I've had the same problem, and here is how I got it to work. I first downloaded v5.1.3. This version lets you select your product in the beginning. Select the Bolt. It doesn't want to connect to the bike, that's fine. Important thing is the app now has it saved in its memory that I'm trying to connect a Bolt. DO NOT uninstall the app. Install v6.2.9 as an update, and the memory of the fact that my device is a Bolt is preserved. Now when I start the newer app it properly recognizes my bike as the Bolt and allows me to set max speed at 19mph. Hope this helps!

This video method didnt work but the v5.1.3 upgrade to 6.2.9 method worked u should make another video on it that should help others that are stuck
ive been trying for days to get bolt to go over 15mph and when I downloaded old version it wont connect...it acts like my bolt is a hoverboard

I was genuinely very cautious about this at first, felt weird I could only do it on android and that there are a lot of weird cautions like “we are not responsible for damage to your phone” luckily I had a phone I don’t care about and tried it out. Edit next day , bike no longer worked INSTANTLY KILLED THE BATTERy . Cool vid man teachin kids to burn out the battery
How did it burn your battery? Lol, this setting doesn't change anything with battery . 🤣 It was manufactured to increase speed but discontinued due to follow speed regulations and nothing to do with battery or motor and controller.

When I connect with Ride Jetson app 6.2.7, the app thinks my Bolt is a hoverboard and max speed is capped at 12 mph. Anyway to fix this?
Did you hit the subscribe button before doing it? Just kidding... Did you uninstall the new app before installing old one? it's normal to see 12 mph when you installed but I think you need to select jetson bolt when installing need to connect your jetson bolt to the app then open it and adjust the speed as shown in the video or this video ruclips.net/video/1jwAQ-8V-Bc/видео.html . @Jacob Wren - This is because you have to BT connect to the Bolt after app install. It defaults to MAX 12 MPH because your not connected to the ebike. Once connected the app will revert to max 19 MPH setting on the slider setting. This works BTW. I uninstalled my current app and rolled back to this version and now I can max out at 18.6 MPH. Current version of the app only allowed me to hit 16.7 MPH so I gained a few.
@@askdad You can't install the older version without uninstalling the current one. The older version refuses to connect to my bolt, perhaps due to a revision to the bike. I bought the bolt three months ago.

When he said wear a helmit, DO IT. I just ripped my ear almost off. I can see cartlage about the size of my pinky finger nail on my ear, no joke. I will be pissed if I die from a tiny bike wreck lol

So I got this to work fine on my initial bolt, but second bolt will not stay connected to Bluetooth, it keeps disconnecting , anyone know the fix?

For the bolt pro, it came in 15 MPH, but on the app you can change it to the max speed without cutting any wires in the motor of the bike?

At first it didn't find device, then I manually search in phone bluetooth and it found device but ask for pin. I not have pin, so I try to search again with app and didn't find it. So I hit skip, then it showed screen but no mph came up only connect to device came up, so I hit connect at top of window it took me to when I skip on app then it showed default password and I enter then it worked!!!! Yayyyyyyy!!!!! Different process but it worked :)

Updated my app today, my app says 15mph max speed, my bike goes ~18.5
Same for me. I have the latest app, v6.4.2 and set speed just above 15. I keep app connected, lift rear wheel and give it full throttle. The app reports 18.6 mph.

@@juzeljames7793 FYI: My comment was referring to Jetson Bolt, not the Pro. I have since bought a Pro also. I removed the BT adapted from the Bolt and put it in my Pro. I was not able to get above 15 mph on Pro so I installed the older app and then was able to get speed up slightly, around 17, not 19.
You do need to be called out for the fact you read my Facebook post in the Jetson group, and then made this video, allowing people to make the assumption that you figured all this out. As i was the first person to discover all of this and post it for others to try. Im 100% sure you read that, and then made your Video. You should give credit to me, Chris Brown.
I definitely didn't get it from Facebook. I think I made the video even before the group was formed.

You posted a video prior to this one, where you talked about the "white wire" and i comented on that video telling you the white wire doesnt work, and that the only way to get an increased speed out of these was the old app version from a github/app repository. You then thanked me for the info. NOW i see this video out. You are a bullshitter on top of stealing peoples work and claiming it for your own. You need better memory retention skills.... I gave you the link to the facebook group with my step by step on that video, that SAME facebook group was around long before you started posting videos. Either you have a horrible memory and/or choose to lie instead...

He followed my step by step that was originally posted months before this on the Jetson Bolt facebook group where i gave a VERY detailed step by step process, which he copied, then made a video giving people the impression he knows what hes doing, while not providing all the info that i did on how & why this works, including what to do if you cant get it working.

Yes, you must to be by your bike to connect the Bluetooth and bike should be on as well. Oh, and you should hit Subscribe button or your scooter will not get it ! 😂
Yes thanks I downloaded it on friends phone. Did everything, however , it still does not have the power to 18 like it used to. 17mph- then it slowed to 15.5 full throttle. Still lags. I used to reuse it almost everyday- so I know the difference. Funny thing is I never opened the app on my I phone after changing it to 18mph 6 months ago.
Thanks for share! Did you get message when changing 19mph? I am planning to run the speed test on jetson bolt to see if I will get the same speed as I used to get before they updated the app. I were able to get 18 - 18.4 mph with me over 200 lb. I will plan to open up this bolt to see what is inside and make speed test if there is white cable disconnected. I will post the videos probably next week
DAD's Channel yes it said 19 mph. Then I immediately turned off jetson and uninstalled app 2 minutes later. Maybe I need to try it again and turn off Bluetooth ASAP then uninstall it. We’ll see.
May be to try to ride first before you disconnected Bluetooth? Let me know if that worked?

Anyone know if 19mph was advertised for the Bolt? I ask because legally speaking taking away features that were promised explicitly is illegal, Sony had to pay millions to PS3 owners when it eventually chose to disallow the use of other OS on the PS3 (Linux), a feature explicitly promised in advertising and on the box. I think it was $65 per system for anyone who claimed it in a settlement.
No, it market as 16 mph . I don’t think the Sony case would be the same for other companies unless they got a lot of money as I got ripped off by Wink company as they market no fee but now they charge. I will post link later for you to see

@@askdad Cheers my friend, good points on all fronts.I think they just cut the increased speed in an attempt to not make the bolt plus seem slow at only 15mph. I have been enjoying my bolt refrub immensely, honestly the most fun I've had in weeks. It does kind of look like a clown bike, though.

Most ToU I’ve seen tend to provide disclaimers regarding state and locks laws.
Some have claimed that the change in speed was due to legislation. If so, that’s their out and lawsuits will be limited as a result.

Try the new app if that works, then Uninstaller, and try again.
Now do it for the pro. If you open it up and unplug a white wire it should go 19mph, maybe even faster since it has a bigger motor.

disconnecting the tact from the motor doesnt make it go faster than the set rpm max, already tried this as soon as i opened it up :D

All depends on your weight and how you ride it.. It can last for 4 -10 miles

It looks like it does have speed limit also on motor . I am in USA and I think We have 20 mph but depending on each state and city might have different laws. This video is for entertainment only and not encourage to make any modifications :)

About 3 - 5 hours depending on how discharged the battery is

you probably did not connect the app with the bike as 12 is default setting without connection but once connected you can move to 19 mph
I did and I rode the bike as well but the max that says on app was 12 but runs only 15
