Current gen Rav4 still looks trendy for me. And almost all issues are squared away for last 2 year models. There are literally none recalls. I think it's still very much recomended to buy 2024 and 2025 models.

@@loulou-m1w when you get the redesigned of any new year that is usually the most buggier versions as it takes a few years to remove any new design issues so 2025 would be a better option. Look at the 2019 and 2020s took two years to work out any main issues.

Hybrid models are only worth it if you're doing mostly city driving. Open road driving - there's not gonna be much, if any, difference between the gas model and the hybrid when it comes to mileage. I do a minimum of 12,000 miles freeway driving every year - put me in for the 2024/2025 gas RAV4.

REALITY CHECK!! Toyota is accepting orders for the 2025 RAV4 any version but I tried to place an order for one at a number of dealers in Canada. The best availability date I got was 12 months (aka 1 year) with a worst delivery quote of 18 months. That delivery window applies to any of the hybrid versions. Non hybrid versions are 9-12 months. It feels like Toyota may be planning to migrate to a 2026 major redesign and are trying to secure a huge backlog for what is termed an “end of life” build. That would also support a “stack ‘em high and sell ‘em cheap” pricing strategy. In any case lining up for a 12 month queue is ridiculous. But waiting for a 2026 model might mean a 2027/28 delivery. Looks like a lose - lose situation.

So should we wait if we want it? So a 26 reveal might come out next what June with the 26 coming to dealers in the fall of 25.
Or will it? We will most likely have to pay a full “increased price” and have to wait a year for a pre order to arrive.
So TWO years from today if I order next year I might see a new RAV.
    I’ll pass!
    Go Ni, go figure.

I'm holding out for the redesign, and I would be extremely disappointed if, as you say, the exterior is not redesigned. We've been looking at the current RAV4 for 5 years now. Enough already. I really hope you are wrong and we get something sleeker and more modern that stands out, and is worthy of the moniker 'redesign'. And while I maintain that efficiency and reliability are paramount, if I am spending this much on a vehicle, I also have to love the appearance. Which would include some more interesting and adventurous colors. ALL the colors currently offered are staid and absolutely boring. The only one I would consider is blueprint, and honestly we already have a dark blue car, so not even that excited about that.
I would be very happy if they offered the PHEV in more basic models. Personally I do not like all the extra gee-whiz features, that are extremely expensive to repair, and really mean little or nothing to me.

Who knows they might even offer decent speakers instead of those cheap ass JBL "upgrade" speakers that make you long for an AC Delco AM radio. Frankly I think that someone at Toyota was bribed by someone at JBL (or maybe JBL had compromising photos of a top exec at Toyota) because other than the hard of hearing I don't know anyone who says $2K for those speakers seems like a fair deal when they could get some extremely good focal or jl speakers.

Toyota is not the only hyridd car on earth. There are many other brands that make good hybrid and plug-in models. Why so stubborn just buy RAV4 , and give yourself a chance to try other brands. Even you put your order now, your wait time is still more that 9 months.
I went to the Toyota dealer last week (Canada Ontario), the sale man told me that they do not take any new order on all hybrid models until the backlots are clear.

@@Vziera I found out many of youtubers and car reviews are paid by Toyota, all Commerical. I have friends they drive Mitsubishi Outlander plug-in for 4 years already, no issue. Driving Hyundai Tucson hybrid for 3 years, on issue, just change oil.

Because, in Europe anyway, Toyota offer a ten year warranty and the others don’t…
