Couldn’t agree more. Back in the days I had to seat in the office, call the brokers, hustle the rate, get them to fax me the RC and fax it back. Now, must of the times, you have to bid on it or email them your rate. Anybody with a smart phone is doing the same thing and many new o/o that are not experienced in this business bid low just to get moving. Guess who takes it, the lowest bid. Almost 15 years in this business and we’re probably the only industry that hasn’t had a pay raise in the past 20 years. On the contrary, freight is shipper now while fuel, maintenance and all the administrative fees that comes with the industry keep going up. Not to mention all the big corporations monopolizing the industry. “If I own a 1000 trucks and I also broker the freight, guess what you move it cheap or I put one my trucks on it”. What’s left for us?? Saddest part, politicians seat in their offices looking for ways to make our lives harder and miserable with more and more regulations, but nobody is looking for a way to control the rates and make it fair. I love this industry, but everyday when I look at the load board it breaks my heart, this is not an easy job. It takes a toll on your body, your families, your mind and yet, right now, we’re almost working for free.

You speak nothing but the truth, sir. It’s a sad situation. Hang in there, man. I pray it gets better someway or another.

I have a question if you give me an answer . When you take a landstar trailer to have It inspected or worked on does landstar cover any of your time ?

No, they do not cover any of your time. They will pay for the inspection and that’s it. However, if it is a trailer that needed an inspection and it was overdue, and you took the time to get it done, they will give you $25.

You absolutely right. It hopefully Hass to reverse soon. I do intend to go back to LANDSTAR once I start rolling again. Landstar is a good company.
