day in hopes it will be better than the last." I have a burning passion and inspiration to music and believe this fits true for what music has done, the only artificial creation of mankind that has stayed transcendient and not once shedded blood for people kill people not music. Frozen Crown, Amaranthe, Within Temptation, Beast in Black are my first groups I genuinely love every track they made respectfully so my support will always stay with them.
God bless you and keep you make his face to shine on you proper you and give you every good thing
I guess I'll just have to disagree with everyone here because, while maybe not one of the biggest or Amaranthe-iest of songs, I think it's super solid and I love hearing both Elize and Noora on the same track. I really enjoyed this quite a lot!!! Rock on guys!!!
As one of those who made "critical" comments, I take the chance from yours, to say that we aren't negative about the song (or at least, I'm not negative about it, at all). The song is solid and good (some will say fine, others great). My "criticism" is about it being too "generic" and not as distinctive as most Amaranthe songs are (also because the lack of the triple vocals). Again, this is a matter of preference and there's no right-wrong debate. They're artists and as far as this is their vision, this is great! And I'm actually not critical for it. I wish it'll go well, it's a great song! It only seems to me that this style is a more generic "fem fronted symphonic metal". And Amaranthe - to me - is so much more than this.
Edit: Playing this song in an acoustic version would be a must, I'd say. And I love the "because" turn.
PS. I suspect this wasn't entirely their vision alone, but that's just a suspicion of mine with no proof whatsoever.
Honestly I think this is one of the amaranthiest songs they’ve released since their Nexus album lol
@@scorp18121982 Iam with you on this, word by word - I'll even stretch your comments and just add - it's just plain boring.
This song is fucking incredible
for real man!!
OK I'm glad I waited to comment. At first, I was underwhelmed... but I found myself repeating the track constantly and, yep, it's one of those "grow on you" songs. There's a lot of nuance in both the song and video to appreciate. Eliz absolutely crushes playing a different character than we've seen from her before.. especially her opening verse.
Elize and Noora, amazing, collaboration I was waiting for!!! I Love to hear Nooras softer sound as it's so beautiful! Also I love Elizes dirty and slightly raspy sound that she uses here and there. Vocal perfection, I'm enjoying, thank you ladies!!
Oops! Elize did it again!
Why not Joan Jett for example? She also in red.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that got Britney vibes 😂
I also got this vibes, lol
lol
And Noora Louhimo :)
Two world-class female vocalists in one video! Great new single!
Elize and Noora great combo
*While filming*, Elize: "Hey...uh...you wouldn't happen to have a hospital bed handy, would you? I'm kinda used to taking a nap before rolling around a bit in the middle of these sessions." Director: "Uh... I have this flaming star thingy on the floor?" Elize: "That'll work."
Elize & Noora. Bra tack. Kiitos from finland.
Noora and Elize is magic!!!
I cant get enough of this and have been playing it non stop
Same here
Same.
Btw go listen to Nooras band Battle Beast if you have'nt done it yet, that'll take atleast a week of non-stop playing. 😁
Same🙋🏻♀️
same, if the entire album is gonna be as good as this song it'll be a piece of art
You and me both.
Thank you amaranthe for creating this amazing song it has helped me through my depression this song will always mean a lot to me thank you
Noora AND Elize!?? simply AMAZING! lets see where this goes from here! looking forward to the future! i was suspecting these 2 ladies would team up!
This song has been on repeat for days now for me. Then I read the comments. I guess my tastes are different from the majority of people who complaining about this song.
I love it!
They sound amazing together . Noora , what a powerhouse
Really glad to have discovered this song. It helped me realize that something was not going on well in my life. I must admit that I couldn't stop listening to this song after I broke up with my ex-GF. This song told me 2 vital things: something was wrong and now I feel so much better after all of what has happened. Everything's been quiet since she left, but I am now strong enough to go on with my life. Such a masterpiece! Love Amaranthe!
The fact that I'd be seeing both these bands right about now if it weren't for covid saddens me greatly
Nathaniel Shoresh still so pissed that they had to cancel the tour.
@@finalbladecrisis that makes all of us
Yeah, me too. They were supposed to be in Denver in october, but my country is dominated by selfish bastards, so its just not safe for bands from civilized nations to tour here.
Robert Welch WOW! Very well said. Kudos! 👍
@@robertwelch3240 Join the club. I was supposed to see them in Indiana in two weeks. Hope they'll get back here one day, because I'm not sure if Europe will let me in to go see a concert with the way things are going.
Two great singers, see you Noora at Rauha
Two beautiful voices, Elize e Noora, amazing duet e very great song 🔥❤
I love this song. I'm a huge fan of Amaranthine and Battle Beast. It is awesome that Elize and Noora did a video together, and they rock. This video is awesome.
I didn't know that i needed the singer of Amaranth and Battle Beast at the same time, but i did

For the entire world to hear!
This is a pretty damn good song and personally, I think the point that they're trying make is no matter your personal struggle in this life and/or world, always be strong.
At first listen, it sounds mediocre. But after 5 days of listening to it, I really got into it. It is the vocals that made it happen. Elize and Noora's amazing vocals can make a mediocre song sound really good. Imagine Taylor Swift and Katy Perry singing the same song. It would sound awful.
@@NR-xd1vw No kidding.
@@NR-xd1vw same! The vocals are perfect! they are well balanced and powerful
@@alfredmehchi Yeah they said they were going to do the song in the tour they were going to do together. That of course got cancelled. I was hoping they would be able to come back next summer but it doesn't look like they will be back until 2022.
Sooooooo... I'm waiting for "Do Or Die" and "Strong" to be uncluded in concerts setlist! Of course, with Angela and Noora! ☺️🤘
What about this song... Really strong one, but it needs a little guitar solo! 🔥🔥🔥
glad to see my favorite band in a fresh video, Elise is beautiful as always
Just can't stop listening to their amazing voices & high notes register...awesome Elize Ryd with Louhimo..❤❤❤🎶🎶🎧
Two of my favourite singers on one fantastic song. I absolutely love the song, the vocals and the video. Hope they work together on more songs
Awesome song, cool video! Heja Sverige och Finland collab!!!
cant wait to hear that Collab live on stage
amaranthe is criminally underrated.
Elize Ryd could be a pop queen. I'm glad she's our queen. Strong!
HOLY #%*&!!! That was AMAZING. Better than I was expecting, and I was expecting something spectacular...
Elize and Noora together. What more could anyone ask for. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Noora actually doing great vocals again, that would work for starters. She can break a concrete wall with her voice but really wants to be seen as a "real" singer instead.
@@altarus I agree. Noora has one of the best and most powerful vocals in the industry. To me it sounded like she toned it down a bit to match Amaranthe's style and Elize Ryd's voice for this song.
Oh guys, don't always expect Noora go wild. It depends on the song and there's plenty charm listening her more subdued and calm vocals as well.
Wow! Being a huge fan of both Amaranthe and Battle Beast I had to check this out. You two ladies singing together is an unbeatable combination! Great song! Great video! Whatever disc this is on I’m buying it!
What the voices! I love them!
Great harmony between these two voices. Such a catchy song, awesome
Never disappointed when Amaranthe releases a new song! :D
In that case you must be pleased very easily

Everyone has their own opinion. There's no right or wrong. With that said, this song sucks, and I've been disappointed by every new Amaranthe song for the past 3 years 😥
@Taylor Atkinson This song and band are garbage. I think you're the one missing out on good music.
collaboration made in heaven! YES! YES! YES! more of this PLEASE!
I love the collaborative nature of this whole genre!
Their voices really work well together. Nicely done, ladies.
Manifest is an amazing Album. Love Amaranthe 🤘
Contrary to some of the other comments, I think both Elize's and Noora's vocals were utilized very well (and balanced). Sure, they both are capable of reaching far more extremes on the vocal spectrum (some might call that stronger, I'd just call it more energetic). Instead, this song demonstrates (at least to me) how they both have great vocal control while singing in the more "normal" range of the spectrum too (something that doesn't always comes properly through in the extremes). Fair enough of some people can not appreciate that, but I certainly do. Great vocals, great duet. Pity, if some die hard fans end up unhappy/disappointed, when this doesn't quite fit what they expected. Boohoo.
You are right!👏
Good comment. Though I didn't like it for first listen and won't force myself to do so, but still I can accept the song.
Agreed. Where did this idea that unless the singer(s) are "challenged" or pushing the limits of their abilities, it's a failed song or something, come from?
@@kmdcompelelct Dopamine and shock-impression addiction maybe? Bigger, faster, better, something like that. I obviously don't agree with that myself, but it appears to be an actual thing these days. In my opinion not really the essence of art, although I have to acknowledge that it is an art to consistently reach that goal. I've seen it happen even a lot more in the development/evolution of hardstyle dance music, even to the point that it became quite hilarious and they had to re-introduce more calm parts, for the hard parts to stand out and not just be over-saturated (and listeners numbed) all the time. Anyways, I do think the key here is addiction to sensations, rather than artistic sensibility. If that (hopefully) makes any sense to you.
I can't agree with this comment more, 100% with you
Perfect vocal sound! Fantastic metal song! ❤
I love everything about this song. Strong energy at maximum
DIOS! Battle Beast y Amaranthe juntos en una gira... se viene, se viene!

WOAHHHHHHH! That's a powerful song. Never heard of this band, just clicked it cause of Noora
I love Nora and Elize together. Please do more songs. Amazing😍
Awesome duet ! It's already in my playlist :D Noora is great !
I didn't know I needed this collab until now.
Just watching Elize & Noora is enough for me - long live Nordic co-operative metal.
that's perfect.that's ........ "strong".I like it.
To the people on here complaining about the sound: the band adjusted their sound for this song to incorporate Noora's style. That's it. This sounds different because it's a fusion of Amaranthe and Battle Beast.
Too pop!
Whattt?!! I have big problem with english. London is the capital of Great Bitan. Fuckin all!!! And I don't know what they sing... Cool music, good work and all soul. It's maximum!
I kinda thought it just sounded like Amaranthes old stuff, which I consider the good stuff lol
I am thinking this is some big wig exec decision at NB dropped onto the band on the behest of WB.
Yeah, that's probably the problem. But then, I really can't stand Battle Beast. Saw them live even, when they opened for Kamelot. Just not a huge fan of her style. This is totally a pass for me.
Two angels united 😍 fell in love with them for their voices
One of my favorite bands doing a song with one of my favorite singers from my favorite band. Did I love this? Absolutely obviously.
First Amaranthe's song, since the band take its way apart with Jake E Berg, that I'm in love to. Absolutely brilliant. That is the old Amaranthe's style! Finally!
Love the girl boss energy in this song. Both Elize and Noora absolutely shine in their own bands but hearing (and seeing) them together is perfection.
I'm not familiar with Noora. What band is she with? I like her vocals.
@@seattanf2348 Her band is Battlebeast
Pop music.. Miss the old amaranthe
Agreed
remember that amazing vocal of jake e in the song 'break down and cry'
Ely and Noora ❤
These ladies... GOOSEBUMPS!!!
AMARANTHE commented: "Devil and saint, martyr and sinner, betrayal and loyalty - 'Strong' essentially underlines the dualistic nature of what it means to be human. In an increasingly polarized world, we found it incredibly exciting to reach across the metal world, and find collaboration and unity with the phenomenal Noora Louhimo. Even if the world around you is on fire, and if you find yourself at a disadvantage, remember that there is always one part of you that will remain - 'Strong'."
Wow..why can’t American music have a fraction of this meaning and depth?
Where did you find this?
@@weathered19 because we are too busy worrying about offending people
@@DarkSidePhoenix Its just a quote I extracted from a metal news site. Its obviously a comment the band released to media once the single released. It gives a little insight into the meaning behind the song so I thought it would be useful to post in the comments.
Personally, I thought the song was outstanding. Goes in the same class as "Dream," which I also greatly enjoyed. Both songs are probably also the "softest" songs on their respective albums.
This song would be considered "too heavy" for a lot of broadcast radio rock stations in the states. Think about that before saying this song is "pop."
Amaranthe doesn't have a genre, in my opinion. They've mixed elements from so many other genres over the years that their music can't really be classified into one specific class. I like their sound.
The video imagery used was...unsettling. Probably not the choice I would have made, but I get the concept they were going for.
You make a pretty good point about this being too heavy for the vast majority of stations in the U.S. Ironically, it also probably ends up being too light for the few that would consider it otherwise.
I dont know -- Five Finger Death Punch, Coal Chamber, and early Disturbed get played on US radio stations from time to time. FFDP, their early stuff, is definitely heavier than this, not to mention Wrong Side of Heaven when they had Marina Brink (sp?) as a guest vocalist.
Additionally, I found Strong to be about the same level as Lzzy Hale and Halestorm -- which isn't bad, but it by no means, means that Strong couldn't be played on US radio stations.
On the other hand, I dont think GG6 or Do or Die would have a snowball's chance in Hell being considered for radio play in the US.
@@isaiahwelch8066 I doubt this will get played on US stations. It doesn't matter since we have you tube now.
@@isaiahwelch8066 Being compared to Halestorm is horrible - they suck, but in this case it is a bit too harsh but maybe deserving.
Лизка с Нюркой зажигают!😊
I have always admired the Amaranthe drummer, if nothing else, he has amazing footwork skills
Most Amaranthe songs don't really do it for me, but when I see Noora Louhimo I click
Battle Beast is the most underrated band today
Awesome!! I love Battle Beast and Amaranthe!!! Rock it ladies!!! 🤘🤘🤘
metal is so diverse, metamorphic, nobody can judge, and we are not here for this, we are here to feel an emotion, that's all
Amaranthe and Battle Beast... That's like my perfect gig :D
Talk about about 2 powerful voices
Thanks for this. Chronic illness is something I'm learning to live with and I need to remind myself that I am still strong because I am still here.
Elize and Noora are the perfect choice for this song!
such a great song...love these women together..
Wow bowsette got rad vocals
The Pop vs metal argument can rage all it wants. I am a big fan of "real" Metal as much as anyone. It has always been my genre of choice. I found Amaranthe by accident about a week ago.
They have a sound that I have not heard before. As an old school metal guy I can tell you, most that speak of pop and metal not belonging together don't remember the days when metal was born. They speak their opinions on that which they do not understand.
These beautiful ladies powerful singing combined are a force to be reckoned with.

This song is so awesome! I light up every time I hear it on the radio, and the lyrics are great
Elize needs a solo project for stuff like this and Endlessly.
Half the views must be from my replays alone. What a song.
I've been so busy recently so I just now have the time to listen to this and holy crap this is amazing! Why didn't I listen to this sooner? 😱😍😍😍
Elize ja Noora. Ehkä vähän jo oon odottanut tätä. Tykkään😍
Many writes "Elize looks like Britney Spears", but no one remembered Joan Jett? And local critics consider themselves metalheads, m'kay...
No, But I love RocknRoll
Yes, it feels like the local listeners actually secretly love pop, but they're afraid to admit it, & therefore they expressly insult Amaranthe in order to deflect suspicion from themselves.
I love Amaranthe I love metal and I'm not afraid to share my love of 80s, 90's and some later pop (no autotune).
I think they need their eyes checked. Elize looks nothing like and is infinitely more gorgeous. Red bodysuit, yeah, whatever..
That's probably because the viewers grew up in the 90's instead of the 80's. I don't believe Joan Jett was on the telly that much in the 90's 00's compared to Britney
Elize's red outfit reminds me of Britney Spears "Oops I did it again" lmao
I had the same reflexion 😂😂
Could watch it all day long! Elize wears it better!
I actually would have preferred a white outfit on Elize to emphasize Saint vs sinner theme of video. They may have tried that initially and the lighting didn't work.
yes song 90s Britney Spears 😁
And she was lying on the ground like she did in that video too lol
is a powerfull and melodic song
Noora and Elize. Beast mode enabled.
I watched it more than 3x and more. This was freaking cool, and all the haters whatever
Once again Amaranthe give us an awesome song ! This duo rocks !
