    I ordered one in November 2023, the dealer has rang me twice with other options due to cancelled orders. Different colour, fwd, black interior. but I know what I want, so I continue to wait. In no rush. I wish we could buy the prime here.

      I think the issue will be of price, the price will creep up to lexus levels and then why not just buy a lexus. What they could do is remove the edge variant and make the prime the top of the range. But it's TOYOTA, they have so much sales it won't happen for a really long time. @@carsales

    I agree… worth the wait!
    FINALLY got mine a couple of weeks ago and love everything about it. The point of difference that the edge model has over the rest, the fuel efficiency is awesome, the sports mode has massive spring in its step. Yes it’s not as luxe equipped as some of its rivals but it feels great, solid and well made, it has all features I need backed with Toyota reliability. My black edge is my new happy place!

    I have waited just under 2 years for a RAV4 Cruiser hybrid. In that time the price has increased multiple times that its no longer a good value for money proposition IMO. During my wait, along came the Nissan X-Trail E power for practically the same cost as the Edge/Cruiser Hybrid but the Nissan is stacked with so much more bang for buck features vs the Toyota so thats in my garage now.. Ive owned quite a few cars in my life and not once has resale value been a factor as I always paid cash for the cars I’ve owned and consider it money gone the moment I hand it over.
    I’m perplexed that you didn’t reference to the Hybrid X trail more as that’s the most comparable car to the RAV4 and real world fuel economy is within .5 litre of the RAV4 Hybrid.
    I have no buyers remorse within X-trail e power and after 5000km of driving still enjoy the drive like the day I got it and am pleases with the many extra features that Toyota left out to maximise their profits and give their customers a basic car with good drivetrain. Toyota only wins on service costs, very minimal fuel economy and resale value if thats important to buyers, thats it.

    • @carsales
      @carsales  8 месяцев назад

      According to carsales internal search data - where buyers are searching within our website (Australia's largest automotive website) - RAV4 research and buyer inquiries are not being cross shopped with X-TRAIL e-POWER to a huge degree. But you make a fair point and we agree that they certainly are rivals - which is why we have already compared the RAV4 hybrid vs the X-TRAIL e-POWER vs the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Check out the full review and video here: www.carsales.com.au/editorial/details/toyota-rav4-hybrid-v-nissan-x-trail-e-power-v-mitsubishi-outlander-phev-2023-fuel-economy-comparison-143843/

      What is the return on extrail in litres per 100k???

    • @vrs76r
      @vrs76r 6 месяцев назад

      @@HolidaysWithHumour 8,500km of driving and it’s sitting on 6.53l/100km real world calculation. 80% of km travelled have been city and suburban travel which is at lower speed but far more stop/start, slowing and acceleration. Drives with no hills are constantly returning between 4.8 and 5.8l/100km
      Realistically it’s about 1l/100km worse than the RAV4 from my own testing on same routes I do in my X-Trail e power but the drive experience is so much further ahead of the Toyota as far as I’m concerned. No regrets at all that I didn’t get the RAV4

    I thought that if i buy hybrid edge then i will be able to get more feature then cruiser coz it is more expensive then cruiser but i got disappointed by my decisions and also the car dealer need to tell this to costumers too. There is no memory seat in edge for drivers 1 and 2, but the cruiser has it so that whenever you have two people to drive the car, which most of us have. You as a car reviewer need to tell that too.👌

    Bought a 2022 Hybrid few weeks ago. Loves the drive comfort in the city and urban areas. I had a long distance few days ago and noticed couple of things that are never discussed in any of the reviews. I use tiptronic when I drive on windy roads so that I have better control (and I like the feel of driving like a manual). The first thing I noticed is when you drive on a gear and comes to a complete stop, the gear does not automatically goes to 1 (My 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander used to do this so I'm comparing to it). The other is RAV4 does not have paddle shifts and the gear lever is placed bit to far from the steering wheel. That means when you are taking sharp corners your left hand is out from the steering wheel for a considerable time potentially causing understeer. So based on my experience the tiptroic system in RAV4 is not much practical especially when driving on windy roads.

    I had the same edge order since 2years now but at the end I thought of setting with Kia Sportage hybrid(FWD) about to be release this month when I’m still waiting for from Rav4. 11:56
    Though both are priced at 61k plus I thought 11:56 the extra features and look of Sportage won me over the reliability and brand name. Kia has been around for few years now and the same 1.6 turbo engine is used in other Kia and Hyundai cars for a while now.
    Other thing I consider was that with new gen Rav4 yet to be released in year/months I though the current gen will be outdated ,while the Kia design are still new.
    I was not also impressed by the monthly subscription of the connected services after an year by Toyota.
    Alternatives I would I gone for was other Nissan Xtrail E power , Honda crv hybrid or the Kia Sportage. But CRV also lack few features that Korean rivals offers and was not sure or confident with Nissan hybrid system.
    Hope I had made a right decision going ahead with Kia Sportage hybrid and time will tell TA

      @@johnmartin7158
      No. in the event of a minor accident, if battery is damaged, car would be written off because battery can’t be repaired; if battery is not damaged, sensors and smart telemetry are expensive to repair; repair could be delayed for months because parts might have to come from overseas and/or not enough skilled EV technicians to go around; Tesla can charge high amount for repair because they have a monopoly for being unable for 3rd parties to repair your Tesla. All these issues make for comprehensive insurance to be 40% higher than ICE insurance.
      I will let early adopters suffer the minor collision 💥 repair runaround. Let battery tech to mature and become mainstream before I jump in to BEV. In the meantime, I’ll stick with non-plugin hybrid.

    Toyota Australia is cheating customers on map upgrades. I bought my RAV4 Cruiser Hybrid in 2021. My average annual mileage is around 10,000 km. Given the low mileage there is no great rush on my part to do the annual service which I normally do within a month from each anniversary date. During the service I have the free map upgrade (customers are entitled for 3 map upgrades free). However on my 3rd anniversary service, Toyota refused to give me the 3rd free map upgrade. After a couple of lengthy discussions with Toyota Customer Service I was told that I am not entitled for the 3rd free map upgrade as I have gone pass the 3rd anniversary date by a few weeks. This is gross cheating. Shame on Toyota Australia.
