I thought I'd seen every werewolf movie of the fifties, but this is a new one!! Thank you. I like that guy that plays the werewolf. He should have been better known!
Right?? Some real method acting there!!

@@drewrosecrans9728 I agree Drew. Thank you. BTW, my husband was from Gardena!
I first saw this film on TCM years ago. The late Robert Osborne introduced it. He liked this film, and thought very highly of the actor who played the werewolf, Steven Ritch. I agree with Mr Osborne on both counts...a very good film, with fine performances by all, especially Mr Ritch. Thank you for having it here! 😊
RIP Robert Osborn.
Yes. Miss him so much TCM is not the same. @@catchaser52
I missed this one back in the day. Thanks. And I love seeing the way things used to look. 1956 was a good year. I was 5-6 years old. Loved horror movies.
I love these old movies
I love that the Wolfman never took off his suit and tie!! And he must have given Captain Jack Sparrow running lessons!! This was most entertaining 😂
All Werewolves have a human name and a story to tell. Let that sink in. This is a good one.
Robert Osbourne's intro and summaries were always enjoyable. I miss him. Thanks for posting this great 50s movie.
you miss who
'The Werewolf' (1956) was an entertaining movie indeed and I hadn't seen it before, so thanks for posting it, Creature Features. :)
I saw it originally as the bottom half of a double-feature that included Earth Vs the Flying Saucers as the top billing on a Saturday summer's feature in Franklin, Virginia in 1956.
@@eriksnead3134Wow! Must of been a great time growing up. I was born in 1975, and growing up in the 80s was awesome, but I've always liked imagining what it would of been like being young in the 50s, and 60s. I live one state above Virginia, in the little town of Chesapeake City, Maryland. Whether it was the 50s, 60s, or the 80s, they were definitely better times than 2024, that's for sure. Thanks for your comment, brother. It made me think of better times.
The hospitals in Rochester keep telling me they don't have sandwiches
This film is unusually well done. It's not of the "I was a Teenage Werewolf" type of drivel. A plus: it has a cast of many recognizable character actors of the time.
I agree, very well done. The Wolfman was a sympathetic character, made a monster not by his own choice. The true villains got theirs.
This weather-themed motion picture is a genuine timeless classic from the year 1956.
It is exceptionally enjoyable to watch, particularly in its classic black and white format.
Old movies are the best ! 🙂 This is one of the best.
I got scared !
Trash!
I like the newer stuff but the classics like this are the reasons I continue following this channel!
Agree agree AGREEEE
I love the old black and white movies.
You like new stuff ? The hell is wrong with you ?
@@leeinwisthe B&W movies have a wonderful quality we don’t see in 2024.
I have a large collection of these kind of movies from the '40's, '50's & '60's....
This is such a great film. Classic monster films will always be immortalized in film history.
This is one of my favorite old werewolf movies. I love watching horror movies of the 50s and 60s. They are so nostalgic and fun to watch. Thank you for posting it. ❤❤😊😊
Superb, i think this may be the 1st time it has ever been posted on YT, thanks a million!!!
Love it !! It is now the year 2024 😀This movie was made in Big Bear Lake in 1956 & I've lived in Big Bear since 1984. It's great seeing Old Big Bear in 1956. The people who owned "CHADS" sold the club in the early 2000s I believe. It's still there but under a different name. A lot of great interesting scenes of Big Bear. Big Bear was a Hot Spot for film making up until 90s early 2000s. Film crews always around doing shoots back then.
Interesting info, thanks
I've been watching Jackie and Shadow on big bear lake . What a coincidence . I would never have noticed that. That's so funny 🤣The eggs should hatch any time now 🤞I hope the werewolf stays away 😂
Wow ..thank you for the info I am jealous
Love the history of the place you added here....

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS MOVIE. It has not been available on RUclips before, and has been almost impossible to find. Well done movie that has been sadly unappreciated. Enjoyed watching this long lost treasure!
I remember this movie on creature feature. They had the best scary movies. It came on at 5 o'clock . We would always watch after dinner and our homework was done. I feel so sorry for that man.
OMG, I'm 63, consider myself a horror fan, and have never seen this one before! Loving it!
Werewolf?
There!
What?
There, wolf. There, castle.
Sorry, can't help but think of "Young Frankenstein" every time I watch a werewolf movie, or a Frankenstein movie.
Imagine if a werewolf sank its fangs into a swollen fart?
I love these old films. No messing no cgi straight to the point.
I love old black and white movies, this is one i hadn't seen before, i thought it was well done. Thanks!
Saw this in the theater (yeah, I know - don't start), and this was the scariest werewolf movie ever. When the feet in the alley changed places with the oxfords on top of the boots, I got creeped out right then, and the tension didn't let up.
That's a fine way for two doctors to be behaving! Even a man who is pure of heart and says his prayers by night, will become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms, and the moon is clear and bright.
Great movie!!!! Much better than all these modern movies.
If you think this is a brilliant movie you need to fling those slippers off and get out more as you've missed out on years of superb award winning masterpieces.
Thanks for the oldies, the best time in movies, unlike today...

Only B/W MOVIES ARE THE BEST.
This Is A CLASSIC Example..
Thank You ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Right on, about time! A reall classic movie.
Amazing clarity of film. Outstanding! I love these old films.
The Werewolf (1956) is a cool movie. Thank you for showing Creature Features. You rock.
What a classic gem!
Thank you for the video!!!! I just love these monster movies.
A twist on the werewolf story with radiation causing the mutation. But a dramatic presentation of a tragic story nonetheless. Well made with well known character actors.
Love these Ole classics ❤
Funny how I was watching I was a Teenage Werewolf (1957) earlier this week and then I wanted to see this one... But it wasn't on youtube and just like that you guys uploaded it lol
Thank you 🍻
I Remember Watching This Back In The 70's When I was A Teen 😊
Same here. I likely saw this on WGN Channel 9 out of Chicago, on their "Screaming Yellow Theater" program.
I'm going to watch this movie for the first time. Thank you RUclips 😅
Dis movie gets the popcorn 🍿🍿🍿 award it was very entertaining I've never seen a horror movie were you're rooting for the monster wishing that he could be saved 📽️
What a movie! I enjoyed every minute.
Thank you,for sharing this movie.
I watched this with my dad in 1971 WOW
Suddenly available and in perfect form ! Thank you so much ! It's been decades ! Have loved this tragic tale for 60 years ! Have the half sheet and one sheet posters. great artwork on both !
1956 great sharp copy with good sound
I was 14 in 1956 and saw this at the Capitol Theater in Augusta Maine probably with a serial chapter and a couple of cartoons.
Now that was a quite unorthodox - and a very good one too - werewolf movie. I guess it must have been ahead of its time when it first came out. 👍
Thanks for posting werewolf. Good movie.
i would rather live in the 50s than now
I grew up in the 50s man o man I feel like I lived on another planet back than America was fantastic back than. It was before the Democratic Party went radical nuts
Oh, you know it, sister 👍
Tailfins and bullet bras... 😅
I’d rather live with werwolf’s than now 😂
Definitely
Really good for a werewolf movie! Thanks for uploading!
Bravo bravo bravo awesome movie 🎥🎥🎥
Amazing how good the acting is in some of these old classics.
What a great The Wolfman inspiration🐺🎥🤘
Luv it when the bad guy gets whats coming to him.Great beginning.
It's a beautiful movie to watch. Thank you.
PROPER CREATURE FEATURE!
Great Movie, Thank you for uploading it!
I've only watched the first 5 minutes of it and I love it already!
I was looking for this classic movie. Brings back memories of my youth.
Love the old movies thank you

this movie is so incredible thank you 😊
Love the werewolf makeup.
They put a lot of thought and skill into making the prosthetics.
Man, the cop has an intense shave around his ears. I have never seen anything like it before. A man without sideburns casts an unexplainable fear in my heart for some reason but this guys haircut is the most terrifying thing I have ever seen.
A really good one . Thanks for showing it.
I remember seeing this movie in 1970s. It’s a great movie. I’d love the cast members and it’s well-made a lot better than teenage werewolf a real classic great character actors all around great movie❤
A good one! While I enjoy most of these horror/thriller movies I grew up watching some of course are much better than others. For me this one is pretty good!
Im on this one tonight. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍
I havent seen these movies in many many yearz these are great movies
What an intelligent sensitive movie. My God what happened to producers directors.
That's funny

I love the classic movies.
This is awesome 👍 thank you for the movie 😁
The actor who was the lead officer later was suited -up for the creature(on land) from the Black Lagoon in the 3rd of the Creature series,
The Creature Walks Among Us!
Gotta love the Wolfster.
Filmed on location in Big Bear, Ca. It's where I live.
Very good movie, thank you
What a great old spooky movie 👍
Wonderful movie!
Great movie! I haven't heard of it before. Thanks for the upload!!
Кроме " Человека- волка" (1941) с Лоном Чени, из старых фильмов не видел. Большое спасибо. Это для меня открытие! 👍👍👍
That was surprisingly good, enjoyed it.
Imma gen xer and i love horror movies from the 50s&60s best horror movies back then for sure better actors 💯 & storyline plots i love this movie big time 💯 there's another good one its with Michael Landon i was a teenage werewolf that was an excellent One! Much love and respect!
Very good movie so thanks.
Born in 52. First time seeing this. Thanks
Fantastic film, i love it. Thanks for sharing, i enjoyed watching The Werewolf.
He does take his shoes off. I really like the makeup design. Its minimal. No prosthetics, only hair and face paint. That's the direction Paul Naschy also took in his films. It would have been more effective to use actual canine sounds like in The Wolfman, than human sounding snarling. Still this is a great Big Bear B Movie. Love it.
Classic movies r so relaxing
Always thought he was more of a werefox. Cute black button nose, cute ears, nice coloring, even nice smile and calm voice. Not at all a threat 😂
Wonderful movie, thank you
The old werewolf films made my cry when Lon Chaney jr changed back into the man when he was killed.
was actually pretty good..plot and script well balanced.
That sheriff is a hunk!😊😊
Yes - I saw this film at the cinema way back when - pretty good but I thought it to be tragic.
Old school horror movies 👍👍👍👍👍
A Good 🎥in a fine clear print,Thanks 😉
Absolutely Brilliant Keep Them Coming
I saw this movie in TV when I was bine unit was a really good story edit wise as well as hairy and creepy good one
Always enjoyed watching the old classics 👌 get away from the new stuff.
Thanks
Thank you 🤩🤩🤩💖💖
George Lynn (Doctor Chambers) played Inspector Gerlach twelve years earlier in HOUSE OF FRANKENSTEIN. He's the one that ran Dr. Neimann and Daniel off.
good movie i can watch it any time now.
