HTC another great device after 10.
I'm definitely passing on a s8 to get this phone for sure. After owning the m8 I have missed a bit of boomsound in my life. This is the best phone on the market for any one who isn't afraid to really do some research
I still have the m8.. it's still as responsive the day I bought it. battery is a little worn but it lasts. just can't let go of the dual front speakers
the active noise cancellation is a major go on this device ! nice htc liked how the features are packed in
This better be a good replacement for my iPhone 7.
Muqri Musa Actually, it is very similar to the iP7 except it takes one step upward on almost every aspect.
I currently have a Samsung s7. Don't like the s8 at all, think Ill be considering this device.

I'll keep using my s7 for as long as I can. But after the nougat update, let's just say it's not what it used to be.
leolionhunt I'd rather go back to an iPhone, than get a Galaxy s8. Like I said ill use my s7 until it dies.

HTC has always been funny with naming their handsets...This one is third of the U-Series, and the 11th flagship, hence U11... I'm still rocking my "Last of the Tank Flagships" (M-Series) HTC 10, and will be for a couple of years more, at least...

Would love to try this phone out before committing to pre-order.. I have the LG G6 and it's a huge disappointment coming from the HTC M9 (battery died). Going to have to use a cheapo in the interim if I return the LG G6 before 5/21 for just restocking.. may be worth it.
i loving this phone ... this phone is actually usefull and have more improvement than the s8 shity tall phone

Of course it would work with a case. It's pressure sensitive not touch sensitive like a screen. If you apply pressure it'll respond.

Despite some of the hate in the comments, I think this looks like a fantastic phone with great specs and camera (judging by DxOmark) and a polarising design but unfortunately, it's 2017 and since LG and Samsung release phones with 2:1 aspect screens with barely-there top and bottom bezels, this just isn't going to cut it.

especially with those frame drops the s8 has, and the unremappable bixby button. Why wouldn't you want a $750+ device that lags out of the box.
leolionhunt Actually it is better than the S8 on the paper except the Infinite display... Compare anything else and you'll get a tie or a win to HTC
lol you're not a tech guy are you... how do you put VR as an S8 advantage while HTC has VIVE and S8 is a powerhouse when it has the same processor (SD 835) and same ram? Try the benchmark tools which I'm sure you have no idea about judging by your reply😂
okay S8 has an own personal assistant so does the U11... in fact it has 3 Ai assistants

P.S. -Sqeeze is possible through most covers except plastic or metal ones. Speaking of developing forearms trying to squeeze this thing, actually the pressure sensitivity is adjustable.

I find it funny that some consumers are complaining about the price of this device but I sell about 22k a week in IPhone 7P 128 GB and it's not a terrible device but it's not a great one either.
I've noticed that the big name reviewers hate the U11, and the smaller reviewers like it. Hummmm
There are two spec on U11.
One is 64GB of storage with 4g Ram, the other one is 128GB of storage with 6g Ram.

GxO gave the HTC 10 an 88 which is in-line with the S7 and S8, but it proved to not be as good in nearly every comparison review. I'm not sure that I trust them that much anymore, considering that and the fact that they are payed to review devices
Leolionhunt, until u know that type c to 3.5mm adapter actually has a dedicated built-in DAC and the fact that S8 doesn't even has any dedicated DAC.

first of all, if a phone has a screen I would not call it a "galaxy like screen" just to give credit to Samsung for nothing :D and in general I like the look of this phone (bezels are ugly to me when they are bigger like in some Sony phones) and its hardware is on the level of other current flagship (galaxy like)
+ I could easily compare it to galaxy s8 and this phone would beat it when it comes to software, the camera and probably will be better in performance (those things are really important to me), but galaxy is better just when it comes to design and screen to body ratio
so people are giving this phone too much crap and too much praise for the galaxy S8, I would probably pick G6 over both of these or wait for the Nokia 9 :D
Rokas Anonimas basically you just did not like the design.. I like u11 cause is stylish and it packs serious innovations. Like sonar like ear canal scan earplugsand +noise cancellation that's awesome, bezels are not that important to me but i can see we are different type of consumers. This bezeless trend to me takes some of product identity because you can no longer know differences between products and if in the future phones were to be all screen in the front everything would practically looked the same. That's boring.
actually I do like the design but S8's design is just better and I do like slimmer bezels but I do prefer the "old" 16:9 ratio :)

Rokas Anonimas Haha nope. Galaxy is pretty but that's it. I like things that express something and you can make your own. That's why i could not have an iPhone or an S galaxy again. They are pretty but boring. This one makes you have and opinion. Besides i love tech and since i also love fashion i used to be a Lumia Guy and before a Nokia fashion phones consumer. Lumia 920 in red with ceramic buttons omg 😍😍😍 I'd like to have a xiaomi mi mix but it's almost impossible to get.

I really feel bad for HTC. This phone is no match for HTC 10. Not to mention it can't convince any Samsung or iPhone user ever. The specs are there, but somehow this doesn't look like a high end device.

Unless the adapter has a built in DAC which should be able to outperform other flagship phone like S8 that doesn't even has any dedicated DAC.

Trump-MAGA GOP The u11 design can't like s8 because the volume of two speaker is very big, that sound quality is very good. S8 and G6 only have one speaker.
張根溢 fuck the dual speakers. I love HTC and especially u 11 camera /video and the hardware... Very stunning. But it's too damn big, too shinny, too girly design. Make it small like my M10. I'll keep my hopes up for next year.

I'd rather have the HTC U 11's fingerprint sensor than the S8's ridiculously placed one which requires some hand gymnastics.
BubooBear Who uses a fingerprint scanner when you have an iris scanner? I have an S8 and never even thought of registering my fingerprint, face recognition is also wonderful but since they say it's not secure enough I use the iris and both are super fast.
mctaboo, my comment was a reply in regards to the fingerprint button placement and did not mention anything about an iris scanner. However, since you've mentioned the iris scanner, it is not always accurate and does not work that well during bright sunlight or very dark areas (even says it when you set-up the feature). Besides, it is always faster to just scan your fingerprint instead of having to wake the screen and look at your phone.
Nothing turns the tide for HTC. This is definitely uneventful, dull, boring typical HTC no significance here.
