    I showed my 3 year old daughter the video when I had it paused looking at the before photos because she asked. And all she said was she's pretty mommy!!!😍❤😍 that little girl knows nothing but genuine pure sweetness!! But she's telling the truth regardless, you're gorgeous!!

    Honestly accutane is one of the decisions I would make over an over again. I’ve been OFF accutane for 8-9 years, and my skin is still clear till this day. It’s given me confidence that I’ve never had before, and not having to feel the need to hide from people, miss events, or just feeling overall down about my appearance has helped my quality of life overall.
    Yes, it’s a serious drug and shouldn’t be taken lightly, but everyone’s experience WILL be different and I’m glad I did not let other people’s thoughts and opinions scare me out of it.

      Adelaide B same! My dermatologist actually got me on it at 16... I’m now 29 and no breakouts!!! I rarely even get a pimple now and I literally can go out of the house without makeup. It makes a world of a difference. But I don’t miss the extremely dry skin, blood tests or random nose bleeds.

    I knew you had cystic acne however your kind heart and tremendous generosity were what I noticed most. I am happy your accutane journey was so successful and your skin looks wonderful but that glow you have has nothing to do with your skin care or makeup. You are an amazing woman, I always look forward to your videos. G-d Bless.

    I had mild-moderate acne through college and into my late 20s. Even with that, I know that it can be so annoying, emotional, and make you self-conscious. I am SOOOOOO glad this worked for you, Taylor! You’ve really dealt with your acne so well, and have been such a great role model for others with acne, and haven’t let it hinder you living your life. I’m so happy for and proud of you! 💕💕💕💕

    You’ve done a great job of going over the process. I love that, at the beginning, you did a video showing the hateful and/or “helpful” comments you’d get and that you continually talked about how this didn’t change how you felt about yourself as a person. I hope that will bring some understanding to people who might not “get it.” I’m so happy for you. How wonderful to not have to think about your skin and just live life! You look beautiful, but more importantly, you are beautiful. ❤️ -a 35 yr old former acne sufferer.

    i want to cry. who am i kidding, i am crying. i'm incredibly happy this has worked for you. your skin looks amazing. i've watched your videos for years now and i've seen how you have struggled with your skin. i know exactly how it feels. that's how i found your channel in the first place! you're the reason i haven't given up on my acne. you're the only person i've ever been able to relate to. i still have plenty of days where i feel like shit but i always remember that you never gave up. you never quit trying to find a cure and now i'm on that same path. i was finally in the right mentality to see a dermatologist and i'm also getting in to see other specialists to rule out any health issues that might be causing it. i've been treating it medically for about a month now along with the rose hip oil and i'm trying my best to be patient. i gotta remind myself that the acne didn't show up overnight, therefore it won't clear overnight either. i just see such a new confidence in you and it's so inspiring. if anyone in this world deserves a miracle, it's you 💜

      karliz-dennise my skin also got better when I got pregnant! Sadly, it went back to normal after I completely stopped breastfeeding, so around a year post partum. I was able to find some products that helped me more this time around, which I'm pretty grateful for. Can't wait to get my pregnant glow on again someday though!!

      karliz-dennise Mine seemed a lot less... stubborn this time around. My skin isn't as great as when I was pregnant, but it did not go back to my worst state (which it was right before I got pregnant). So instead of having 10+ cysts on my face, I now typically have 0-2. And scarring. I think chemical exfoliation and making sure my skin is suuuuper moisturized have been the saving graces for me dealing with my acne this time around. But my skin also tends to loooove a product for a while, then slowly turn around and flip it right off, so I'm hoping that doesn't happen again! Trying to get pregnant currently, so it's not advisable for me to use most prescription products at this point. Keeping my fingers crossed, for you and me both, girl!! 😊🤞

    I found your channel because I was looking for reviews on accutane a few months ago and I’ve been watching your videos ever since. I think we started at the same time my first day on accutane was October 11 and my last appointment was last Thursday April 19. I had acne on and off for two years spent probably over $1000 between products in Sephora and different facials and nothing worked! If I could do it all again I definitely would. I used to have to wear makeup every single day just to feel pretty. None of my friends have had acne so Of course that didn’t help. Now, I feel so confident that I barely wear makeup and I actually feel good about it. I always looked forward to watching your accutane videos because I feel like we were going through it together. Now I just have to do one more blood test and go back to my dermatologist in three months and then I can do laser for my scarring. Thank you for being so open with us! Xoxo

While I was watching your video I felt sooo identified with all the problems, all the pros, the cons, the ppl who were asking you about it, I don't know. It's beautiful to see that its something pretty normal going on that treatment and that I wasn't alone at that time ♥

    Been here b4 and will be here for wayyy after. Ur truly one of the most down to earth people on here. I don't know how to describe it but I've watched some RUclipsrs go from say 10k subs to in the 100k's and they just change. Its like all they care about is money, pr, and I guess just pleasing companys. I understand people change and grow. But some people just change and it just seems like they just let it all go to their head. I find myself just rolling my eyes and not wanting watch their content. But I have never felt they way torwards you. Matter of fact if I have 5 notifications from youtube and ur one of them. I promise u will be the first I watch every time. I never get tired of ur content. I feel like ur one of the few I've came across on here that does what u do for us. U just give us ur true and honest thoughts and opinion. For us to decide if a product is right for are self. I never feel like ur trying to please a company. Ur amazing and always look forward to ur videos. Thanks for keeping it 💯. 😂 love ya. 💕😘 Oh and ur skin looks amazing. I'm so happy for u. I'm so envious. I've never had bad acne as a teen. But now in my late late 20s 😂 I have what seems like millions of little closed comedones all over my chin. Which I would have never had known what they where called if it wasn't for u. If u have any suggestions on how to deal with them that would be amazing.

I stumbled upon your YT videos and I am so happy to have found you. Thank you for everything that you do! You help me to be brave and to have hope for my skin. You have always been gorgeous as I can see, but your skin is flawless and I am incredibly proud of you. Thank you for being here for people like me. The whole accutane treatment was a little nerve wrecking for me but your videos along your journey inspire me. Thank you a million times over and over again. This has nothing to do with your video content though I hope you see this. I watch your videos every day while I work out. I have extreme anxiety and even though working out calms me after I'm done and has helped my chronic migraine, the feeling of my heart rate rising can bring me extreme anxiety and makes me want to give up. Something about your calming vibe and captivity gets me through that rough spot every day. Along with relating that we both suffer from migraines. As an advice to anyone with severe acne considering Accutane, make an appointment with your gynecologist first to discard PCOS and other common hormonal disorders. If you don’t treat the main cause you are still going to get break-outs. (My experience!🤷🏻‍♀️)

      I got diagnosed with PCOS in 2011 and have been on the Pill for five years now; the bulk of my moderate-severe acne is now gone and only triggered by stress or certain foods, just like for people without PCOS. I definitely echo this advice: talk to a gynecologist first.

    • @noname-of2yl

      Yes! So many women w hormonal acne go on accutane, are clear for a couple months and then it comes back bc they didnt address the root cause. Birth control/spironolactone is best for women w hormonal acne

    • @talacocheta9001
      @talacocheta9001 6 лет назад +10

      Agreed! There's a male hormone associated with cystic acne, and women with PCOS can have more of it. I did. I also was getting acne due to Candidas, which is yeast overgrowth from all of the antibiotics I had been prescribed, so when I would eat sugar or dairy, it would make me break out.
      I went on Accutane 30 years ago and have to take B12 for the rest of my life because it killed the intrinsic factor in my stomach so I can't absorb the vitamin from food or supplements. Definitely do your research.

    Accutane was one of the best decisions I ever made for myself. I'm beyond happy that it worked out so well for you and especially that you had minimal side effects. I've always been impressed with how comfortable you are in your own skin even before the accutane (something I did not share in my chronic acne days, and mine was much milder) and admire your intelligence and maturity. You look happy and glowing, and that's what it's all about!

    First of all CONGRATS QUEEN. You look incredible and sound so at peace. It's what you deserve and I am so happy for you. I've been watching since season one of 15 days of foundation and you are just such a great person.
    Less importantly, that AHA mask by the Ordinary is amazing. I'm a retin-a user so I always have to halt my retin-a for a little bit before I use the mask so I keep my moisture barrier intact but that routine has made my skin texture out of this world good. Also TO rosehip oil is my full whole entire ass LIFE.

    So glad you had a good experience! I did three courses of accutane, when I was 13, 17 and 25... The last course finally did the trick. I feel like a lot of people are very negative about accutane, and it gets a lot of bad press-- but it can be such a miracle medication! I never thought I could have the skin I have now. I'm almost 31 now and even 5 years after my last course, my skin is still so great (a bit dry). I hope you continue to have great skin :)

    I had terrible acne 6 months ago. After going to a dermatologist for 2 years (which I know isn’t very long), I wasn’t feeling hopeful. My dermatologist recommended birth control, and i cut out dairy to see how that helped. I’ve been on birth control for 4.5 months, and the results are incredible. Taylor, you have been so inspiring to me throughout your journey and have helped me so much through mine. I have learned to love myself with acne or no acne. 💜💜💜 right now I’m struggling with redness and slight scarring so I’m excited to hear your recommendations now and in the future!

      Casey Woodford if you don’t mind me asking, which birth control pill are you taking (I’m assuming it’s a pill)? I know it’s different for everyone, but I’m curious what worked for you. Did you have to try out different ones before you found the right one that cleared your skin?:)

      I had severe cystic acne (still do without birth control), have done Accutane (acne came back 6 months after finishing) and the only thing that has ever worked for me long-term is Yasmin. It is f***ing life-changing. I know it can't for sure work for everyone, but look into it. It's the specific type of combination synthetic hormones in its formulation that made it so effective for me. I had crystal clear skin with it. Currently trying to get pregnant so back came the acne! Oh well. Good times. It took about 3 months while on the pill for me to notice changes. Seriously, ask your GP, gyno, or derm about it. It's dope.

However i sense that somehow my acne will return again cause of these congested whitehead on my chin that hasnt form yet...right now im on RetinA

    So impressed by your perspective of living with acne and now being acne free. I am 38 and have essentially been living with acne (of some form) since I was about 13. When I was in my 20's the acne became cystic and I really struggled not only physically, but emotionally too. I tried so many things and finally caved and did Accutane when I was 28 (low dose for a full year). The acne came back in various cycles of severity a year later, but lately I'm trying to accept a more level-headed approach to it. Acne has an insidious way of taking over one's life, but your perspective is a reminder to us all that we truly have to accept and respect the skin we're in. Also, so sorry that people here have given you a hard time about your skin throughout the years, but you handle it with such aplomb! :D

    Your skin looks so amazing. I'm so stoked for you. I did it 20 years ago and not one hormonal breakout since. Not a single one. I'll occasionally get a teeny tiny bump from not cleaning my face well enough but a quick exfoliation and it's gone that day. Best choice I ever made. Don't fret. The results will last. Maybe don't go too hog wild on the treatments right away. Give your skin a chance to level into a new normal first. Brows and body, fine, but the face scarring can dim with the aha for awhile til your skin finds its balance. No one would blink if you went out with no makeup on at all.

    I did Accutane twice. The first time I had horrible side effects and couldn't finish the treatment. The second time I was older and decided to try it again. I was so happy with my results. I was virtually acne free for about 10 years. When I did get my first breakout it wasn't nearly as bad and cleared up with the skincare I was using at the time. Now 16 years later I use The Ordinary brand skincare and I love them. That being said I wouldn't go on Accutane again if my acne got worse. I too have chronic pain and fatigue and when I was in treatment all that was way worse. I don't think I could tough it out again. Plus my eye sight has only gotten worse since treatment stopped.

      Darby B I mostly use the Hyloronic acid serum for hydration, Niacinamide on any breakouts I get and I just started Squlane for more hydration but it has shown to reduce redness and so far it has! For a resurfacing treatment I use Alpha Lipoic Acid once a week. It helps with scars, fine lines and it brightens. Hope this helps. I've gotten mine through the Hush app, but they sell out fast. Beautylish I hear is another place to try.

    Hi, cosmetic chemist here with a warning. I have worked in R&D for professional skin care for a long time, including development of a custom post-Accutane protocol for a medical spa, and almost everyone I've ever known has said not to do anything but the mildest treatments for at least 2 months, preferably 3, after Accutane (ie, only low strength exfoliants, no retinol, no microderm or derma-planing). The most commonly recommended tx for scarring is microderm--srsly, do 6 sessions each of microderm and IPL and you'll be a glowing goddess--but it's too risky to start within the first month. Regardless of what your derm says, it's not worth it to risk your skin's recovery. Plus you don't know what your skin will be like after it goes through a full cycle, which means you may not choose the best tx.
    The "new research" your derm is talking about is NOT inclusive of all treatments. I'm sure your derm is great, but dermatologists can be overly aggressive and willing to take unnecessary risks that people who practice skin care (vs. skin medicine) aren't. You're at high risk for an epidermal injury, such as separation of the epidermis from the dermis (which is why no one can wax on Accutane) and that can take *years* to re-normalize. You have to be careful even using things like Band Aids rn. So I hope you'll be patient. GL.

      @lisalc1964 6 лет назад +3

      Preach! I almost tore my eyebrow off and gave myself a bad chemical burn 12 MONTHS after stopping my treatment! Please, please do not take this shit lightly, guys. Your skin might look great and plump and healthy, but you don't know what's going on under the surface. No waxing, no plucking, ideally, no putting nonsense on your face. Just leave it alone and let it heal.

  • @talacocheta9001
    @talacocheta9001 6 лет назад

    Very happy that you got the results you wanted!
    Please everyone who has been on Accutane, make sure to get your vitamin B12 tested at least once a year - if not more often - because one side effect of Accutane that they don't mention is that it can kill the intrinsic factor in the stomach which makes it impossible to absorb vitamin B12 from food and supplements. If B12 is way too low for too long, it's fatal.
    If your B12 is low, your doctor can talk to you about treatments, such as getting a shot every month or using sublingual lozenges. Don't just treat it yourself because having too high of B12 and B6 have been linked to lung cancer, especially in men who smoke. So you need to know your number. And it can take a while for B12 to drop, so that's why it needs to be watched over time. Best wishes!

    The dry skin vs. oily skin debate is interesting. I didn’t wear face makeup when I was oily for most of my life so I can’t really say about that. I think dry skin is exceptionally hard to deal with makeup. Everything sticks to dry skin.
    I have one daughter with slightly oily skin and one with slightly dry skin. My daughter with oily skin looks amazing in foundation right away, but I would say my daughter with dry skin probably gets more longevity out of it. I don’t know. I just think dry skin looks cakey so fast.

My foundation always looked nice before like it would cover my acne better and smooth me out, but it would break down/ rub off soo fast and id just be a greasy mess. Now, with dry skin i feel like i look better just not wearing foundation and letting my acne, scars, and redness be free because foundation just accentuates every little flaw and makes my skin looks horribly flaky :( if i apply a ton of moisturizer before it can look okay but yeah it’s like foundations only work for people with normal skin
