Thank you very much for the correction it is a mathematical error. I advice to my audience to take the correction . By thinking as it does not change the final result.
Thise is exelent. but l think the rule state for minimazation the constraint necesserly to be"" greter than or equal to" and for maximazation use ""lesse than or equal to""with there respective rule of selecting key row and columen but in thise lecturer use the resprocal one.thanks
Question, hana is establishing an investment portfolio that will include stock and bond founds.she has $720,000 to invest and she does not want the portfolio to include more than 65% stocks. The average annual return for the stock fund she plan to invest in is 18%, whereas the annual return for the bond fund is 6% . she further estimates that the most she could lose in the bond fund is the next year in the stock fund is 22%, whereas the most she could lose in the bond fund is 5%. TO reduce her risk ,she wants to limit her potential maximum losses to $100,000. required; A, formulate a linear programming model for this problem and solve this model by using graphical analysis?
Dear Liya changing the greater than inequality has two reasons 1 . the sign of 12 is negative negative solution is not allowed to change to positive we multiply the right and the left hand side of the equation by negative one when we change the sign of the solution the inequality also changed to the opposite direction 2. the other constraints are in less than inequality and to make all constraints in the form of ax+by≤c simply by adding slack variable it is easy to solve the problem.
Dear Mengistu, The objective function in linear programming problems is whose value is to be either minimized or maximized subject to the constraints on the given LPP over the set of feasible solutions the decision variables must be greater than or equal to 0 but this restriction does not include the objective function result as we see the definition of objective function.
What a remedy!
You really eased my life @ MBA quantitative class.
MANY THANKS
Please post video about duality and sensitivity analysis in LPP
Correction: from 27' to 28' video; last row and under column S3, (0 - -1) = 1 not -1
At 37'&25" 28/5 - 96/5 =- 68/5 not -71/5

Your vedio is so smartttt u are gentle thanks a lot

I think this LPM is not valid since it violate the Additivity Assumption of the model so how it can be solved from the begining

Why is it necessary to change greater or equal to lessthan or equal ....if it is necessary as the question is minimization why not we make the reverse
Dear Liya changing the greater than inequality has two reasons 1 . the sign of 12 is negative negative solution is not allowed to change to positive we multiply the right and the left hand side of the equation by negative one when we change the sign of the solution the inequality also changed to the opposite direction 2. the other constraints are in less than inequality and to make all constraints in the form of ax+by≤c simply by adding slack variable it is easy to solve the problem.

can the solution become negative?

Thank you
Thank you man
In minimization case we must used greater than or equal to
Nice
