In the short-term, maybe it did, but the technology that created the power of which she speaks was the very thing that destroyed the variety, finesse and the use of tactics against different opponents within the sport - thus, undermining the popularity of the sport itself. The power has definitely increased, but the game of women’s tennis overall (certainly as entertainment) has not.
