My cousin Sheldon, who played Lew the lusty lab assistant in this film, died last Thursday at the ripe age of 95. He was a husband and father, and though he never really made it as an actor he was so handsome and suave and cool that having him in the family was like being related to James Bond. He was also far more urbane and witty in real life than he was ever allowed to be onscreen. Peace on your journey, Cousin.
Thank you for sharing About Sheldon! I saw this movie as a young kid in the 70’s on a late night scary movie double feature. I thought the movie was really interesting at the time. As an adult it’s great to learn about the people involved in something one remembers from their childhood. Maybe you could help make a Wikipedia page for Sheldon, I noticed there wasn’t one.
Well not for nothing Micheal, but to me Sheldon was a pretty good character actor , I remember him fondly on a episode of "13 demon Street" ... nonetheless I want to add that I admired his work as a actor and may he R.I.P. 🌟 🙏
The patient is told there is a surgeon in England. They get to England and the Dr is speaking with an American accent to the patient who now speaks with an English one. Such continuity!! You have to love it!!.
Well maybe pay more attention, the doctor told him the physician in London is an American, and the patient speaks the same as in did when he was in New York, and his accent isn’t British or his name

I thought oh god this is going to be rubbish...until I watched it and found it most entertaining 😊 Excellent actors. Love George Coulouris always brilliant 😊😊
😂😂😂Equal parts hilarious and bizarre. I love how everyone was just going about their job not thinking that any of this was in the least bit unusual. Great Halloween backdrop movie like Bride of Frankenstein
One of those flicks that always sticks with you no matter how many sci-fi horror films you watch over the years ... my Mom really liked this movie a great deal ... me ? I love it ... love it so much that I have it on VHS , not to watch but to have it in my collection 👌🏻
They resurrected the brain of one of the greatest minds in history, then leave him alone with a raging maniac.... LOL Great film by the way, thank for sharing!
The over 400 year old head of Nostradamus is taken to a cheesy lab with a doctor brilliant enough to bring it to life. AND Nostradamus can now speak...........In English!! What fun.....😆
AND…….to have access to the coffin, which has a lid that can be slid to one side easily. Lol lol lol. This craziness really made this movie quite entertaining.
Always enjoyed the British horror and science fiction movies of the 1950s. They had straight forward serious acting, no nonsense and no silly characters like many American science fiction and horror movies do.
Omg, the ending!I won’t spoil it. Lol. I started laughing. One of those laughs where as you continue there’s no more sounds or just little squeaky noises coming out.😂😂😅
Thank you for posting this! I have never seen it, much less heard of it, but with George Coulouris starring and W. Lee Wilder co-directing, I know what I'm going to be watching this Labor Day weekend!! (Actually, I probably won't wait for the weekend, but watch it tonight!) Wilder made many entertaining low-budget films like The Glass Alibi and its remake The Big Bluff, and a unique early noir called The Pretender with Albert Dekker that featured fantastic photography by noir specialist John Alton.
OMG! I'm just glad I wasn't drinking a beer during the ending. Beer coming out your nose is painful. This is weird and hilarious. Thank you, I loved it.
Then there was the movie where Ray Milland and Rosey Grier's heads shared the same body...oh yeah, "The Thing with Two Heads" that was the title of the movie.
1957 London I love the streets with hardly any traffic and the old motors. Today the notorious M25, Congestion charges & all the rest. Did Nostradamus predict that I wonder ? Love the ending. Thanx
Obviously inspired by the superior "Donovan's Brain," this movie has enough original ideas & just plain weirdness to make it worth watching, for psychotronic film fans. "Donovan's Brain" shows up on RUclips now & then & there's also a radio adaptation starring Orson Wells that is on RUclips.
You might be right however there were a few Nostrodamus themed films from Mexico around the same time. One was the Curse of Nostradamus - a vampire classic.
The Doc was totally off his game, if I had a beautiful assistant like her working by my side I would know the color of her eyes, hair, her dress size, shoe size, ring size, waist size and any other size pertaining to her👍🏽😂
Wonderful print of W. Lee Wilder's most bizarre film. I've been trying to convince MST3K/Rifftrax/The Mads to do this one for years. It'd be an instant classic.
Well, thanks for the comment it's the best print on the internet. There's actually an mkv of it with serbian subtitles floating around like Nostrodamus' head - this mp4 was derived from it.
Wow 😮, and back in the early 70s this flick was shown so many times , on Chiller Theatre WPIX channel 11 , Creature Features WNEW channel 5 and Fright Night WOR channel 9 ... yep I still have a good memory 😊👍
Gotta love how the Frenchman Nostrodamus immediately starts speaking English when his brain is brought back to life hundreds of years after his death in Paris! 🤣🤣🤣
Now that you mention it, I just realised that every doctor and dentist I've ever had, has been a cigarette smoker like myself. Like, what are the chances?
Now how do you use Nostradamus' brain and head after so long? It would be a skull if even that! I know the doctor said he could revive tissue, but really...
After all, the old, black & white Is horror movies I've seen I'm surprised I missed this. I live in a Detroit area. I never seen this on Sir Graves gasley or creature feature Are on the Goule. All them shows have been off since the early seventies To the early eighties
26:54 Of course , those were the days when you could bring a human brain through Customs without too much trouble 😉 And only a month ago I was stopped for trying to bring a bottle of shampoo through. How times have changed.

Your cousin was so awesome, and we are honored you shared that you are related. This is such an imaginative work, and we loved him. Cheers.
Born in 1955, this movie is really freaky. At 67 and a half I have never seen this movie before😮
Wow 😮 , and it was shown so many times back in the early 70s
Never saw it either
You must be 67 and three quarters by now!
Same here!
I'm 70...and never even heard of it! Thanks for posting it.🤔😳😂
Anything 50s is my fave and I love them!
The sick old man moves really quick when the chips are down.
The patient is told there is a surgeon in England. They get to England and the Dr is speaking with an American accent to the patient who now speaks with an English one. Such continuity!! You have to love it!!.

Love the eyeball they keep alive...👁
And with no juice to keep it moist.
The more I see it,the more I love it.Gloriously mad!
Good and entertaining movie. Thanks for posting!
Love it "Nostro's head speaking English"
😂😂😂
Great old film and a very nice print
I has forgotten about this movie, saw this on channel 9 in the middle 1960s and enjoyed it.
Yes Randy , me as well except I saw it in the early 70s channel 9 👍😊
Wonderful movie. I love the old movies. 🙂👍
I thought oh god this is going to be rubbish...until I watched it and found it most entertaining 😊
Excellent actors.
Love George Coulouris always brilliant 😊😊
If you have a hour or so to invest ,the flick "The Woman Eater" is pretty cool, fun and entertaining 👍
@rafaelramirez1507 OK thanks 😊
That's one way to get ahead!
Great bandage job on Nostradamus.😊
😂😂
Of all the heads to grab in this crazy mixed up world! Michel de Nostredame!!!!!
Lovely!Better than any 'respectable ' Oscar movie any day .
😂😂😂Equal parts hilarious and bizarre. I love how everyone was just going about their job not thinking that any of this was in the least bit unusual.
Great Halloween backdrop movie like Bride of Frankenstein

"the man with 2 brains" comes to mind.
Thanks for the film. I'm 65 and watched a lot of late night horror shows, but I've never seen this on any of them. They missed a good one.
Enjoyable...thanks for sharing :)
They resurrected the brain of one of the greatest minds in history, then leave him alone with a raging maniac.... LOL
Great film by the way, thank for sharing!
Kept me watching
Looks cool. Gotta watch..
I like how Nostradamus got included in the movie 😊
The greatest story ever told
Beautiful print friend!☝
Bizarre but so so funny. The ending is priceless. Thanks so much for sharing.
This is the best quality of this old film that I've ever seen. Thanks for posting it!
thx for the comment.
65 years old, but very interesting, Thanks from Italy
I love this!
I love old movies
Robert Hutton from The Slime People!! Thanks for posting this film.

... Nostradamus was A Barnsley Lad By Eck!!!!… 😂
He's a quick study.
It wouldn't matter if he spoke in his French as modern French wouldn't understand him.
Nobody can truthfully say these movies age well!
Lately, every sci-fi movie I see nowadays seems like a SNL skit! 😂
Thanks for posting
I'm glad I stumbled on to this! Ha! You gotta love the madness these men suffered from! So realistic!
Always enjoyed the British horror and science fiction movies of the 1950s. They had straight forward serious acting, no nonsense and no silly characters like many American science fiction and horror movies do.
A good 🎥,Thanks 😉
8:52 😮😂 Listen! It’s the “T’pocketa T’pocketa machine” !!!! No sci-fi film is complete without it. ❤ Love it ! 🍿🍿🍿
A surprisingly effective, dark little B film with good acting and a wonderfully bizarre plot. Thank you for posting.
Thank you ❣️
I never saw this movie either. Love it! 👍
Omg, the ending!I won’t spoil it. Lol. I started laughing. One of those laughs where as you continue there’s no more sounds or just little squeaky noises coming out.😂😂😅

Great sound preservation
Truly strange, creepy and surreal film that deserves more attention. The ending is pretty shocking, even today!
I turned 11 years old in 1957😊
I can't believe I watched the whole thing. 😅
OMG! I'm just glad I wasn't drinking a beer during the ending. Beer coming out your nose is painful. This is weird and hilarious. Thank you, I loved it.
Why, this might be the greatest film . . . ever . . made . . .
!!
It's up there.
Corny but it passed the time and made me laugh, dare I say I enjoyed it
I haven’t laughed so much and out loud at a movie for such a long time , thank you
Right there with ya! Haha! Crazy British humour with such twisted tragicomedy
@rogerscottcathey this was an american film. The doctor of course should be an americain working in Europe 😂😂
Thank you.
Best copy on the internet.
You got that right ! Thank you for bringing it to all of us.
Indeed it is 👍
What an interesting and odd movie. They packed a lot of drama in such a short movie.
WOW...that ending was raw AF...whew...everybody gets what they deserve!!
Then there was the movie where Ray Milland and Rosey Grier's heads shared the same body...oh yeah, "The Thing with Two Heads" that was the title of the movie.
Great comedy, haven’t laughed so much for years.
A great watch more exsceple than the modern versions ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Connecting with similar minds is a potential survival need
The patient smoking in the lab. "Winston" takes good like a cigarette should.
😂😂
1957 London I love the streets with hardly any traffic and the old motors. Today the notorious M25, Congestion charges & all the rest. Did Nostradamus predict that I wonder ? Love the ending. Thanx
Thanks
Not bad for a low budget B flick. Tku for post.

Nostradamus, not Nosferatu?
Nosferatu?
@@watchgoose No.
The roles of Logic and Plausibility, were played by no-one and nobody, respectively.
My sentiments exactly. I was yelling at the screen half the time and then at some point I just started laughing.
@@Hollystein it seemed to get sillier as it went on!
So bad, it’s good 👍
Subscribed 😁
The physiology of the head of Nostradamus is so preposterous it's actually interesting.
Based on a true story
REALLY??? **Tell us more about it.
Sure it was.
Please, don't give Joe Biden any encouragement! 🤕
@ also old a$$ trumpe
The Doc was totally off his game, if I had a beautiful assistant like her working by my side I would know the color of her eyes, hair, her dress size, shoe size, ring size, waist size and any other size pertaining to her👍🏽😂
Thanks!!
love how he is smoking while getting his brain charted, ha!
Yup!
The filmmakers of " The brain that wouldnt die" (1962) must have been inspired by this movie wich was released 5 years earlier.
Another good Sci-Fi film!😊
I agree@@susanfaulkner2304
Sequel “Man Without A Head”…….👍
Wonderful print of W. Lee Wilder's most bizarre film. I've been trying to convince MST3K/Rifftrax/The Mads to do this one for years. It'd be an instant classic.
Well, thanks for the comment it's the best print on the internet. There's actually an mkv of it with serbian subtitles floating around like Nostrodamus' head - this mp4 was derived from it.
Good news my friend, a Rifftrax of this just got released.
Nadja Regin was a very lovely woman.....she was in a couple of early James Bond movies as well.
that was a gruesome ending for a movie made in 1957
There is another enjoyable gem thar I recommend, "The thing that couldn't die" 😊👍
I've seen just about every '50s sci-fi but never even heard of this .. totally cooool climax .. I'm not sure what some found to be funny
Wow 😮, and back in the early 70s this flick was shown so many times , on Chiller Theatre WPIX channel 11 , Creature Features WNEW channel 5 and Fright Night WOR channel 9 ... yep I still have a good memory 😊👍
The lady's accent kept me watching.
This movie makes no sense but it's entertaining.
Given how famous Nostradamus was, I'm surprised that nobody ever named a high school after him. Nostradamus High School. Has a certain "ring" to it.
Based on the short story "Hw to get a head in life".
Gotta love how the Frenchman Nostrodamus immediately starts speaking English when his brain is brought back to life hundreds of years after his death in Paris! 🤣🤣🤣
He was a quick study.
Tinha que ter mais filme assim
Gotta love a personal doctor who helps you get your cigarette.
and one who smokes in a lab full of chemicals !!!
I think you had to smoke to be a Doctor in those days.
Now that you mention it, I just realised that every doctor and dentist I've ever had, has been a cigarette smoker like myself. Like, what are the chances?
When asked how do you do, no one ever answers😅
Now how do you use Nostradamus'
brain and head after so long? It would be a skull if even that! I know the doctor said he could revive tissue, but really...
Pretty corny...but fun. This is no classic like Frankenstein, but the whole Nostradomis brain within the plot kept me watching til the end!
Man without a body that's me living as a ghost 👻
After all, the old, black & white Is horror movies I've seen I'm surprised I missed this. I live in a Detroit area. I never seen this on Sir Graves gasley or creature feature Are on the Goule. All them shows have been off since the early seventies To the early eighties
On the next Svengoolie!
Entertaining. More so than many modern gorefests these days.
26:54 Of course , those were the days when you could bring a human brain through Customs without too much trouble 😉
And only a month ago I was stopped for trying to bring a bottle of shampoo through. How times have changed.
1:10:38 - attack of the killer turnip.
1:17:19 - beware the floating turnip!
(btw, I love this cheesy flick. great upload, Paul!)
Not a bad Movie; typical of the Times it was made in.
I wonder if this movie inspired The Brain that Wouldn't Die a couple of years later?
Jan in the pan😄
Nostradamus giving out bad stock tips !!! ah oh Broussard is going to smack his head off that lab table lol!! too funny!
UPCOMING MOVIE
The Woman with a Hot Body
@47:07 Doctor telling a regenerated head that ; "We have regenerated dead tissue."
The head answers back; "You don't say?"
😂😂😂
