"The Eleven O'clock Number" (with Angela Lansbury - "Send in the Clowns" from A Little Night Music; Betty Buckley - "Memory" from Cats; Larry Kert - "Being Alive" from Company) Развлечения
Ms. Lansbury has always loved her sequins and her low-cut necklines for events like this, but I have to say this particular dress is absolutely stunning on her.
Love her music and also here acting on MURDER SHE WROTE. ::)
Taka, years ago on a talk show, Angela talked about how she really was not much of the glamour type but more the "sensible shoes" look. At some point, Bob Mackie began dressing her for high level events such as this program. I agree totally. The three times I saw her hosting the Tony Awards--what a knockout!
Uhm did you see the slit, it’s still saucy.
You are so right!!! So looks supergorgeos in this dress... 🌹
"The dress was meant to WOW and it did!" Review of Miss Lansbury's dress at the time of the awards. She made her entrance on stage by coming down a spiral staircase, to thunderus applause from her piers.

Angela has always known exactly how to dress and present herself! Not to mention her extraordinary talent! Will always be one of my favorites! Excluding my local favorites, or course!
Angela Landsbury is the most elegant celebrity I have ever met.
Betty Buckley has such presence--no matter what she sings.
Anything that this lady can't do is a legend of sorts when she wears something or singing shes the best of them all
I'm sorry. I cannot hear this song and not start bawling uncontrollably. I saw Cats with my boyfriend of 33 1/2 years. He passed 3 years ago August 11. Beautiful song though. Being Alive is great too.
Saw Betty do this live. Even 30 years later, she transformed instantaneously into Grizabella. Gorgeous actress :)
Between “Memory”, “As If We Never Said Goodbye” & “When There’s No One” from “Carrie”, Betty still makes me cry!
Well, those songs, and her first season as “Abby” on “Eighth Is Enough”, when she found Tommy’s wrapped birthday present his mother got him before she died.
I had tickets to see her in Chicago doing “Hello, Dolly!”. But, a bad heart & an error in blood type matching made me miss out on both the show & a transplant.
She does sound kind of like a cat, being stepped on.
Larry Kert died a year and one day after this performance. Great vocalist.
Also so appreciate seeing the late, great Larry Kert
T Buckley has my heart! She is simply exquisite!
Angela ! GO ! GIRL !! What A DRESS!!!!!👍👍 Looking GREAT!!!
Larry Kurt! I had the pleasure to speak with him a few times. What a sweet and gracious man. What a loss.
Loved seeing Betty in Cats -- one couldn't take one's eyes off her
Its lovely to hear the origin and inspiration of beautiful songs. A simple gesture and poem can make a remarkable songs that share a story.
Love Angela Lansbury's dress. I wish that women still dressed this well. Much less men wearing something suitable other than jeans and cheap suits!
WHAT A VOICE MS. BUCKLEY HAD....
Rest in peace Dame Angela!
Does she ever NOT! She is the best!
Ms Lansbury is stunning!
This performance has stayed with me all these years, but as a memory, and here it is to be enjoyed once again. Thank you for posting this!
La elegancia personificada , en todos sus aspectos digna de admiracion, y con su canto nos hace sentir vivos para seguir adelante, con su imagen para el recuerdo de siempre por los tiempos
Buckley nails it again.
I've never seen Ms. Lansbury's hair this elegant. She really pulled everything together in a special way here.
All wonderful performances but Angela's rendition is spectacular. Conveys all the emotion with a simple basic intrepretation of the song and lyrics.
I only wish she had done the whole song. She only does half of it, yet it's still my favourite interpretation.
Phenomenally Talented Broadway ✨ Stars👏👏👏👏👏🌹🌹🌹💖
horrid being old,....looking bak on it all....thank u ms buckley....gr8 performance.
She is so beautiful 😍
OOOOH! This is one great presentation. Thanks for sharing. Angela hopes to do one more Murder She Wrote. Hope she does.
I love the subtitles!
This is great. Thank you!
CATS too many memories
This is great!
FABULOUS!!!!!
And she was a wonderful Madame Armfeldt!
Cool! Thanks!!!!
Angela would have been a lovely Desire in her time.
Everyone thinks of Angela as being the lovely grandmother type, but people tend to forget that she was really good at playing the bawdy seductress! I think she could have done Desiree major justice.
Wonderful
Потрясающе талантлива!!!!
The story here of the origin of "Send in the Clowns" is charming, but not in line with most other stories about this song that I've heard. Earlier versions indicate that it had become apparent that a ballad was needed at that point in the show, but since Glynis Johns was not known for her singing ability, it was decided that the new number would be for Len Cariou to sing. However, while Sondheim was at work that night, the muse arrived and instructed him differently.
So what's a person to believe?
Wow that's Texas hair
What event was this from?
I would have loved some better choices, like Rose's Turn or The Music That Makes Me Dance...but Memory....ugh.
Also Till there was you from The Music Man,
.....Too bad they didn't take a vote on what Nicky wanted, huh?
Memory is unarguably one of the greatest broadways songs. The show is what makes people think of it badly. If you haven’t seen cats, you really can’t judge it, it’s extremely weird in the greatest musical way possible
That is the worst arrangement of Being Alive. Sondheim must have been horrified!!!!
Larry Kert was certainly already a little weakened because of his illness. He died of AIDS two years later.
Angela Lansbury looks beautiful. Singers not so hot, lol
