Some recommendations for a future Bucharest trip! 1 - Manuc's Inn for dinner, built in early 1800s, got some really interesting traditional food 2 - Constitution Square and Palace of Parliament. Super massive impressive building. Don't miss the churches physically moved out of the way. 3 - Dealul Mitropoliei, one of the centres of Romanian Orthodoxy 4 - Romanian Athenaeum, super pretty concert venue 5 - Dimitrie Gustie national village museum, an open-air collection of Romanian village life 6 - Therme Bucharest, a huge spa. Great to relax in, and not far from the airport either 7 - Book a tour with a local. We had a young man show us round and explain the still very recent history of the Romanian revolution Honestly, this city really surprised me with how much it has to offer. It's still rough in places, but there's a lot to see and do. I loved it - hope you do too!
Really enjoyed these videos. Good to see Blair in the videos as well. Scott - "Blair, have you anything you would like to say? Blair - "no" :-) :-) :-)
BLAIR IS SO CUTE..... the noodles looked good......need to try the food in the country you visit at least once. thanks for taking viewers to a Romanian rest........looked good
I am the proud Father of 7 month old twins. I hope when they are older, that I have as good a bond with them as you have with your son. Very interesting video, you really bounce off each other, hope to see more collaborations in the future. Thanks guys 😊
I don't know if someone commented about this before, but susan is the Romanian word for sesame. That pretzel had sesame sprinkled on it 😂 and this is why it was named susan
I'm glad you enjoyed it, albeit not completely. I do hope you'll visit Romania again and get out of Bucharest, the countryside is gorgeous and filled with history. Maybe visit Sinaia, which is a really nice town in the Carpathians, just an hour or so north of Bucharest. You'd very much enjoy Sinaia Monastery and Peles Castle. I guarantee Blair would too! Or if you'd want to go for the ecclesiastical tour, there's the historic monasteries of the Moldavian region like Voronet, Moldovita, Sucevita, or Putna Monastery, which were built by Stephen the Great, who allegedly founded a church after each military victory. You can also go to Transylvania and visit the big cities there, while the Danube Delta offers ferries and boat rides on the canals, where there is a plenitude of wildlife, including pelicans and more recently FLAMINGOS! Looking forward to your next video! [thumbs up emoji]
Enjoyed this video. Glad you had a decent meal too! I'm not so keen on zoos but at least this one didn't have large animals there. Scott, you definitely need to return to Bucharest to see the Old Town and, if interested, the ethnographic museum which is just up the road from the Triumphal Arch. Plus the Herestrau Lake and the Palace of Parliament.
The Romanians are sick of the Tigani, Roma gypsies. Roma and Romanians are very different people. Romanians would give you almost everything yet Roma will take almost everything. And don't " PC " me on this fact.
What a shame you didn't get into the geology museum. They have an astonishing room - pitch black on entry - with a fantastic display of minerals that fluoresce under the UV light. Like an Aladin's cave.
The Natural History Museum was brilliant! What a pity about the rain during the rest of your day, However the Romanian restaurant was very good, lovely décor and huge plates of food!
Shame about the weather but looks a fun day out. Wow that was a lot of meat and spuds! Scott, don't forget to engage with your viewers. It's a kindness that many travel channels do.
as a recent subscriber i really enjoyed this and the previous video. i have always loved travel though have not been to loads of places. Romania is on my list for the the future 👍🏻😃
Great video, Scott. The cave part reminded me a bit of the Postonja Cave in Slovenia. If you haven't been there, I recommend it. The food in the restaurant looked so good, too. Andy.
Even if it doesn't look so Bucharest railway station was designed by the famous architect Paul Gotterau! So is Gara Filaret and Macca-Villacrosse honours the famous catalan architect chief of Bucharest, Xavier Villacrosse! 🇪🇸⚜🇫🇷
You could visit the italian church in Bucharest, Baratia church wich is built by the austrian emperor it's even older but it burned some time in the past, Saint Joseph cathedral, People's Salvation and there is a new one all covered in gold of 2 million euros by the owner of FCSB Biserica Pipera! Anglican Church is monumental, Lutheran Church! 💚💛🍟🍔
Blair doesn't look like he's enjoying himself. Always on his fon. Guess we're just too old folk who enjoy your old format of seeing architecture, sites and your sense of humor when you're not distracted by Blair
Have you booked your flights to Sydney yet? He'll be wondering why he couldn't have grown up there. Should take him to Bangkok en route. You'll love it.
Yeah, Noodle Pack has a fast food energy to it. Honeygrow in the Philadelphia area (although they do have locations near New York, Baltimore, and a growing presence around DC), likely better than that
A great video Scott. Good to see you had a nice time. Did you get to see the Palace of Nicolae Ceaușescu, If not maybe that's a reason to go back again. Love watching your videos.
Great video as always scott and with ya lad ,i'll have to try a little trip like this with my youngest lad whos only 17 so i'll wait till december when he's 18😂oh he's called scott by the way😂(my 3 have english names it was their french mother who choses them) ithe meal cost how much ?you didn't mention it ,and the hôtel room?
Carrefour, Scott: Yes, it's French (and it means "crossroads"), but because it doesn't have a wee line above the "e" called an acute accent (when you pronounce it "ay"), you say, "CAR-foor" as in motor car and not as in CARRY oot. You're welcome. 😄
Were they cigarette butt's on the table whilst eating pretzels at the station? No ashtray just randomly on paper, couldn't translate what the paper said though
He's a fine young man Scott, glad to see you bond over a weekend.

I like to see Blair in charge! He's a gid lad. Only you two could make a rainy day in Bucharest so interesting.
I told him later it was a pleasure to travel with him. He seems rather keen to do it again.
Scott, U got to vlog the trip to Australia in October
I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the 2 boys in Bucharest and lovely to see you relaxing with Blair over a few beers. More father and son videos please

I love your videos. It’s nice to see you travel with Blair. Maybe he’ll be vlogging on his own someday. Safe travels. Cheers
Blair is a talkative lad
Blair is the cool guy who does not say much. Remined me a little bit of the radio interview of the Bruce Willis' character in the Fifth Element. 🤣🤣🤣
"Susan" means sesame (seeds), so that wasn't the name of the pretzel, it just showed what's on it.
Super vids. Enjoyed them both. Glad you had Blairs company.😁
I am the proud Father of 7 month old twins. I hope when they are older, that I have as good a bond with them as you have with your son. Very interesting video, you really bounce off each other, hope to see more collaborations in the future. Thanks guys 😊
What a lucky dad.just as much he’s a lucky son
Very interesting tour with Blair. Well done and not much fun in rain! From wet coast of BC.

Re the woman who approached you, if my Bucharest North experience is anything to go by, 99% sure she was trying to scam you :D
The Romanians are sick of the Tigani, Roma gypsies.
Roma and Romanians are very different people.
Romanians would give you almost everything yet Roma will take almost everything.
And don't " PC " me on this fact.

Big Issue seller returning to UK after holidaying in her Transylvanian mansion perhaps 😉
Wow what lovely weather 😊
Interesting!
They are going to modernise Gara de Nord and bring some new trains 38 Coradia and 62 Pesa Swing! 🍕🍾🤘
Thanks for putting Bucharest on our City Break holiday destination list, looks like it has distinctive character bit like Prague & Budapest
You should have gone to the Casa Populi, the English Bar at the Athenee Price Hotel (Hilton)
I love the Supermarkets vids. For me it is a package deal.
Thank you for taking me along
What a shame you didn't get into the geology museum. They have an astonishing room - pitch black on entry - with a fantastic display of minerals that fluoresce under the UV light. Like an Aladin's cave.
Great seeing you both have a great time
That was fun. Thank you Scott
Looked an enjoyable trip despite the weather xx
I love Ibis Styles hotels. Such a great experience staying in them. Not even ‘for the price’, just a great place to stay.
6:07 That dinosaur is even older than Cliff Richard and Anne Robinson - combined!!!
The Natural History Museum was brilliant! What a pity about the rain during the rest of your day, However the Romanian restaurant was very good, lovely décor and huge plates of food!

Great video, Scott. The cave part reminded me a bit of the Postonja Cave in Slovenia. If you haven't been there, I recommend it. The food in the restaurant looked so good, too. Andy.

Food looked great
nice to get the trip in with the lad
Great episode!
That's better Scott. We like to see more travel videos instead of supermarket ones. You should take Blair on more trips with you.
We? You don't speak for me. I like both.
That was some quantity of food! If you ever go again take a doggy bag so you can have a midnight snack!
Cheers thoroughly enjoyable. Thank Blair for holding your hand?
Great video, If Zoos are an intrest , Next time you're in Budapest you must visit the Budapest Zoo near the Main City Park, one of the best in Europe.
Couldnt get a word in edge for blair
cool😶😶😶
You could visit the italian church in Bucharest, Baratia church wich is built by the austrian emperor it's even older but it burned some time in the past, Saint Joseph cathedral, People's Salvation and there is a new one all covered in gold of 2 million euros by the owner of FCSB Biserica Pipera! I was hoping to see the brown cat again..
I think I have a crush on Blair 🤭
Totally missed the Palace of Parliament and historical sights?
Blair doesn't look like he's enjoying himself. Always on his fon. Guess we're just too old folk who enjoy your old format of seeing architecture, sites and your sense of humor when you're not distracted by Blair

Yeah, Noodle Pack has a fast food energy to it. Honeygrow in the Philadelphia area (although they do have locations near New York, Baltimore, and a growing presence around DC), likely better than that
Next time you go to Bucharest, consider a "treasure hunt" theme for haggis. (
A great video Scott. Good to see you had a nice time. Did you get to see the Palace of Nicolae Ceaușescu, If not maybe that's a reason to go back again. Love watching your videos.
The food looked amazing.
What will you two get up to next?
Will it be following St Mirren on their European adventures?
Hmm, I'm guessing that your pretzel called susan, might have been susam. In Serbian, susam means sesame, so could be very similar in Romanian!
What a miserable day but it's been the same in Scotland.
100 hairs escaped from Bucharest Zoo. Police had to comb the area.
Wow-Blair is a man of many words, isn’t he? 😁 Great vlog- more father/son trips pleez 👍
Did you do dublin Zoo
The Dead Zoo, thats what the Irish call their natural histoty museum.
Scott was tired so he needed to book-a-rest.
Are Karcher power washers any good?
Great video as always scott and with ya lad ,i'll have to try a little trip like this with my youngest lad whos only 17 so i'll wait till december when he's 18😂oh he's called scott by the way😂(my 3 have english names it was their french mother who choses them) ithe meal cost how much ?you didn't mention it ,and the hôtel room?
it carol kirkwood birthday today planes trains everything
That Blair is a bad influence on you Scott. More beer consumed in Bucharest than most trips.
Carrefour, Scott: Yes, it's French (and it means "crossroads"), but because it doesn't have a wee line above the "e" called an acute accent (when you pronounce it "ay"), you say, "CAR-foor" as in motor car and not as in CARRY oot. You're welcome. 😄
whats wrong with rain you must be used to it comming from scotland
How much was the bill in the restaurant mate? Meat platters and beers?
Were they cigarette butt's on the table whilst eating pretzels at the station? No ashtray just randomly on paper, couldn't translate what the paper said though
Not sure Bucharest looks very interesting, not somewhere I would rush to visit. Maybe the weather did not help.
Did you get a Romanian Kit Kat?
I want to know too! Hope Sarah wasn’t disappointed!
Hope you don't mind me asking, what age is your son.
