For a "tough girl" she puts down her "wall" when she talks of her Mother helping her escape the "Spector" mansion. What a life this woman has lived and keeps on performing for all of us! Thanks Ronnie, Love You
Ronnie Spector is absolutely a gifted singer. Something mysterious about her voice, so magnetic and draws on the soul. Thanks Ronnie for sharing your talent.
Do you notice who is playing that Beautiful Slide Guitar ? George Harrison. He produced that entire Ronnie Spectra Album ..... I Love and Miss you Ronnie
Almost anyone who lived through the 50s and 60s would happily go back . They were indeed wonderful times and the Music was a huge part of it . Our Boomer Soundtrack is a large and diverse one. And The Ronettes were and are a giant part of that Soundtrack. Thank You Ronnie .
I saw her perform this song in the early 90s. It was a bittersweet interpretation. This is thefirst time I'm hearing her studio version. It was obscure and hard to obtain. The beauty of modern technology!
Ronnie's version is the best version of this song, by far. Beautiful, heart-felt arrangement, excellent production that keeps building and building until it explodes into ecstasy, and, as always, outstanding performance by Ronnie Ronette. This should have been the hit version.

Well not only that ...he also propelled her to stardom with Be My Baby. Success' if which she never tasted the likes again. And she absolutely never stopped singing and performing the song. She said herself that when the opportunity arouse to either tour with The Beatles or marry Phil Spector she chose the latter. And lasted six years with him. And she was an adult already and could have left him. So, I guess it is not a black and white kind of thing. We are all humans. But cheers, all that being said, her voice is gorgeous. Unfortunately. I don't think she had great songwriters at her disposal. Thank you, I hope I am not rude or anything
¡Qué sonido, qué belleza, qué profundidad, perfección y gracia del sonido, el canto, la canción, los intérpretes y la atmósfera de la canción! ¡Es Divino! ¡Un encanto! ¡Belleza! ❤️🙏💕
Ronnie, OH GOD, What's to Say! One Hot "BAD" Diva Singer. She Appears on the Newest PBS Special= Her Voice Sounds Great, Her "Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa," Gave me Chills. She's Slim and Still Knows How To "Slam It".
@dbrew2u So ironic that in the early 60s much of our socialization was geared to a perceived wonderful future. Man, if we only knew what would await us. Hell, almost could say that again for the 70s and 80s, absent the music of course. Yeah, go back, it is on my mind more and more as every year seems to get us closer to the ultimate troubles. At least we have our music and the memories.
Ronnie recorded this in Nashville on 16th August 1977 (the day Elvis died). It was written by Bonnie Tyler's mangers. Steve Popovitch of Epic Records played Ronnie a demo after her Say Goodbye To Hollywood single bombed & he persuaded her to record it. Sadly it also bombed.
Great take on this. I might say I like it better than Bonnie Tyler’s. Ronnie should have the statues with the likes of Tina Turner and Cher. Ronnie is still awesome.
IM 83 and still love Ronnie miss her !
😭
My heart aches knowing your gone. God gave you a beautiful voice. RIP

Spector was insane, she’s lucky he didn’t kill her.
I despise Phil for keeping her from us
Great rendition, Her voice sounds great !
Such a distinctive voice. Wish she'd done more covers. Like Elvis or Ronstadt.
She gave me all I needed, couldn't have asked for more.
Loved that voice since I was 10 years old...
