Scout today released a new image (shown above) teasing the front-end design of its upcoming electric off-road models. The brand also announced that its website is now live./

Agreed. Give me 50 miles of electric range and then another 300 of hybrid range and that would be plenty. Like the Mitsubishi Outland oh ev or the rav4 prime peeve.

I’ve been thinking of how cargo is one of my needs, but off road isn’t. If having ground clearance takes a bite out of range, seems like the El Camino/Holden Ute/slammed design is better. Random thought as I look at Volkswagen’s silhouette.
Maybe it’s called “scout” so it’s a new badge snd can bypass dealerships.
All these manufacturers have quoted their starting price to be under $40,000. What's so magical about that price? And all manufacturers calculate their mileage range using 40% driving on 55 mph highways and 60% driving in the city. I believe most people would like to see more honest mileage range. Such as:
At 70-80 mph interstate xx mpge.
At 55 mph highways xx mpge.
At 35 mph and below city xx mpge.

The way our dollars are depreciating, what $40,000 will purchase today will cost $50,000 at least in 2026.
