People without acne would never understand how hard it is to get rid of acne

Tbh I think people who have persistent forms of acne take better care of their skin than people who don't since we've all been trying to get rid of of it for so long

Alex Meyer it’s so true. I used to wash my face 3 times a day and exfoliate and I had adult onset acne. I had to go on birth control and I think aging just helped

This is so true. I am 61 and had acne until menopause. I took very good care of my skin always and I will say this, the acne is gone now and I have smooth skin... No wrinkles because I always kept my skin covered. I just had to wait until I was old lol.

I saw that comment and my reaction was the same as yours. Who the fuck are they to be saying ANYTHING about anyone? It's like when you're a chubby person and people yell insults, they don't know that persons story but they still feel like they need to put you down. Sometimes people suck at being decent human beings.

I just clicked on the video. I read the comments on your thumbnail and it disgusts me how people who don't suffer from acne don't fucking understand. I remember I couldn't walk out the house without make up, I was in a dark place. It does take time. But now I'm like for what? Pimples don't define me.

This is exactly why I follow you. I struggle with adult acne and the insecurities that come with it. No one really gets it or the things that come with severe acne. It's so weird to say but representation - besides color or ethnicity - acne representation is important to me because if you can be confident in your skin, so can I. It's as if your acne defines your credibility. I can trust and relate to your recommendations. It's like your blessing in disguise! I love you girl

Some things that i learned while on accutane:
    1. If you really feel obligated to exfoliate, use a towel and some warm water to very gently exfoliate peely skin.
    2. Aquaphor 24/7. Drink lots of water
    3. Cereve for sensitive skin works well while on accutane. Or olay gentle clean. It never irritated me.
    4. Always practice self-care. My depression/anxiety got much worse on the medication. Always prioritize your mental health/learn to treat yourself
Best of luck to you! Im excited to see your accutane journey!

While watching this video I asked my 5 year old daughter, "Do you think the girl in the video is beautiful?" She said "uh huh...but do you know she has pimples?" I said "I do know that but she is still beautiful" and my daughter looked at the screen and said "yes she's beautiful mom" even tho I'm not a fan of most people, I love that my daughter loves people so much and sees beauty in everyone

Thank you ladies! Our world today is filled with so much cruelty and cold hearted people...i try to teach both my kids about respect and hurting other people's feelings...my daughter is in young 5s, she has a little boy in her class who is extremely overweight but so precious and so sweet...i tried to explain to her about how some people are mean to others and make them feel sad if they are big and that I bet it would make him feel happy if she tried to be his friend (especially with my daughter being a strong personality and already being "popular" at school and daycare)...well, a few weeks into school, that boys grandmother thanked my daughter for being his friend...its scary raising kids and I truly hope she stays this strong but loving girl even as she gets older

I am finishing up my 5th month of Accutane and it has absolutely changed my life in every way possible. I never knew how incredible it would be to have clear skin, as I have had terrible acne for the past 6 years. I applaud you for being so transparent in your journey. Just remember that you don't need to explain your reasoning for going on Accutane. This is a decision for you and you only. Good luck!

d Don't buy into the stuff you see on the internet. It's a very small chance that you'll have a severe reaction, same with every medication. Any doctor or pharmacist will tell you the same. The internet makes everything seem a lot worse than it is.

    • @himynameisamanda
      @himynameisamanda 7 лет назад +3

Honestly my only side effects have been chapped lips, watery eyes, and some back pain. Such a small price to pay for finally having clear skin!

    • @himynameisamanda
      @himynameisamanda 7 лет назад +1

The corners of my mouth were kinda flaky but I used loads of Aquaphor to combat it. My skin was fine as long as I used a daily moisturizer! For me, the side effects were way worth not having acne anymore!

People have no idea what acne does to a person's confidence. I had cystic acne for 17 years before I finally was able to find the right medication for it. The older I got, the worse it got. The first thing I would do in the morning would be to look at new breakouts. I didn't even want to leave my house when my skin was having a bad day.
I have watched you for a long time Taylor, and I can't wait to take this journey with you. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. We 🖤 you!!!

I'm a 23 year old dude watching your video. I have gone on isotretinoin about a year and a half ago. I was quite hesitant about it, because of all the "horrible side effects" people talk about, but thankfully my experience with the medicine was fairly mild. I did get really dry lips and some random nosebleeds, but nothing major. Hope your experience is just like that if not better. Certainly you already know this, but you're a charming and beautiful human being. The process is lengthy, but with time your skin will improve. Good luck (:

Accutane was a lifesaver for my skin.
    Just some tips:
-Aquaphor will be your best friend during the course. Use it as facial and body moisturizer, lip balm, etc.
-Drink lots of water! You'll save your skin.
-Don't be discouraged by the initial breakout. It will start to clear up by the 2nd to 3rd month.
-Tarte's Rainforest of the Sea foundation was what I used during my course. It helped a lot with the dryness and I was able to layer it without any problems.
-If you have any questions the Accutane Subreddit will help you immensely.
I hope the course goes well!

Blistex Medex lip balm has been a holy grail for me on accutane! Your hands can get reallyyyy dry so make some to use some heavy duty eczema cream. Also, the Lush “Bunny Moon” mask and First Aid Beauty 5-in-1 Bouncy face mask have been incredibly helpful in keeping my face moisturized.

I can't say how accurate this comment is! People use to say the same thing to me, stop wearing makeup, let your skin breathe, drink water, wash your face...ughhhh. Do you really think I didn't try these things?! Anyway Rainforest of the sea is exactly what I used while on accutane, along with Aquaphor!!!! Accutane saved my skin, just finished it in July. & I still haven't gotten any pimples. I can't wait to see your results!!!!

Mylena's Beauty Room holy shit. I don't have acne, never been on accutane or anything, but have extremely dry skin..not sure why I never thought to get a freaking humidifier. My daughter has severe eczema and I always notice when she visits her dad in Florida her skin clears up and I've always said I wish I lived somewhere humid because of that. Lol why oh why did I never think of a humidifier?! Thank you! :)

I'm not even sure where to start. I've been watching you for so long, you have actually changed my life. I am a fellow makeup loving adult with extensive adult cystic acne. I'm 26 years old now and have had acne since I was 12. I have tried EVERYTHING from prescription creams, expensive products, drugstore products, diet changes, hormone testing, naturopath testing- you name it. I've exhausted my bank account and my damn soul trying to find something that helps. Something about seeing you up there with the top makeup gurus doing your own damn thing being exactly who you are has inspired me beyond words. You've shown me acne doesn't mean I can't wear makeup just the same as the clear skin girls. You've shown me acne doesn't mean I'm not beautiful. You've changed my attitude from "my acne is ruining my life" to "it's just acne and it doesn't define me" I needed this today, I really did

I waited to comment on this because I wanted you to see it without it getting flooded in the rest of the comments.
I cannot believe people have the audacity to say such hurtful things. The human race can be one of the most disgusting, insensitive and the meanest species on the face of the earth.
Thankfully there are empathetic, sympathetic and loving people that exist and shine through all the bull shit the negative people have to say.
You honestly are an inspiration. I've always been into makeup all my life but never "needed" it. After having my son my skin took a turn for the worst. I found myself watching your videos at 3am nursing my son after crying about how my face was covered in big bulbous painful and red acne.
You so helped me build up my confidence again.
You are BEAUTIFUL. with or without makeup. Your heart and soul can be felt through each of your videos.
I am sorry that people have had such horrendous things to say to you. It's mind blowing and makes me feel ashamed to be a part of the human race. But then I remember there are people out there like you and that's a breath of fresh air.
Thank you Taylor, for putting yourself out there. For showing us the parts of you that you may not like (acne). For stay true to who you are and always showing your appreciation.
You are a one of a kind Taylor. As a fan of yours, I absolutely love who you are and I'm thankful I stumbled across you during the times I needed you most. ❤️

It boggles my mind when people come up so someone with, for example, severe acne, anxiety or insomnia, and gives them the MOST OBVIOUS piece of advice ever - I'm like, do you think I haven't tried it?! I understand that they are trying to be helpful most of the time, but how can they not realize that it's condescending. Like, if I had a friend who struggled with their weight, I wouldn't go up to them and be like "have you tried excercising and smaller portion sizes?" Never. Like I said, I remind myself that their comments are meant to be helpful. But saying that to someone with a severe case of something is like assuming that they don't know anything about their own condition. Sigh. 😩

brianna horen I tried so many things like antibiotics, face washes, spot treatments, homemade treatments, literally everything I could find . What worked in the end was cutting out all dairy and a cream from the doctor called duac, I used it for about 3 months, it cleared it up so much and then started using 5% benzoyl peroxide every night. I only use garnier miscellar water to remove my makeup/cleanse my face then apply the bp, its been clear for a few months now I get the odd white head but haven't gotten any cysts, mine were so painfull I had to sleep on my back every night cause lying on the pillow would make me cry in pain 😧 hope this helps you xx

I’m on Accutane right now and the results have been great. I have some tips for you !
    - bite beauty lip masks are amazing for chapped lips, stock up on really good lip balms
    - drink tons and tons of water. I found I’m very dehydrated, I get creases in my face now that look like wrinkles but go away once a drink lots of water.
    - Cetaphyl cleanser and moisturizer are a MUST. Anything else burns my skin.
    - eye drops for dry eyes
    - your acne will get worse before it gets better. Super dry flakey and uncomfortable . I seen major results after 2 months

A thick layer of Cetaphil Cream is a must!! Even on the lips (I know it feels weird to some people, but it helps a lot). I actually found the Cetaphil Cleanser too drying, so instead the Neutrogena Ultra Gentle cleanser in the cream formula has been one of my HG products even after Accutane because I have eczema, Seb Derm, and just overall very sensitive skin that produces a lot of oils but still feels tight and dry if I don't moisturize enough.

I'm so glad I found your channel. I'm 32 and I have had acne since I was 10! Pasty white/red splotchy skin, red head, blonde eyebrows and eyelashes...yeah make-up is not fun for me! For medical reasons I could never go on Accutane. Even though I am married, and now have a 6 month old baby girl, my skin is still a HUGE insecurity. It is depressing and still reduces me to tears at times. I'm encouraged by how you have embraced the skin you were given, and you haven't let it stop you from being a huge success and obviously doing what you love! I need to learn to love and embrace my skin, I don't want my daughter to learn to be insecure because of my poor example.

In the 90's there was a Neutrogena commercial where Mandy Moore did the typical slash of water across her already flawless face. It was my undoing. To the bathroom I ran with an abrasive kitchen sponge and tried to "scrub off" the acne. Living with acne sucks.

Girl. Don’t let ANYONE impact your decision to go on Accutane. You’ve paid your dues. You’ve tried everything under the sun. I went on Accutane when I was 17 after being in the same boat as you and it changed my life. Accutane was rough, but I do not regret it. It completely changed my skin and I’m now 25.

It should be a law that if someone is going to leave a rude nasty comment on a video, they should have to use their real name and photo. Almost all of those nasty comments were fake names and no photos...just lame ass miserable people hiding behind a keyboard. I’m sorry you have had to deal with that. You don’t deserve it. You seem very sweet and I love your videos. I’m over 40 with decent skin so I’m probably not your typical viewer but I just enjoy your videos. You’re funny and honest and I appreciate that. I think people often times forget that genetics can be a HUGE factor in acne. My sister eats a very strict, very healthy diet and drinks water religiously but still suffers from horrible cystic acne like both of my parents did when they were younger. Okay honestly I'm really happy for you???!!! 💕
Let me tell you a personal story, I used to have really bad cystic acne, it started when I was in middle school, around 11 years old and started with some pimples here and there and got really bad over the years and really painful, I suffered bullying and had really bad self esteem which caused me lots of depression and bad thoughts about life.
In my case my family never supported me about going with a dermatologist because of money issues, and I always tried to fix things with drugstore products, natural remedies, hair away from the face, changing pillowcases every week and a MILLION of more things that never got rid of my acne entirely.
Last year, now an university student, I encouraged myself, got a part time job and paid for my treatment with a dermatologist which led me to the gynecologist and several studies. I went on accutane for 6 months + birth control (which I still use) + several face products, and let me tell you that it's one of the best decisions I had ever taken.
Now I'm a much more confident with a bare face and my esteem has gotten better, it might be true that I have lots of ice pick marks in my face, plus scaring and red marks but I don't get those painful cysts anymore and it makes me really happy.
So from a person who dealt with acne for 12 years, let me tell you that accutane is a great option and I hope it works amazing for you as it went for me! 😊

The only RUclipsr to tell me acne is normal, okay to have, and teaches me to not let it affect my life bc it’s uncontrollable. I’ve been struggling with cystic acne through out all of high school, with it being the worst rn as a senior. Seeing all my classmates growing out of their acne with effortlessly clear skin, or never having had acne at all, makes me feel inferior and frustrated at times. But watching your videos has helped me so much both with makeup and self esteem. I’m now at a place where I can feel completely normal with out makeup on my face even when I have blaring acne and scaring all over my face. Honestly couldn’t have been here with out your online support. Thank god for the community you’ve created.

I struggled with acne for 10 years since 5th grade a severe cystic acne during my early 20s. I was on accutane and it was the greatest thing I ever did for my skin. Accutane IS a serious and I did suffer crazy effed up side effects (extremely dry butthole, severe constipation, and vivid, gross, messed up nightmares) but it was for 6 months only. Now I can do stuff like leave the house without foundation on, not worry about acne that literally pulsates and forms clusters of 4-5 "friends" looking like inch big warts on my face, be careless and sleep in makeup if I'm too tired, etc. I haven't gotten cystic acne ever since and it's been 4 years! You're gonna have great results but just beware of gross/crazy side effects. Love you Tayla!

My skin never got worse before it got better, my skin cleared within 3 weeks of being on it. The only major side effect I had from it was dry skin/lips. I'm 37yrs old and currently going through this acne and cystic acne (almost no space in my face) and there is absolutely nothing no one as in no one can do about it. Heck it makes me cry all the time and sometimes I don't even want to go to work but I know once I am done with my treatment (when, I don't know) my moon face and acne face will go away and will eventually go back to normal. I have always been acne prone because of my sensitive skin but since I started my treatment almost 4 months ago now, it went berserk. Oh well I rather be alive and have moon face, swelling, loosing my hair and my acne everywhere than be normal but be six feet under. That's what I tell myself anyway 😊. I think it's pretty terrible that you have to add a "disclaimer" about Accutane. For fucks' sake, you're a grown ass woman, you don't owe anyone an explanation for your choices about your medical care and treatment. Even if this was your first choice treatment (which it's never anyone's, and no dermatologist would allow that), it's no one else's business. I think it's unbelievable that people feel so entitled these days that they think they can say such hurtful shit to a person and then also criticize the person when they take charge of the situation. Good for you for being you, Taylor, and best of luck on your Accutane journey! May all those nasty side effects keep their distance!

    • @genevieveve
      @genevieveve 7 лет назад +1

I think she only added the disclaimer for possible legal reasons. As Accutane is a medication, she can't recommend it in case someone takes her recommendation and then gets bad side effects or damage from it and then sues her or takes legal action. Same with the videos where people have to say "just because I don't like a product doesn't mean it won't work for you..." - it is sometimes to avoid possible legal action later. But I totally agree with you - so glad Taylor is taking this step!!!

    • @kaylak4191
      @kaylak4191 7 лет назад

I agree, but since it is a medication that requires a prescription, it's not like anyone can just go grab it on a whim because she used it, recommended it, condoned it, etc. If someone saw this video and assumed that this medication would be a cure-all with no possibility of negative side effects, etc., well, they're an idiot for starters and they probably deserve what they get. But if they went to their dermatologist to demand it, and their dermatologist gave in to their demands without following the appropriate protocols, that's actually on the dermatologist for not sticking to the standard of care, it's not the fault of a random RUclipsr. Even in our litigious society, you'd be hard-pressed to find a judge who would actually let a suit like that go through. And the reason RUclipsrs give the other disclaimer about products is because 1. they don't want followers giving them grief about "how DARE you NOT like that product!" blahblah (because, god forbid, everyone has a different opinion) and 2. they don't want to be sued or blacklisted by brands for giving a negative review and "slandering" them, it's not because of a potential lawsuit from a follower who had a bad skin reaction to a recommended product.

I had done the 20mg treatment, is the strongest in Portugal, and the side effect is not very good, I bleed a lot of my nose, always with many wounds. But it's worth, believe. I JUST finished 4 months of Accutane and let me tell you, it works. Some rare cases it doesn’t work for people but if done right, you will be cured. Stock up on chapstick and the Bite Beauty agave lip mask and drinks loads of water. You’ll get through it! I also made an Instagram account just for my treatment of accutane and I loved it. The accutane community on instagram is bomb. Everyone helps each other and it’s awesome to see how much your skin improves over the months. I look forward to keeping updated on your accutane course!! Good luck ❤️❤️

I've done accutane as well. I have had really bad acne since 11 years old. In all my sensitive teenager years I was bullied because of my skin and I'm still dealing with depression and social anxiety right now. Accutane cleared up my skin really quickly! I hope it work for you as well. The comment section of this video is so touching it brought me into tears. Thanks every beautiful people for sharing your story.

this video made me cry. my sister and i go through this type of harassment every day. she had a customer berate her over "not washing her face" and he laughed at her. I've had people refuse to let me serve them because they thought they could "catch" my skin. everyone takes one look at you and decides they have a right to tell you how to take care of yourself because obviously you can't be trying with acne. taylor, finding your youtube channel has been a blessing for me. most if not all of my makeup purchases come from seeing it in a video of yours. knowing there's someone out there that is making their way in the world despite so many of the struggles that i also go through (cystic acne, scarring, migraines) is inspiring. i really am routing for you during this time with accutane. you deserve those results 💕

I was on the maximum dose of accutane for the maximum allowable time and it completely cleared my skin. I tried everything, for years. Countless Derm appointments and prescriptions and nothing worked for my cystic acne except accutane. Within a few months my skin cleared totally and has stayed that way for 10 years now with only random pimples every now and then popping up. The only bad side effect I had personally was extremely dry cracked desert like lips and that was pretty painful but nothing else. I also 100% had a purge phase. My skin has never looked worse than in those fist couple months on the meds but then it was just gone. I hope you look back years from now on your experience and have a good outcome as well!

I have always respected the heck out of you for doing what you do. The fact that you have acne prone skin and STILL try a shit ton of different foundations knowing they could irritate your face makes you so brave. It's something that you don't ever see in the beauty community here on RUclips literally except you. You do it for your fans and don't ever think twice about it. You are strong and brave and all the people who have said mean stuff to you are horrible people!! I think you are an amazing person inside and out and I know there are thousands of people who think the same!! Keep on doing what you do girl! We love and support you!!❤️❤️

I watched this video while washing my face at night, taking care of the skin I used to hate. I had acne since I was 12 and now that I'm 20 it is finally going away, after using antibiotics and topical treatment prescribed by a dermatologist. Now, when I look in the mirror, I can see myself, not the acne and imperfections of the skin. Now I love my skin, I think it's stunning, even tho I still have discoloration that is slowly fading, some scaring and some blackhead. Probably is not what is normally considered to be a beautiful skin, but now I feel so good inside it! Watching your video I really hoped that you can finally feel what I feel, and love and enjoy your skin free of acne and tons of make up to cover it up. Good luck! 🍀

Same! I got my cystic acne at 12, and now I'm halfway to 20. It's finally clearing up, and it took antibiotics and stuff. I'm just praying for clear skin, it's all i ask. I haven't had clear skin in 7 years! I hate cystic acne.

i have tried so many things before finally committing to accutane. It was a last resort for me as well. i’ve been on it for three months and so far, everything’s been fine! i’ve just had really dry lips and semi dry skin. i hope it all clears up and i won’t have to worry about it anymore. my acne has always been one of my biggest insecurities and it actually had a huge role in the development of my anxiety and depression. watching your videos really makes me feel more confident and you’ve taught me so much!

One of the reasons I started watching your videos is because I have periods where my acne can look like yours and I was trying so hard to cover it up with makeup without doing a horrible job at it. As well as I am trying to become confident and comfortable in my skin. I get cystic acne on my chin and at times it was so bad that I would cry and not want to go anywhere where people would see it. Watching your channel has helped me become more comfortable in my skin and I thank you for that!!!!😊💕

Just last yr my GP doc put me on BACTRIM 80 mg , 1 pill at night, which is antibiotic. Take daily. It has completely "cured" my acne. There is a generic and it's cheap. Check it out.

Day 4 Accutane. I struggled with acne all through my teens and now through my twenties. I was running away from Accutane for the longest time. But now i think i was mentally ready to go on. Tried multiple other medication, oitments, products. You name it! I spent on it!
Literally, my self-confidence took a huge toll on my mental health. Hated when random people and family commented and made it “obvious”. But over the years I decided to take things in my hand and keep my head high with whatever flaws i have. I am proud of who i am and totally confident with my skin.
I honestly watched all you videos before going on Accutane and skin doing so to help me through this journey. ❤️

This video certainly clarifies everything you've already tried - God love ya. Another part of me thinks it's sad that you had to explain your reasoning behind your decision to use Accutane. It's your body, not mine or anyone else's. I hope your results are stunningly successful and exactly what you're hoping for. You may be less than half my age but I certainly look up to you. Anyone would be truly blessed to have you as a mentor. ❤️❤️❤️🖤❤️❤️❤️

Thank you so much for this I have been suffering for so long with acne since I hit puberty and at 21 Ive just broke out all over my face and body. Ive been locking myself inside but you have given me a new confidence where Ive started taking a big interest in make-up again, going out and not caring what people think anymore. Ive realised you can still be beautiful with acne, Im grateful for your channel you deserve more notice than these other big youtubers who never show their real skin. THANK YOU!
