Another excellent presentation. We did order the Rav 4 (24) ,but wait time was getting too long, plus daughter needed a car now, and when saw Cross , even though it had 14,000 km., we jumped on it. Several reasons: proven engine, gen. 5 hybrid system(same as Prius), a bit smaller, yes, but mostly only two of us, easy to drive. Same safety features as RAV 4, and hey, the days of the thrill from driving our '68 Z-28 302 RS are good memories, but now I'm 78.
Oh, the real mileage, I drive age appropriate: 56 mpg on highway, and between 61 and 66mpg, in city. (Imperial MPGs)
By the way, the Toyota eCVT is a brilliant engineering marvel.

Thanks David for your presentation. Very well structured. I chose the Corolla Cross over the RAV4 earlier this year mainly because the size made more sense for me and in this market (Caribbean) the CC is significantly less expensive. And it's a great car overall. I have no complaints.
On the resale value point, I think it will sell just as well as the RAV4, if not better. It was the fifth best-selling vehicle of 2023 worldwide, after only a few years since its launch. A 'lot' of people think the RAV4 has gotten too big and want something smaller. The CC fills that critical gap.

I live in Europe, former owner of RAV4, built in Japan.2014.First owner...during 10 years zero faults, lot of fun during my road trips, excellent car .Really..but our children are not travelling so much with us. So I decide to swap to smaller CC. And I dont regret. It is great car.I am technician, so I really love Toyotas Hybrid system, this is TOP.And I dont have the feeling that CC is powerless comparing to RAV, 0-100 kmh in l 7.5sec is excellent-and it is still in ECO mode-I never had a feeling to switch Normal or Sport mode on, consumption is excellent, the AWD,rear wheels are on almost in each corner without shaft under the car- nice.Mine is built in Japan, the front grill is the same like US non hybrid spec.-I like it more.I have been deciding between new RAV or CC. The size was decision point. In Europe are more narrow roads, parking lots are smaller as well. I am not big fan of philosophy Bigger car is a better car.CC definitely fits my needs.

I own both a 2024 RAV4 and Cross. The build quality is far superior on the RAV4 by far. There are obvious build flaws on my new Cross built in Alabama. The build quality on my Canadian made RAV4 is far better.

How can they deliver you both vehicles when I ordered the Cross hybrid last May and haven't got it yet. I wanted a white one so maybe that colour just was not available yet and they offered me the celestite a few months ago. It's just frustrating but anyhow I did rent the gas model Cross and it was fine so the hybrid therefore must be way better and refined. 90% will be city driven so it's fine for my families purpose.

I bought a tricked out Cross in June and its by far the best car I've ever owned. Who cares about the millimeter gaps??! My partner has a tricked out RAV4 and they are basically the same but mine is a tiny bit smaller and over $15K cheaper. Granted I'm not transporting teenagers, just a 25lb dog, but it did great on a 2 week road trip from California to Montana and back - 2 adults, 2 dogs. Absolute perfection.

David I don’t agree on passenger comfort at least in terms of headroom. In the RAV4, the front passenger seat is fixed too high and I’m only 6’ and I had to duck and weave getting into the front passenger side

This is my biggest issue with a lot of toyotas, the passenger seat is too high and can't be lowered. I own 2 toyotas, so it wasn't a deal breaker, but I really don't understand why they fix the passenger seat so high, higher than the driver seat.

We also have a 2023 Rav4 Hybrid and a 2024 Rav4 Prime. They were both manufactured in Japan and are very well built. The Prime is quite a bit faster and it is great to not have to use fuel in my wife's normal commute. Love them both. Still waiting on a new Trailhunter 4Runner. Any insight to when they will actually be available?

Thank u, David. I was just looking but saw a Cross next to a RAV 4 at a nearby dealer. I leaned toward the loaded Cross bc it had more features I liked. I'm a senior, so I would be looking for better mpg's. And my muscle car days are gone. I own a 2019 Prius & considered a hybrid RAV or Camry, but Prius had better mpgs. If it were today, I'd honestly consider an AWD hybrid Cross. 👍✊️🖖🇺🇸

David, do you notice the transition on the RAV4 hybrid from EV to ICE? I have a 24 RAV4 Hybrid Limited (built in Obu, Aichi, Japan) and I notice the transition from EV to gas quite a bit sometimes. According to every dealer, it is fine and “normal. But coming from my 2021 Corolla Hybrid, this seems a bit rougher.

Hi David, great presentation. Would you say that if you ignored the interior of the rav4 and wanted to buy a new prime that the latest model 2024/25 would be a perfect time to buy? I know the new one is coming in the end of 2025/26 but wouldnt it be a safer decision to buy a car that has been modified perfectly nearly in its fifth generation? Just thinking that yes the new one will hopefully have a new interior but for sure there will be some glitches as all new models have.

David, Toyota's decision to build the Corolla Cross CUV on the TNGA-C platform with a shorter wheelbase than the Corolla sedan or Prius is truly inexplicable. 🤔 That Alabama plant is suffering some growing pains so all the more reason to Buy Canadian with a RAV4 Hybrid. 🥳🥳 If I was going to buy a Toyota CUV/SUV the size of the Corolla Cross, it would have to
be the Land Cruiser FJ. 🤩🤩 Having said all that, I am looking forward to the day when RAV4 and Corolla Cross Hybrids are in abundant supply at the local Toyota dealer. 🤞🤞

Great timing for your well made video. I presently drive a 2012 RAV4 V6, 180,000 kms which is still going strong. But now I would like to switch to hybrid. Your video helped me decide that a RAV4 is a better option for me, especially now at the end of a model run and it's Canadian made.. However, I"m concerned about the problematic design issue it encountred with the electrical cable for the rear motor. Your view would be appreciated. Thanks again.

I have the XSE Cross, fully loaded. Fully. Acceleration noise is minimal unless you drive over tons of hills or on highways all day. If that is you, get a different type of vehicle. The XSE is cheaper than the equivalently loaded RAV4. Pick the vehicle that fits your life and your driving needs. Most drivers in this category will NOT notice the difference in power or steering. If you do, you need to get something more entertaining than either of these. You are shopping in the wrong location!!
