Why Politics Won’t Stop the Oakland A’s From Moving to Vegas

- Ignore the political noise. With A’s owner, John Fisher, putting up an unprecedented amount of his own money, along with MLB waiving any potential relocation fee, it’s clear the higher ups want to get this done. It’s only a matter of time.
Beyond the simple joy of having an MLB ballpark in your backyard, an MLB team brings more jobs, tourists, and gives a solid boost to this economy. I couldn’t be more excited!

The reality is if you’re throwing money at john fisher and Dave kaval, be careful what you wish for… vegas could sustain baseball but you do not want this owner in town. Look into his history and don’t bury your head in the sand when it comes to that. Everyone deserves better.
My only counterpoint is the waiving of the relocation fee. MLB not just going to waive that fee without some assurances from Fisher and A’s ownership.
@@rightonrangers I’m sure you’re aware of how rushed and half baked this whole thing is ? They are cowboys and charlatans. Not to be trusted. I’d be praying for expansion if I were you. Listen to the A’s fans because their comments aren’t just coming from a place of bitterness, they are truly justified.
I'm from the Bay Area so I may be biased, but this bill has more holes than it than Swiss Cheese. Did you see the "rendering" of the stadium? Site is 35 acres, stadium is supposed to be 9 acres and yet in the picture the stadium takes up half the lot. Would you give 380 million to an ownership that can't even produce an accurate drawing? If this deal goes through, seven years from now the A's will be equivalent to the Miami Marlins West.
Las Vegas Review-Journal, Nevada's largest paper, EDITORIAL: Lawmakers should pass public financing
That’s the minority. My reaction is to national sports coverage of all the negative comments made by the politicians in regards to the taxes, especially
the negative comments on this is actually from Oaklanders i was surprised how many of them pretend they are from Vegas
Interesting. I wondered about that lol. A lot of the Nevada politicians feeding the negativity also
@@rightonrangers but i just saw from a reporter out in Oakland SB509 is going to be considered in Special Session
@@halomo81 I think the city of Oakland is trying all they can to show good faith but I think the owner wants Vegas
@@rightonrangers The negativity is from A's ownership, politicians are only addressing this. It is a crappy team that wants free money, even though Oakland already made them a substantial offer and a better site.
@@MrHobo71 I’m not convinced the city of Oakland would pack out a new stadium. Fisher putting in a billion of his own money into a Vegas stadium compared to the $385 million in tax money that doesn’t even affect the average Las Vegas citizen. Let’s not pretend Fisher just wants a free handout without A LOT of skin in the game.
Vegas has yet to prove itself as a viable sports market. It should be the last city MLB should be concidering
😂 I sure do hope this is sarcasm.
What a terrible video. He did nothing to explain his point. Why would Vegas want ownership that decimated the team? Sure, mlb and Fisher want to get this done, and the governor, but why would politicians representing the people want to support a billionaire who wants free money and provides a crappy product?
The tax wouldn’t affect anybody except baseball fans. Special tax district would be the stadium where ALL tax money would come from, as I explained in the video. The politicians want their cut. They want tax money going to their causes. Too much trust in politicians if you think they always put money in the right places to directly benefit the people. Oakland couldn’t get a new deal done for a stadium. It’s capitalism. The team will make more money in Vegas. And plenty of ppl here will support it.
@@rightonrangers why would they support a bad team?
I think they should go to San Antonio/Austin. Texas needs a third team and we need the Rangers to not be traveling to crummy Cali for in division games.
Nah. VIVA LAS VEGAS! 😂
