I love okro. 😋😋😋
@@ibarogma6320 never had okro stew but I think I would struggle with the consistency too XD
A thousand times thank you for sharing this authentic recipe from your country with us! I’ve been curious to try okra stew for a while, and today I finally had all the ingredients to make it (with some adaptations, like with sheep meat instead of goat). And thanks to your easy to follow instructions it turned out very delicious! I had it with some fufu, which was very good, but I guess it would also be great with plain basmati rice… anyhow, thank you again for sharing this traditional recipe with us, thanks to you can a person like me from all the way in the Netherlands enjoy it too. You’re a delight, bless you!
This looks so yummy, I think I'd try this with a smaller portion of blended cooked okra & cut cooked okra.
This is the best okra stew I've seen since I've been watching RUclips for how many hours now. May just give it a try
I am Ukrainian and my husband is Sierra Leonean. I will be cooking this soup your way today. Thank u. 👍🙏
But I don't like my okro to be too slimmy
I love this dish my mom Nigerian friend made some for me to try she made me a big bowl I wanted to call and tell her I’m moving in 😩😂😂😂, I’m American but I loveeeeee to try different foods

I had never tried okra stew or fufu. Went to a restaurant and tried it and fell in love. The restaurant is an hour away and I kept sending my husband to get me this meal. I decided to make this and let me just say it tastes identical to the restaurants version. Thank you so very much for sharing this treasure. I have found my roots!!!❤️❤️
I made this and I love it 🙏🏾💛it came out perfect and it wasn’t a hassle to cook 💛💛☺️☺️☺️☺️Thank you for sharing your recipe
Thanks for sharing
Tell us the seasonings. Spell them out. The ones from the African grocery store. Zumi? Aji ajure? We don't know. Tell us clearly.
lol are you African ?
@@mariatt293 Unfortunately, no. I am Afro-ameRican though. (Velez).
I think you can just add onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika to make up for the seasoning. You can also add ginger powder.
@@mariatt293 and if she is african and still wants to know is there any reason you should ask such. C ur life
So I heard 'baking powder'. To make the okro slimy, I have to add baking powder?!!
Baking soda
Wow! Sis thanks very much for the tip (boiling the okra separately before adding it into the stew and also using less tomatoes) having tried this method, I’m very happy to report my okra stew turned out amazingly *even if I say so myself🤣🤣. So pleased talented cooks like you are around to pass on your knowledge and experience. Stay blessed and keep up with the good work. Love Pam (UK) 💋
herbs? seasoning? can you be more specific please? spices selection makes a world of difference in cooking.
This looks really yummy I enjoyed watching it 😋
Whats the green staff she added its not good it makes it slopy..

I have worked and lived in Cameroon and Central African Republic over the years, and I fell in love with African food there. Many dishes included Okra, Grass Cutter and also Goat meat. Good fish too. Oh I miss that food so much. Thank you for recording these wonderful recipes.

I tried this recipe today and it's so good❤❤❤ Thank you for sharing 🙏☺️
Hey could add the measurements if that’s possible ? Thanks
Oh I would appreciate this please.
specifically for the goat meat, tomatos and okra
Please did you say you blended the okro?
That is the slimiest okro soup I have ever seen and I love it! I'm from the US but I absolutely love African foods. I've been trying so hard to get my okro to be slimy, I didn't know I needed to add the baking soda. Thank you so much for the tip!
Actually the baking soda helps it cook faster. I’m not too sure about making it slimier.
Also, I have tried the baking soda but personally I don't like to add it because if you don't know what you're doing it can change the consistency/taste of the stew. If I were you I would leave it out.
@@waldinemustapha#4ė io0
Forget baking soda. Personally, I'm very much a traditionalist when it comes to west African food. Too many western add one tends to take away the original taste that our ancestors enjoyed.
Try to follow the traditional recipes as much as you can. To get it slimy simply cut the okra into tiny slices, dicing it occasionally. Okra soup (especially with ogbono) is my favourite food, bar none! I was weaned on it!
Really
What is that red ting you cooking that meet on ? It look like a tajine ?
This is something my husband will not eat but I WILL! Looks amazing! 😍😍
❤❤❤ from Charlotte North Carolina United States of America😂😂😂😂 that was that was a good food and thank you❤❤❤
I miss authentic food from Ghana. I went there years ago and didn’t want to come back to the USA. Here in Virginia Beach VA I have not found good Ghanaian food in awhile. The place I use to buy food went out of business due to COVID-19.
Nkwan yi b3y3 d3!!!!🥰🥰
I’ve made this 3 times and each time it tastes greatttt ! Amazing recipe 😍
Can't wait to make this 😍😍😍much love from kenya🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪
Mmmmmh i want to vomit
For someone with a shellfish allergy is there a similar alternative to the crab that can give it a similar taste? Cause this looks absolutely delicious 😋 😍 😊
I am Nigerian and I have never seen anyone add tomatoes to okra soup, but regardless, it looks delish. I am actually making it now, also making pepper soup, red stew, and egusi. Lol! I don't cook Nigerian food much, but when I do, I make a lot.
LOVELY. I CANNOT WAIT TILL I VISIT AFRICA. LOOKS TOO GOOD. JAH BLESS NIGERIA AND AFRICA.
I prepared this for my son at first he was like mum is this fish nice trust me two days later he asked me to cook it again
Much love from Zambia 🇿🇲🇿🇲🇿🇲🇿🇲🇿🇲🇿🇲
Obaapa, where is this dish from since your RUclips channel's "About", doesn't say and your video description also doesn't say from which country or area of the world it is from.
Thank you for sharing your recipe Obaapa, but I can't share your Recipe if I can't say where it is from.
Also, I need to categorise which country does from to put it in my playlist for people to view and use your RUclips channel.
Mnaaaaaa! LOVE OKRAaaaa! Can't WAiT to share.
I have never ate this food. I heard about it. It looks very good, I bet it will taste amazing from those many condiments....I am not sure if I would get used to the texture..But the way you cooked made me wanting bad to taste it
can anyone recommend the herb seasoning . so many choices idk what to use?
Just subscribed I’m making this SOON MY SIS💜💜💜💜
Aww thanks so much my sister and thanks for subscribing to our channel 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Look very delicious 🤤 😋 I love Africanfood but I never had the okra stew and the peanut stew
Girl I love you. Thanks for sharing. God job 👏🏽
What is in the „Edje African Spice“ please??? I cannot find and buy it
Your accent is beautiful, I wanna make this dish but im not fortunate enough to have a stove that works properly.
What if I don’t blend the okro? Will it still be slimy? Thanks.
Yes please!! Add a 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda. Thanks 🙏🏾
The texture is reli putting me off.... if you have cut okra in 2 3 pices each and lightly fried them and just out them in the cooked meat would have tasted and looked 100% better
Sis a de thank you oooh, a de finish cooking my okra and ate it, well for sure it was not looking like it’s in this video but I enjoyed well well.. first time cooking okra , it was okay.. a de thank you well well.. you are the best sis, I also tried the fufu, and it was perfect, never know I could do that lol. well it’s different but love it.

Hell no, why it looks like mucus
This is looks delicious never tested it, but like to do so some time, that is why I was looking the reciept, just wondering if you need to use all that okra, or it should be so?
You ground onion and pepper? Or did u mean something else. I'm sorry I'm trying to make this as a Mexican person and want to do it right lol
Like your pot cover and dish looks very tasty😘
I'm Indian and my Nigerian bf ordered this today and it was heaven!! This what brought me to your video to learn ❤
Wow...were the Indian guys so it unqualified to be your bf?😂😂
That soup will go well hand in hand with my banku.
What was that green sticky stuff that was poured in at the top???🙄🙄🤦♂️🤦♂️I'm sorry folks but that looks not delicious or Appetizing!!!!
As it is stirred it looks as if there is a sticky gooey mass underneath
It's called okra and it's delicious
Looks extremely delicious. I don’t think i will blend the okra but i will cut them into thin slices. But, you created a fantastic okra dish . Loving it 😍
Yes cuting and lightly frying them and throwing them.innthe cooked meat shud be delicious
Happy New Year ! Here is the real preparation of the gambo sauce for the placarie dish! Thank you 😘👌
I’m from Sudan and your food and ours is kinda the same way ❤ I love okra
Ur husband should be speaking twi by now after eating all this goody . Hahahaha
that is the most disgusting slimy thing......
I like it okra sup and fufu I wn to try sup okra..,Im from indonesia 🇮🇩🇮🇩❤❤
Okra is such a viable and holistic plant but cooking with it is so off putting. It's so slimy. I can handle it fried, even cooked with tomatoes but any other way, I pass. Looks delicious until you spoon it 😳
The slime comes from washing it then cutting it. What you do is wash it then dry it individually then you can leave it whole or cut it up. And make sure the dish you're cooking with has some lemon squeezed into it. It helps it to not be slimy.
This soup looks so delicious! I love okra too but not too fond of it when it's blended. I usually cut it half when we use it in our recipes. This okra stew looks so yummy though!❤❤❤
👍
I'm coming to eat your food first omg I'm so hungry now mmm
