I wonder if the reason why gohan is so dedicated to be a scholar is because he didn’t want to be like his father. Gohan’s life experience with fighting is coated with nothing but violence and death not passion and training that goku inherited from his experiences. And perhaps more then just not wanting to be a fighter gohan may not want to be a sayian to indulge in that kind of warrior lifestyle. That’s why he became a scholar over a fighter and a hero over a saiyan because perhaps to him a saiyan fights for pleasure and desire while a hero fighters to end conflict and protect others. The former fights out of passion the later fights out of obligation. But perhaps unbeknownst to gohan while he may not have wanted to be a saiyan he was still exhibiting saiyan qualities perhaps not to fight but his fixation on studying was very saiyan in nature just like his father. And perhaps by the moment of the end of the movie when gohan achieves this new mentality where he realizes that standing aside is just not something he can do now that he achieves this beast form which if I could rename it, it would be the superhero gohan. It elevates gohan past the hero title while also exhibiting qualities of a saiyan nature but in gohans own unsaiyan way. Thus the Super “saiyan” Hero transformation is a blend of gohans saiyan impulses and his human sensibilities. A brief window that allows him to indulge in the fight in order to end the fight as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Cell Max does have Gokus Dna hmmmmm? But did you notice that Piccolo held Cell Max just like goku held Radditz? Now instead of sacrificing goku to win hes putting himself in danger while Gohan fires the special beam Canon.
I mean, he's basically Shin Godzilla, a big monster that's animalistic that basically has no other purpose other than to destroy. Not to mention the Shin Godzilla beams. I bet you could even make a Shin Godzilla 'Who Will Know' edit off of Cell Max and get 1k+ views off of it just because of the similarities.
