Over a year later and this video is still applicable. I was updating my Atomos V to version 10.74 and it would never acknowledge that there was a drive in it. After formatting, factory resetting and re-downloading the Atomos software I found your video explaining how to fix. Thank you so much for making this.
This did not work for me. The error still comes on after I update the firmware. I did find I had a bad SSD. That did not stop the error from coming up.
When it happen just remove the SSD, start it and see if it boots normally or with an error. Make sure your SSD is on exFat to install the update on recovery.
My Ninja simply refuses to update, no matter what I do. I tried separate drives, formatting on both the NInja and my PC, inside and out of recovery mode. Nothing. I'm at a loss. It simply won't recognise the file on the SSDs.
Hi, thanks for video! I followed your instructions exactly having suffered the Error screen. It worked, I updated to the latest OS (now 10.71.1), but after restarting, the dreaded error screen came back again! - Have I got a dodgy unit? Have contacted Atomos support - no help whatsoever! - I really need help!!
My touch screen is unresponsive everything else works except when I insert the properly formatted drive with the correct firmware it wont detect and & start up the recovery process it just stays stuck on the recovery screen. So annoying
Unfortunately...I've tried this several times and each time...my Ninja V just boots back up to the recovery screen with the Failed To Update Firmware message. Waiting for Atomos to respond to my trouble ticket I sent them a few days ago but this ridiculous that their firmware updates can render the Ninja V useless!
I have done all the steps and for some reason its still not updating. The Ninja V is stuck on 10.52 and will not update or read the files that I insert into the SSD.
for me this still does not work T_T I tried with 2 different drives and in recovery mode, nothing happens...and I still cannot update my Ninja V T_T Any idea what could be wrong?

Thank you brother is work
thanks a lot really helpful!
Thanks for this. Will there be a problem with re-activating our codecs.
Just follow the same procedure to activate them or if you have the code provided by Atomos saved in your emails, it should be the same.
@@MYTECHREVIEW excellent thank you.
Really helpful. Have you ever had the monitor get stuck in recovery mode?

You might have gotten a defective unit. Just do it again and see if at some point it stops and maybe you can get it replaced by Atomos.

Format the SSD on a computer, then try to update with the new file. Use exFat type to format the SSD.

I have this same problem, did you figure it out?
How can I change to English, mine came in Japanese
How is this relevant in April 2024?
I am on os 11.04.02 not os 10.
The process still the same, doesn't matter which version of firmware you are using because is the same hardware.
muito bommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Every time I would go to start the ninja v I would put it into recovery mode instead HA
