i knew Todd when we both attended Coventry Elementry and Roosevelt Jr High in Cleveland...late 60ties. we were friends. Todd had many friends.he was the guy other guys wanted to be and the guy girls wanted to be with.his CHARISMA was off the roof. killer smile and 1 cool cat! he WAS our class HERO :). not surprised he became a famous rock star. you heard "rich girl" by hall and oates? it is Todd on guitar :) you heard "ebony eyes" by bob welch? it is todd sharp on guitar :) ....yes he was in both bands and also was in the rod stewart band...did a world tour as clapton's second guitarist....was on mick fleetwood's solo album in africa...was in the delbert mcclintock band....the christine mcvie band and many more!# NOW YOU KNOW THE REST OF THE STORY
Todd is a living legend. A fantastic guitar player ...especially on Christine's Album. Todd refined the songs with his pearly stratocaster sounds and noble playing style. Overall, this album is completely underrated. Many thanks to Truetone for this valuable interview.
This is one of the great guitarplayers. Let us hope Sharp makes another soloalbum, he is also a fine singer /songwriter. I think it would be perfect timing.....
Great Stories! I had 3 vintage amps refreshed by Todd's Amplifier Service. He was very generous with his time and his JOAT Amp is Is the only amp I would consider buying new! I fell in love with this amp series the minute I heard it. Has to be heard to really be appreciated. In addition Todd's melodic Style puts him in the top tier of players.
Todd rebuilt a Blackface Pro Reverb for me many years ago, Vintage 30's and making like 50 watts, killer toneHe brought it to me in KC in the belly of Delbert McClinton's tour bus, wonderful mojo for my amp.
Saw you in Sacramento when I was 13 with Hall & Oates although a proggy kid and way into Frank Marino, still you blew my mind A crystal clear recollection of your impact on me is still with me Brilliant career and much love
Awesome interview with some great stories in this one.. Todd in this interview mentions on a few occasions the session musician / producer Christopher Bond.. he was noted at the time in the seventies for such a young musician as he was a genius...he did produce a few other bands after Hall & Oates but then totally disappeared..I believe i read somewhere that he totally gave up the music game and went into computer engineering...You should try to get hold of him if possible..
Todd played with hall+oates...rod stewart band...bob welch band...christine mcvie band...toured with clapton...part of delbert mcclintock band....flew to africa to be on mick fleetwood solo album....he was busy as hell with MUSIC :)
Thank you for this interview. These are the most intriguing new amps to come out in a long time. It wouldn't surprise me if these are the new Dumbles, in that they are very expressive and responsive while being unique, to my ears at least. Not that I think they sound like Dumbles, I just think they seem to achieve the same results of letting the player "play" the amp.
+Truetone Oh, great job interviewing also! So many interviewers cut off the subject's answers, talk over them and are generally not very knowledgable of who they are speaking with. Your experience in the music industry and background shows and greatly improves your questions and ability to interact with guest. Thank you very much for doing these.
We do this show to tell guitarist's stories. It is not about us. We are also trying to expose lesser known players that we feel should be better known by the public. Thank you for your kind words.

No disrespect but Todd didn't play guitar on Bob Welch's LP "French Kiss."

They are very impressive amps. In part 2, we will talk more about the amps. Part 3 will be an amp demo.
+Truetone I look forward to it!
