I remember LaDix's reaction to the first episodes of this show. He said how he was skeptical of watching a 'show for little girls', and now he is so proud of each and every characters growth throughout the years. This just goes to show how good of a show this is.
***** While the season finale was great (it managed to beat out Tanks for the Memories for my second favorite episode of the season), it does have some issues, whereas this episode is practically perfect.
Why does Spoiled Rich even send her daughter to that school? So she can be the big fish in a small pond. She's rich enough to send Diamond to some ritzy private academy in Manehattan or Canterlot, but then she wouldn't be able to throw her weight around and single-hoofedly fund new additions, repairs, etc, wrap the administration around her hoof and influence student council elections. But anyway... I've been waiting for your reaction, for a while now, trying to find out what you would say... (sung to the tune of the, um, yeah.)
Wonderful reaction, LaDix! Actually for the last song originally Diamond had a verse as well, which was Daniel Ingram's favourite part from the song, but it had to be cut due to time. I wonder what she was supposed to sing. We might get to hear it in a future release of MLP songs.
If they had to cut _something_ from that end song for time, I can see why they would choose Diamond's part. She already had her own song, and a reprise just moments before, all to herself. It seems appropriate to let the crusaders (and their sisters) have _their_ song's reprise entirely to themselves as the other side of the coin.
fun fact: this episode aired on the 5th anniversary of the show. it's amazing you could get a chance to watch this episode, easily top 5 in the series for me. And the happiness this episode provokes on people is contagious.
+Yozhel Glez Best episode this season BAR NONE! Better than the premier, better than the finale. Nothing in this episode since the first airing has ceased to make me cry which is an achievement in itself. Let me make this crystal clear: I teared up at Tanks for the Memories and Amending Fences once or twice, but I didn't cry at Lullaby for a Princess: the animation (song still gets to me though), I didn't cry when Luna started crying about how everything the beast she made did was her fault and why she made it. But THIS! This. After all they've been though, after all they've done. Yes. Yes. Yes! All of my yes's!
The real miracle is that Hasbro kept their mouth shut until the episode aired; they usually advertise big changes like this at least a month in advance, which has always annoyed me. I'm honestly surprised that they didn't put the marks on a toy or something and spoil it for everyone before the episode. But now that they have their new theme of helping others get their marks, I'm hoping for a potential Button Mash centered episode where they help him get his mark (even if he would sound wrong and break fanon)
Considering that the entire theme of this season was shaping up to be centered around cutie marks, it seems obvious in hindsight that this would have been the season the CMC would get their marks. I'm surprised we didn't see this coming.

+Revkor the shield is actually needed because without it they wouldn't crusaders of cutie marks, but i do agree with the color scheme, how about just changing the 3 mane colors to their own mane color, plus they are kinda small(even for fillies)

Between reactions and just watching it on my own, I must have seen this episode 20 times by now, and yet I still felt my eyes getting damp when it happened.
Amazing episode, it's easily in my top 5. We've watched the girls struggle for five years... which only makes this moment that much more magical. And it's alright, LaDix, this episode had that effect on pretty much everyone. The hospital called and all of our sons lived. Cutie Mark Crusaders forever indeed!

lol a couple things stand out to me. during the song on the way to the school, diamond tiaras mom is not there, in fact they pass her on the way. so how the frick was she inside the school before they got there?- also, they got their cutie marks cause they not only stopped forcing it, but came to peace with not having it.
no one expected this episode, you could say the fandom was shocked. if you think about it the only reason why the cmcs destinies was change was because of diamond herself. diamond was the one who brought them together but backfired allowing the cmcs to grow and turn the table back on diamond.

I was misty eyed during this and I cried once the song started and couldn't stop until 5 mins after it ended. Why couldn't THIS have been a facecam. This actually remind me a lot of MMC spending most of the time on DT's redemption then a little bit and a song on the CMC and their cutie marks just like spending most of MMC on the switched cutie marks then a little bit plus a song about Twilight's coronation. I only wish that that next episode focused on this like Princess Twilight Sparkle and EqG did with Princess Twilight but... this was the last CMC episode of the season. I just realized that the colors on the shields were the same colors as their mane colors. In Sweetie Belle's case, her pink mane color.
