Even better, he was like "I can forgive you for hanging out on my ship for 2 weeks all while planning to murder me, but I draw the line at frat bro behavior" ffffsssss
My favourite thing about Stede being horrified by the story of Ed setting that ship on fire is that the two of them literally did that together three episodes ago. Like Stede was watching in glee as the room caught flames.
to be fair, the rich people set the boat on fire themselves, and there was clearly ample time to get off the boat before it was totally engulfed. also they were clearly terrible people, while jack doesn't specify who exactly the ship full of people they set on fire were. i think it's an interesting illustration of how stede isn't actually that averse to violence, just to pointless cruelty. he's happy to let the rich people burn their own boat down, but deliberately setting a fire for the purposes of killing people on a ship is going way too far.
To be fair, Calico Jack said Ed _trapped_ the entire crew _then_ set the ship on fire. That's full intent to cause a painful death. Meanwhile, Stede just read a bunch of aristocrats to filth and they freaked out and set their OWN ship on fire and just, kept fighting with each other instead of stamping it out. Stede, his crew and the Entire serving staff were able to get off the boat to safety WITH everything Frenchie & Oluwande stole. That means the ship burned very slowly and the folks at the party would have every chance to escape if they just put their pride aside.
laughed in horror at your izzy impression, that was impressive! also who else's brain chemistry was permanently altered by everything from the moment the drums of 'the chain' kicks in to the "never left" *winks* to ed sliding his boot over and stede's little answering foot wiggle as the guitar solo goes crazy?
The way I SCREAMED when Jack killed Karl and you said "Get off the ship now" mere moments before Stede did. This is YOUR show, you belong on that pirate ship, and you should have a cameo in S2 as far as I am concerned. I truly hope you noticed the boot touch in the last scene, I've been screaming about that for months now.
Adam, DID YOU CATCH THE FOOT TOUCH? (I missed it on my first viewing because I was too busy gazing at them gazing at each other.) What an ending! What a moment! To have Ed choose to go back when they're all going to get arrested is so romantic, ahhhh. I'm really excited for you to watch the last two. Also, your Izzy impression is excellent, five stars.
Also can we talk about the use of The Chain and the choreography of that whole scene??? 😚👌 All of the music selected for the show is SO good, and I cannot wait to see what they use for s2!
i saw all the comments and i was STILL shocked with your izzy impression, amazing!!! XD another fun thing to note is how in this ep, stede is technically in izzy's shoes in that he is seeing a side of ed that he never saw before and he doesn't like it. just a fun parallel between the two regarding their relationship with ed
ADAM! IM HOWLING AT YOUR IZZY IMPRESSION AJHSSJKA The last sequence with 'the chain' playing in the background is immaculate, impeccable, perfection *chef's kiss* AND COUPLED WITH THE FOOT TOUCH!? IMPROVISED BY THE MADMAN TAIKA! So. Good. Can't wait for the final two episodes!
What makes your reviews so entertaining to watch is that you pause and take the time to process the scenes and come up with your own predictions. Its so fun to hear your thoughts and I love that you dont rush through the whole thing! Im super excited to see you finish the next two episodes!
I love this episode a lot, just for the fact that it's so beautiful to see how much the crew cane to appreciate and like Stede. oluwande sleeping (or trying to) in Stede's cabin, and telling him that no, Calico Jack doesn’t have nicer hair than him, Lucius caring about him and patting his hand to comfort him and the way everyone screamed at Pete to shut up as to not upset their captain. also the "divorce talk" scene and thE FOOT TOUCH, AAAAH
i like viewing this episode through the lens of addiction, myself. ed is trying to get clean (be more of a gentleman), and he finds support from stede, who shows him how to make room for unpleasant emotions without resorting to his drug of choice (the bloodthirsty blackbeard persona). then someone from ed's junkie days comes back, and ed falls back into old habits (pointless cruelty). the end of the episode is ed choosing to own up to the pain his actions have caused stede and to pursue a better future with him. you can also literally see ed drinking considerably more than usual when jack is around, which is what made me think of the addiction metaphor in the first place. ed and stede have nice alcohol in nice glasses, while ed and jack guzzle rum straight from the bottle until they eventually pass out.
RIP Karl, ye shall be missed! Caliko Jack's death was too fast for what he deserved, imo. People have mentioned that the boot touch at the end was improvised, but apparently it was also Taika's idea for Ed to scream at Jack to whip his balls 🤣 I can hardly wait for next episode's reaction, so excited! 💜🏳️🌈🏴☠️
Considering we don't see a body(like we didn't see Roach's body when he jumped off from the ship's mast, hit it, and then fell into the water), I suspect that(like with Roach, who comes back all fine later in this episode) perhaps Calico Jack didn't ACTUALLY die yet. Maybe, just MAYBE, we might see more of him in Season 2(if not in flashback, assuming they intend to show what ACTUALLY might've happened when Ed set fire to that ship(I can't help but suspect it to be an accident that he covered up to act like he did it on purpose(MUCH LIKE STEDE WHEN HE HAD TO PRETEND TO HAVE HAD PURPOSEFULLY KILLED BADMINTON WAY BACK IN EPISODE 1, MY GOD THE PARALLELS!!!). Imagine if they had Stede confront Ed about this information and they BOTH reveal the truths behind their reputations! Or MAYBE he was actually PEER PRESSURED by others(if not Jack himself) into doing it(maybe portray that as the moment a NOTICEABLY younger looking Izzy(like imagine how funny it would be that, like with revealing Spanish Jackie to only be 25 but looking older due to rage in this episode, that they reveal Izzy to actually only be 16(like his real life counterpart) but who has ALSO aged WORSE than Jackie because of rage AND internal sexual repression) would join Blackbeard's crew.) even!), but WHO KNOWS!!!
YESSSSS I LOVE YOUR REACTIONS TO OFMD AND CANT WAIT FOR MORE, they're all adorable and Lucius is an icon. ALSO did you notice that Ed and Stede's feet touch at the very end, THAT is romance!
I legit mourned the bird. That was one of the saddest moment in the series for me. Let me just make a point, Will Arnett, who plays the douche, is a really thoughtful and intelligent guy IRL. He does a podcast called Smartless with Sean Hayes and Jason Bateman that is so intelligent and compassionate. Just a reminder that the kindest, most empathetic people can create the best villains.
Ok, seriously did you miss the boot touch between Stede and Ed at the end? I loved that! And excellent use of Fleetwood Mac's The Chain! And yes, to Jackie husbands should be like Kleenex. Soft, strong and disposable.
dude "Jackie's the love of my life!" Jackie*casually shoots the guy like my dude, I've had about 8734826 husbands and wives who even are you Imma make out with that hot nonbinary person who's threatening me rn*
i LOVE your reaction to this episode! It's so great to see how invested and how much you love the crew. and yeah jack totally got what he deserved lol. lucius is the mvp honestly. love how he went from being ok with mutiny against stede to supporting him like this
AAAA I was waiting for something to watch while eating breakfast (it's 11 am in Argentina) IM SO EXCITED YOU UPLOADED AAAA Calico Jack is THE WORST - I think Ed with Calico has to fake this extreme masculinity; Stede is the only person Ed can be himself with, because he embraces his true personality (picking flowers, etc). AND THE CHAIN SCENE WITH THE TOES TOUCHING AAA I can't wait for the next episode, i love your reactions so muchh
You made me smile! I love watching you watch this show. I'm not sure how you are managing to stay un-spoiled with so many people screaming about it. You do Izzy's voice really well. And you have so much joy! You show it all in your face. It's so nice.
Guardians of the Galaxy may have introduced me to ‘The Chain’, but THIS made me fall in love with the song. Also still sad about Karl. THE BIRD WAS INNOCENT! HE HAD A FAMILY!
This episode stresses me out SO MUCH because of all the Jack stuff, but then it makes up for it in the last few minutes. I also tell friends watching it for the first time that they have to just watch 8-9-10 together because it's TOO MUCH to try and pause in between. Apparently it's just as bad now having to wait for you watching 9 and 10 LOL. (also, I love your Izzy voice. XD)
REACTORS ALWAYS MISS THE FOOTSIE AT THE END!!! 😱😵🥺😞I saw it RIGHT AWAY and was obsessed over it afterwards! Oh well, hopefully you noticed it when you were editing. Ok, so I cannot WAIT for your reaction to the last 2 episodes --- but I'm also sad bc that means we'll be all done (at least until next year)! Also I SCREAMED at your Izzy impersonation lmao
one of the good things we got from this episode though (apart from the obvious) is obvious and final confirmation that this show is not queerbaiting ("me and Blacky had our dalliancies" - such a throwaway line which obviously made Stede not only uncomfortable but also mad jealous so there's that and I really love that about the show)
Didn’t think I could laugh so much in 5 minutes ( I’ve been watching the last 5 minutes on loop ) Read the comments about the Izzy impression and I still GASPED
OMG I love your videos so much, I feel so represented! Can't wait to see your reactions to the next episodes, I'm sure you'll love this show even more❤️
In my opinion, yes, that is a part who Blackbeard currently is but Stede brings out who Ed WANTS to be and strives to be when he's away from bad influences. Stede made him comfortable enough to admit to himself who he wants to be and gives him strength to start changing.
I want to say something since nobody is talking about this so... here we go So in 4:39 do you notice when calico jack is talking with ed and stede now hear me out if you just remove calico jack from this you will just have ed and stede eating together...alone, having a great time without anybody bothering them.. i mean commmee onnnn! They are such a old married couple and iam here for it.
Oh, I disliked Calico Jack from the moment he made fun of Stede by calling him a "big gal"! I like to think Jim would have knifed him had they still been on the ship, just for being so loud & annoying
Stede was like “I can forgive murdering your dad, but I draw the line at frat bro behaviour” and honestly what a mood 😂
I mean, how many of us have the same line. 🤣
I mean his dad deserved it 🤷♂️
Even better, he was like "I can forgive you for hanging out on my ship for 2 weeks all while planning to murder me, but I draw the line at frat bro behavior" ffffsssss
-"never left" *wink* and the (unscripted) boot touch as they lovingly look at each other OMFG 😭this scene will forever live in my head rent free.
Unscripted??? Stoppp, that's literally my favourite scene, it's so inspired
love that david jenkins referred to the boot touch as a(n emotional) release valve bc that's exactly what it felt like in my brain and in my heart.
How come a scene where two people getting arrested next to each other is one of the most romantic things I've seen on television?
My favourite thing about Stede being horrified by the story of Ed setting that ship on fire is that the two of them literally did that together three episodes ago. Like Stede was watching in glee as the room caught flames.
Stede's moral compass is so warped and I love it.
to be fair, the rich people set the boat on fire themselves, and there was clearly ample time to get off the boat before it was totally engulfed. also they were clearly terrible people, while jack doesn't specify who exactly the ship full of people they set on fire were. i think it's an interesting illustration of how stede isn't actually that averse to violence, just to pointless cruelty. he's happy to let the rich people burn their own boat down, but deliberately setting a fire for the purposes of killing people on a ship is going way too far.

Ah yes... Ed doing the classic self-loathing "I will drive you away before you realize that I'm not worthy and break my heart" -move 😔😔
His self esteem issues will be the end of me.
What makes it worse is that if you’ve seen the show, you know what happens next 😣
@@kellydepaz525 mmmmmmhmmm
IM WHEEZING I DID NOT EXPECT THAT IZZY IMPRESSION HELP 😭😭
LMAOOOOO

Season 2 is being filmed in NZ so time for Adam to get on a plane

Yeah....just wait.
Your impression of Izzy was hilarious 😅
What makes your reviews so entertaining to watch is that you pause and take the time to process the scenes and come up with your own predictions. Its so fun to hear your thoughts and I love that you dont rush through the whole thing! Im super excited to see you finish the next two episodes!
Thank you! ❤️❤️
Your Izzy impression killed me😂
I love this episode a lot, just for the fact that it's so beautiful to see how much the crew cane to appreciate and like Stede. oluwande sleeping (or trying to) in Stede's cabin, and telling him that no, Calico Jack doesn’t have nicer hair than him, Lucius caring about him and patting his hand to comfort him and the way everyone screamed at Pete to shut up as to not upset their captain.
also the "divorce talk" scene and thE FOOT TOUCH, AAAAH
'I feel personally attacked by this episode' OMG just wait for the next two eps!! :D
Omg your Izzy voice, astounding. Loving this reaction series!
The boot touch gets me every single time
Your Izzy impression OMG😂😂😂

Gosh, it seems like no matter how much time passes since I watched it, Ed's wink and 'never left' it's still a religious experience
i LOVE your reaction to this episode! It's so great to see how invested and how much you love the crew. and yeah jack totally got what he deserved lol. lucius is the mvp honestly. love how he went from being ok with mutiny against stede to supporting him like this

Damn your Izzy voice is spot on!! that caught me off guard hahah
I've read on another reaction video that the scene where Ed asks Jack to "whip my balls" was improvised by Taika, that look of pain was genuine lol .
It's the foot touch that did it for me ❤❤❤
Guardians of the Galaxy may have introduced me to ‘The Chain’, but THIS made me fall in love with the song.
Also still sad about Karl. THE BIRD WAS INNOCENT! HE HAD A FAMILY!
Your Izzy impression is truly a talent.
I looked away for a second and got jumpscared by your Izzy impression LOL that was spot on
I want you to know I love seeing these while I eat dinner when I get home from work esp when I have the closing shift. Ty for your videos

your Izzy impression 😂😂

Great reaction, I love how into the show you are!
Did you catch the boot touch? Its one of my favorite moments in the whole season!! Also your Izzy impression got me 😂
REACTORS ALWAYS MISS THE FOOTSIE AT THE END!!!
Lucius needs to be protected forever. The boot touch....*sighs* Also, your Izzy cracked me up. lol
Not Adam reacting to all the gay shows except Hannibal, you’re missing outtttt 💔
SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE PPL IN THE BACK
God! Adam your impression of Izzy's voice was awesome!! I was like WTH!! 🤣😂

R.I.P Karl :( and absolutely flags up for Stede "found his balls" Bonnet - and sorry for Olivia and Buttons
20:28 Izzy Hands that you? (That was a really good impression lol, wtf?)
In my opinion, yes, that is a part who Blackbeard currently is but Stede brings out who Ed WANTS to be and strives to be when he's away from bad influences. Stede made him comfortable enough to admit to himself who he wants to be and gives him strength to start changing.
I WAS WAITING FOR THISSS
Oof, I'll tell you already you are _not_ gonna be prepared for the final two episodes 😬
I want to say something since nobody is talking about this so... here we go
So in 4:39 do you notice when calico jack is talking with ed and stede now hear me out if you just remove calico jack from this you will just have ed and stede eating together...alone, having a great time without anybody bothering them.. i mean commmee onnnn! They are such a old married couple and iam here for it.
Am I the only blind ass mother that didn’t even notice Jack is Will Arnett 🤦🏻♀️
holy crap that was a bonkers good Izzy impression at the end
THE IZZY IMPRESSION AT THE END I'M DEAD
Wonderful reaction vid. Oh, Stede. Oh, Ed.

I can't begin to explain how load my GASP was when he killed Karl
Oh, I disliked Calico Jack from the moment he made fun of Stede by calling him a "big gal"!
I like to think Jim would have knifed him had they still been on the ship, just for being so loud & annoying
