The technical explanation of products in your videos is really unmatched. I really appreciate how clearly you explain things and how honest your feedback is. I just picked up the MOFI 5500. Thanks.
Great preview, Chris. Thanks for being the first to share-their website just teased availability of May 3rd without any specs. When can we expect your full review, and will you share updates on the software experience?
How do I connect and use it for a home router I know I have to buy a SIM card but where do I connect the ethernet cable? be connected to the PC basically from from the Wi-Fi port to the PC right or from the first one to the PC
In my area the only isp offered is at&t at 3mb/s for almost $100 a month using old bell south lines. I heard about the mofi from you guys and its been a game changer! Everybody around here wants one now. I've preordered a starlink but if that doesn't work out, I'll be looking into the 5500. Thanks for the info guys!!!!
I had the same at&t plan for years. what a pain. I have had my 4500 for over a year now and love it. I get between 12 and 35 MBps and use about 150 to 200 GB a month. I only get charged $65 a month from AT&T for the sim card i use from my phone. There are better deals out there and i have tried other sims but because i have 2 other phones with AT&T i went with it. Its not to hard to hook up and there are some good you tube videos on it. mine cost 350 and i got the #4 version.
I had to send my Mofi back to them because they could not get it to work. I got the insty connect. All I can say the insty connect is far better than the mofi line in terms of speed, and setup. Cat 12 modem and it comes with a matched antenna for the modem.
Mofi replied to my comment and deleted stating they create all of their own hardware..yet their old version is based on ZBT WE826. I'm not sure why they deleted their message. It's not a secret....the mofi firmware is still better than what the OEM offers. But let's be transparent, please. I have a mofi device and it works great...I also have one direct from ZBT with OpenWRT that I compiled myself that's buggy as ever. The Mofi tax is worth it imho.
Will you ever make a video on how to set it up? It would be nice if you did. I'm having a lot of trouble trying to figure out how to set up the carrier aggregation.
Carrier aggregation is built in function of your modem, it's nothing you need to setup. Its automatic. For setup, you should contact your vendor for support - we don't provide that sort of content.
I just took delivery of the MOFI 4500 Cat 7 version. The software wasn't very difficult at all. in fact it recognized my T-mobile sim card and connected right off. I'll be interested to see your results with the 5500
@@MobileInternetResourceCenter It recognized the carrier from the sim, and TTL was already where I thought it should be. Switching to Visible was pretty easy as well. Just changed the APN to visible, I think you'll find they improved over the years. I'm looking forward to hearing your feedback after testing.
Not sure about them being hard to configure. I've found the MOFI-4500 pretty darn easy! Currently what I have works for my needs and not sure I can get much more out of my LTE setups until someone starts offering truly unlimited data plans...
Afaik, the 4500 can be configured to use the unlimited data plan that comes with youe cell service. Just plug in your SIM card, configure the router to act as if it's a cell phone, and off you go!
Sorry for my ignorance. Is this thing for internet connection, off cellular signal? And, what about in rural areas? We just bought land, nearest cell antenna is approximately 1.7 miles away. Last question... Can you hook up an external antenna that would be mounted outside on small pole?
I run 3 sim cards and swap them out through the month from verizon on the 4500. It would be nice to use 2 of them at a time to load balance. However i have 2 antenna lines coming in. 1 parabolic and another yaggi. Really dont want to put up 2 more to take part in the dual modem feature.
@@mbbobruh9473 I can confirm the visible does work and witout any noticable throttling. Seems to be true unlimited Internet service just as long as you configure the modem to act as if it were a cell phone in the setup. Can't speak to dual anything as it only accepts 1 SIM card at a time.
The 5500 documentation states "Ability to do band locking/advanced band filtering as well as automatic speed test to lock on fastest bands". I was wondering if other manufacturers are doing this or if its as easy as it sounds. I use my sim 7 in alot of really remote areas and it easily takes 30-40 minutes to band lock and speed test different bands with the router reboot. I struggle loaning out my sim 7 to friends and family becouse I dread getting the call that it dosnt work then having to walk them through how to band lock over the phone.
In my experience, nothing on the the MoFi is "as easy as it sounds". It does have some powerful band locking features, and they tell me they are working on a new automatic scanning feature that sounds cool - but it is still under development and I have not seen it functionally work yet.
I though I would Post an update to my comment. Here is a review I posted some where else. I upgraded my mofi 4500 sim 7 which has a cat 4 modem to a mofi 5500em7690 which has a cat 20 modem. Here is my 3 month review. Tldr good hardware. Needs a manual and I feel like a beta tester. So I paid about $500 for a new mofi. I chose the em7690 as I didn't want to pay another $150 for 5g which I wouldn't use due to its distance limitations. This one comes with 4x carrier aggregation and 2.4 and 5mhz wifi. Lets start with the bad. I pre ordered this so I got it day one. Alot of these problems I'm about to describe are because I feel it was released before all the kinks were worked out. I had a trip planned for 4th of July and this was supposed to be shipped a week before I was excited to use it then but it shipped two weeks late. Not the end of the world and probably won't happen to you as you won't order during a major product launch for them. I will say that they communicated this delay early and often with updates. When I received it one of the antenna port threads was bent and I couldn't put an antenna on. I emailed them about this and they said no problem we will take care of it. 6 emails and 2 months later no word past sending them pictures. I could have been much more aggressive about this but I managed to repair the threads with a tap and die set. While we are talking about antennas the wifi antenna connectors are sma rp. In laymen terms this means they are similar to what the industry standard is but are different. Why this matters in 90% of the antenna you buy online are just sma. Not rp. I don't know why they did this but they did. This makes it hard to find quality wifi antennas for it or use the ones I already have without an adapter. Also the wifi antennas joint is very weak and I've accidentally snapped two of them at the pivoit point. After three months there is still no manual. On the website it says" updated 5500 user manual will be updated soon but 90% of the features are the same as this user manaul". This would be fine except they majorly changed the user interface 1 month ago. This is both good and bad. Some features disappeared ( wifi bridge)( this just got added back) some were added ( automatic speed test and band locks). Since I recieved the 5500 it has had 16 updates. Most of the time this would be fine however as mentioned above there has been major changes to the user interface and features have disappeared and reappeared randomly. Becouse they have changed things so often the untill the recent update I don't have faith in the router that it will always work like the sim 7 does. This means I'm carrying both around becouse I have them and the sim 7 has been so solid. I even bought another real Verizon line ( mobile hotspot plan) becouse I thought visible was the problem for awhile (it wasn't). The physical hardware is good. It's a metal case which is good as I use it in a mobile setting. This this is big like the size of a tablet big. This might not be an issue for some but as we know we don't have a ton of space in our RV or truck and especially since it has 8 antennas. It's hard to tuck it in an out of the way area. If it's over 80 degs and it has direct sunlight on it it will over heat. Its boot time is also way longer than the sim 7 ( sim 7 was about a minute. The 5500 is about 4-5 minutes) this is anoying when you just need to send a quick email or when you are trying to find the best options and have to reboot the router alot. I have to say that the speed test band lock option is nice mainly because I loan this out from time to time to friends and family and it easier to walk them through a three button process over teaching them how to manually band lock and speed test. I was really looking forward to this feature on paper and it turned out meh. ( I was hopping it would do it when the router booted and I was hoping it would be quicker than the 10 - 13 minutes it takes to run it. Let's talk about speed. (This is based on the latest update which solved alot of the not connected issues I was having) In urban areas it performs very well 90- 100mbs down 30-40mbs up ( real Verizon) In remote areas 7+ miles from the tower it performs about the same as sim 7. Overall I feel like right now it's a meh. Mainly because of the software issues and the updates that randomly add and take away features. If it launched like it is today I would feel better about it but I feel like they should have delayed the launch to iron out the issues. For the price and hardware I feel like this was a decent deal. When all the software issues are ironed out I feel like this would be a great deal for a turn key solution.
@@XcarecaX Since the 4500 can be setup to look like a cell phone, I'd rather think that the 5500 would retain this feature as well. Why would they do anything else?
So if I understand this correctly, all you need do is put in a SIM card from your provider, and the basic unit (WiFi only) will give you an internet connection? While I was interested in the MoFi 4500, this newer router seems to be a better value for the money based on performance versus dollars spent. Any caveats to be aware of with the basic unit, or is there something else required in order to get internet service that I'm not fully understanding?
Hello, I am very excited to be getting my hands on the MoFi 5500 EM-9191 5G router. I don't know how far I am from the nearest tower but I will be testing T-Mobile and AT&T. Our current set up is a cricket wireless hotspot device. 100GB a month 2.5Ghz speeds. we have been using this for a few months and its draining. I cant even use my Xbox. Before this, we were using a metro pcs hotspot device and it was even worse always failing to connect. After doing more research I came to find out that my home location simply does better on the AT&T Network vs T-Mobile witch is why cricket, is doing a better job at providing us a better signal. Questions: Once I have my new MoFi router. How do I go about of getting my sim card, am I able to simply walk into T-Mobile and buy just a sim card or do I need to parches a phone and once home take the sim out of the phone and place into my router I would really hate have to buy a phone if I don't need to. How can I find my nearest Tower so that I can skip the trial and error. If I can find out that I am much closer to a T-Mobile tower. Then I will skip AT&T and get a T-Mo. sim card
Routers like the MoFi require a data only plan authorized for routers - here's our guide to our current top pick plans: www.rvmobileinternet.com/planpicks
Is it possible to extend the antennas to mount on top of my RV either on my manually raised and positioned TV antenna or my covered Winegard dish? It seems like higher mounts, exterior mounting, and aiming capabilities would increase signal reception significantly.
There are all sorts of options for external antennas and mounting.. here's our member guide on the topic: www.rvmobileinternet.com/guides/mobile-antenna-installation-for-rvs-boats-wifi-cellular/
So how many carriers/bands can I aggregate? I’m a trucker and I’d love to have this device so I can combine all available signals into a one stable fast connection.
That's dependent upon the modem - the Cat-7 in this particular model can do 2x carrier aggregation for down and upload. www.rvmobileinternet.com/cellular-modems
Will the 5GXeLTE allow for 2 separate Sim Cards on Verizon accounts at the same time and if I want external antennas will it require 2 separate MIMO antennas?
Is this available yet? My thinking is if I’m going to find a place for this beast in my van, I’m going 5G! Any good tutorials you’d suggest to learn about this technology! TY, and great video! You really seem to know the tech!
Does it continue to convert traffic to streaming data that allows/prevent data throttling ? IE my old mofi 4500 has no throttling and unlimited download on basic sim with low data cap !

My husband and I are considering going full time. We don’t have an RV yet and we want to make sure he’s going to be able to work remotely. His job is a customer service type job that uses a VPN and VOIP. He cannot get disconnected from a call because they are all recorded. Would something like this help? I guess I want to know if this would even be possible for us with the current technology. Can you give me a bit of guidance before we commit to this? Thank you!!
Question, what kind of upload speeds can I get from the new MOFI 5500. I’ll be using this in my home where I do not get reliable internet service. I’m on DSL right now and it’s constantly going out.
Totally depends many factors, including the carrier, data plan, towers, load and signal strength at your location. www.rvmobileinternet.com/performance
HELP!!!!! First, I love your content! Can you both help answer a question for me? I have a service called Nomad and they sent me a 4G LTE router that works off of Verizon towers. Here’s where I need some clarity: my download speed that I’ve been getting using their routers haven been anywhere from 5-10mbps down and around 1-2mbps up. However when I’m not connected to the router my phone has been clocking around 35-50mbps down and 5-10mbps up. Why’s is this? Why do I have slower speeds using their equipment versus just using my cellphone without being connected to the WiFi? They both are using the same Verizon service, it at least they should be. Can you please help?
i have a mofi and it works great. i never got good speeds out of it . i get 12 to 35 MBps and i live one mile from the tower. i think it is because of the traffic as i live in the city. My question is will the 5500 be faster of will i have the same at&t traffic problem?
Theoretically, you should have faster performance.. but if the issue is tower congestion, then hard to say. Lots of things impact performance. But even so, 12-35 Mbps is pretty darn good for cellular.
@@MobileInternetResourceCenter Thank you for the fast reply. My signal strength is - 104 but the quality is -14 so i think that what it is. I agree that the speed is good and i am happy with it. @@danstrong3383 Thanks for the reply. I have checked all the other bands and the one i use is the only one that gets 20mh all the other ones get 10mh. I'm glad to see you had such good luck with 5500. Thanks again.
@@MobileInternetResourceCenter I got the $700 one. Can u put a SIM card from ur cell phone into it? I tried that and I cannot get internet. Just days “wireless disabled or not associated”. But it shows I have a signal.
I think I'm done with cellular routers. I have the 4500 and the orbi lbr20--routers are fine, but the resellers aren't trustworthy, so I have a couple of expensive cellular routers gathering dust. For several months now I've just been using samsung dex and my phone's hotspot (120 GB on t-mobile)...because it's internet for my home, it's easy to run out. So I'll wait until Starlink ships to my area.
Yes, at least for my needs these devices are no longer of value. With the post merger loss of many resellers and the high prices of those that remain, much of my hardware is now useless and it will be going on Ebay. I have switched to using my phone exclusively for home internet. If I am going to be paying around $100 per month for a cellular reseller, I may as well switch to Starlink when it becomes available.
There are some new plans that you can see on this channel that offer $50 for 100Gb of data per month that you can go direct to the provider with Wish they offered $80 to $90 for 200GB as I think that would be reasonable and hope Starlink puts pressure on them to make better plans From our experience, a typical customer needs 150 to 200 Gb per month
@@Mofinetwork when the pandemic hit, the resellers cut us off at 400gb, while still calling their plans "unlimited"... Of course that limit supposedly came from AT&T, but ultimately I was paying more and getting cut off. If I'm going to survive on 100gb, I might as well just use the 120 gb hotspot included with my phone plan instead of paying extra. I pretty much have to stream exclusively on my phone though, but dex and screen mirroring have helped... Hate having to count gb's until Starlink gets here, but I refuse to pay $50/mo for a measly 100gb

Question: how does this work with regards to streaming say, Roku? We are full-timers and the park we are in now has a really poor wifi. It barely does email consistently and streaming TV is really spotty.
I'm using the MOFI 4500, with a Visible $25 a month plan and sim card. I can stream 4K movies on my ROKU TV from this MOFI without any buffering. No I cannot stream 4K movies to more than 1 ROKU tv at the same time without some buffering, but that's ok I don't need to frankly. I have NO idea why anyone wants to spend so much more money just to have the "fastest internet on the block" to do nothing more than I'm doing here. My latency is about 20 ms on average (seen it in the teens several times but 20 ms seems more common) and my download is around 12 Mbps with uploads as high as 16 Mbps on the stock antenna... nearest Verizon tower is over 2 miles away. I put up a HighBoost DOT for my smart phone to boost it's signal here and that helped my phone call quality oh so much! I intend to hook up an amplified external antenna mounted up high outside shortly for the MOFI. But this is plenty, for my needs just like I have it right now actually. And yes I changed the IMEI number of my MOFI 4500 with their Diagnostic firmware so that it doesn't "identify" itself as a router now. That MOFI 5500 just looks expensive and loaded with antenna out the wazoo! 5G has a more limited range than 4G LTE so it's really not a good option where I am (not inside a big city) so I'll pass since that doesn't improve my experience one bit. Besides, the more people who move to 5G the more bandwidth will be available on 4G LTE so my experience just gets better at no additional cost to me over time.... Win! I just checked my speed again, both with WiFi only and then with a CAT 6 network cable only and the speeds were almost identical so there is no advantage either way. 300 mbps WiFi works fine for my needs. So be sure what you are paying for isn't far and above what you actually have use for people! I'm just saying. A decade from now I have no idea what I'll be using, but for now I'm saving money with what I got and enjoying the experience I'm getting from it and that's what's important.
We've had one in for testing for a while. If a focus on just a single cellular connection at a time is the path you've decided is right for you, we like their approach to modem & antenna on the roof.

Hi. I'm new to your channel. Can you please explain usb cellular thethering? Thank you. I use my Verizon unlimited for everything and go thru the 30gs of hotspot to use my laptop pretty quick. Thanks for the consideration.
USB Cellular Tethering allows you to use the hotspot portion of your data plan as a WAN source on a router via.. well.. USB Tethering. More on router features: www.rvmobileinternet.com/routers
One thing to consider is that when you usb tether you are using the modem on your phone. I would venture to guess that most people are using a cellular router to use external antennas.
@@MobileInternetResourceCenter hi, thanks for the response. Im bit confused? I use verizon, i have the ultimate plan plus 30 gigs of hotspot. If im on the field in a remote area with cellular coverage i turn on my hotspot and use my laptop with fast speeds. How do i incorporate this antenna? Am i missing some info or am i just a dummy lol. My main question is can i tether my phone to my laptop and not use hotspot but my cell phones unlimited data? Thats why i asked about the tethering. Thanks
I’m out in the country, WHAT can y’all recommend for a cell signal booster. It’ll be stationary. We don’t have WiFi at the property. This is a cell signal booster only please. Thank you!
I don't see what the difference is you can have weak signals either stationary or on the go. I would look for a cell repeater with the ability to use an outside antenna for picking up the tower.
The modem category rating applies to the 4G side. For 5G - right now to get a better sense of features it helps to look at the bands supported, and the modem chipset being used.
The 5G (EM9191) is identical to the LTE (EM7690) but has 5G also. so on the LTE side, EM9191 and EM7690 is a cat20 5G is going to be very confusing as now they have SUB 600 and mm Wave note the EM9191 is a sub 600 the difference sub600 is more stable and has much better range than mmWave I personally don't know who designed mmWave as I find it very backward. We need more time to see how good it will be but on specs, they say even rain can effect mmWave signal so this is going to be very bad to have a brand new fast device that keeps cutting out due to things like rain and other factors that can cause them to loose signal. For most customers, I think the cat20 LTE solution is a good choice at $499.99 Then maybe 2 years later, should consider 5G as the 5G chips will get much better, faster and cheaper To pay $150 more just for 5G might be a bit too much for many.
I still think for my money and the fact that Insty Connect has a better quality system. As I see it Insty has all this beat . I’ve used the 4 g system for a couple months. It is very easy to set up and you don’t have to be a programmer to use it. I personally watched your review of Insty and I don’t think you gave it a good review. Just my opinion. I have the Mofi 4500 sim 7 unit and the Insty 4g system .
@@MobileInternetResourceCenter Would you be able to release some preliminary results on your tests? :D I was going to pre-order the Insty Connect 5G today (they provide a 4G loaner until the 5G comes out), but now that I'm seeing this I'm thinking twice.
@@Version.B they provide a loaner? That’s an interesting option because I am looking to buy something now...been waiting for the MoFi 5500 to come out so I can decide.
As an FYI We had to decide on wifi6 vs wifi5 but wifi6 has too many antennas We will make a wifi 6 router but have to decide on whether to put a mix or internal and external antenna for the wifi as that many antennas could end up causing more issues than it is worth We did do a full iperf test on an Asus latest gaming wifi6 router vs the Mofi5500 and the Mofi had better results
My Mofi 4500 Sim 7 worked great for a year and then started losing signal and then bands. I tried a new carrier sim (tmobile) and a Verizon sim from my phone and could not get a usable signal. Called Mofi technical support line and they gave excuse after excuse why nothing worked. First it was Verizon does not work at all then it was Tmobile only works part time and I should subscribe to Olive network. I finally am giving up on Mofi alltogether and exploring other options. It will not be Mofi for me.
Phone SIMs aren't authorized for use in routers and the carriers constantly trying to shut that practice down, you need a router/hotspot plan for it to work reliably.
These things are a big investment and to be honest I think this is junk and way over promises. I am in the mountains and am about 3 miles from two sources. I used a 8800L for years here and thought I would get a big boost from a 5500. Not so... not at all... actually just about the same with or without an external antenna. I often get fading in and out and am trying to aggregate channels 66/13 verizon. Wondering if the 5500 would work well with a booster?
A router won't necessarily perform better than a hotspot - it all comes down to the modem inside and the antennas used. Boosters aren't always the best solution for cellular data - but in some situations, they can be useful. Here's our guide to them: www.rvmobileinternet.com/boosters
@@MobileInternetResourceCenter Well I wave a top quality antenna from wave form and a 5500... I get the same reception whether stock antennas or the external. I had to send my Mofi back to them because they could not get it to work. I got the insty connect. All I can say the insty connect is far better than the mofi line in terms of speed, and setup. Cat 12 modem and it comes with a matched antenna for the modem.
The current MoFi's are Cat 7 and below. A Cat 12 will indeed outperform just on that measure alone.
From most of the tests I've seen so far 4G LTE is still king in speed.

@@ronkarwoski656 I was wondering if two visible service Sims could bond for faster speeds with the dual 5500 router
Good job. Looking forward to your review of the 5G sub 6 mofi
Not sure about them being hard to configure. I've found the MOFI-4500 pretty darn easy!
Currently what I have works for my needs and not sure I can get much more out of my LTE setups until someone starts offering truly unlimited data plans...
^^ this. Not sure who the 5500 is targeting.
Just FYI, ATT Business SIMS have a 1tb datacap
Afaik, the 4500 can be configured to use the unlimited data plan that comes with youe cell service. Just plug in your SIM card, configure the router to act as if it's a cell phone, and off you go!
What is the distance for receiving the signal
Sorry for my ignorance. Is this thing for internet connection, off cellular signal? And, what about in rural areas? We just bought land, nearest cell antenna is approximately 1.7 miles away. Last question... Can you hook up an external antenna that would be mounted outside on small pole?
This is a cellular embedded router.. and yes, external antennas are possible. More on routers: www.rvmobileinternet.com/routers
@@MobileInternetResourceCenter can it be used for internet?
Yes, assuming you have an internet service via cellular or Ethernet to use with the router.
I’m new to this ~ but that’s an interesting idea, two antenna styles. Smart 👍
Do you think it would work for visibles service through Verizon towers? And would those work for the dual load
@@mbbobruh9473 I can confirm the visible does work and witout any noticable throttling. Seems to be true unlimited Internet service just as long as you configure the modem to act as if it were a cell phone in the setup. Can't speak to dual anything as it only accepts 1 SIM card at a time.
The 5500 documentation states "Ability to do band locking/advanced band filtering as well as automatic speed test to lock on fastest
bands".
On the website it says"
updated 5500 user manual will be updated soon but 90% of the features are the same as this user manaul".
(This is based on the latest update which solved alot of the not connected issues I was having)
In urban areas it performs very well 90- 100mbs down 30-40mbs up ( real Verizon)
In remote areas 7+ miles from the tower it performs about the same as sim 7.
@@canopener991 Are you able to use TTL settings that keep it from being throttled down for being a router?
@@XcarecaX it depends what service you use but this is an option on this router and it works for some.
@@XcarecaX Since the 4500 can be setup to look like a cell phone, I'd rather think that the 5500 would retain this feature as well. Why would they do anything else?

Questions:
Once I have my new MoFi router.
Then I will skip AT&T and get a T-Mo. sim card

Thank you so much. I have learned a lot!
How many devices can be connected to this device at a time
More than a typical RVer or boater would need.
Think I can use this with a Verizon GetMore Phone line SIM? Would sure like to use it with the unlimited priority access
Verizon phone SIMs in hotspots use a plan's hotspot data bucket - you don't get unlimited priority access.
Will the 5GXeLTE allow for 2 separate Sim Cards on Verizon accounts at the same time and if I want external antennas will it require 2 separate MIMO antennas?
There is one model that is dual modem.. and yes, each modem on that model would require it's own pair of antennas.
Is this available yet? My thinking is if I’m going to find a place for this beast in my van, I’m going 5G! Any good tutorials you’d suggest to learn about this technology! TY, and great video! You really seem to know the tech!

There are some new plans that you can see on this channel that offer $50 for 100Gb of data per month that you can go direct to the provider with
Wish they offered $80 to $90 for 200GB as I think that would be reasonable and hope Starlink puts pressure on them to make better plans
From our experience, a typical customer needs 150 to 200 Gb per month
@@Mofinetwork when the pandemic hit, the resellers cut us off at 400gb, while still calling their plans "unlimited"... Of course that limit supposedly came from AT&T, but ultimately I was paying more and getting cut off.

If you have a solid cellular signal and suitable data plan, it should work fine.
A decade from now I have no idea what I'll be using, but for now I'm saving money with what I got and enjoying the experience I'm getting from it and that's what's important.

does 5g carry carry a category rating?
The modem category rating applies to the 4G side. For 5G - right now to get a better sense of features it helps to look at the bands supported, and the modem chipset being used.
The 5G (EM9191) is identical to the LTE (EM7690) but has 5G also.
so on the LTE side, EM9191 and EM7690 is a cat20
5G is going to be very confusing as now they have SUB 600 and mm Wave
note the EM9191 is a sub 600
the difference sub600 is more stable and has much better range than mmWave
I personally don't know who designed mmWave as I find it very backward.
We need more time to see how good it will be but on specs, they say even rain can effect mmWave signal so this is going to be very bad to have a brand new fast device that keeps cutting out due to things like rain and other factors that can cause them to loose signal.
For most customers, I think the cat20 LTE solution is a good choice at $499.99
Then maybe 2 years later, should consider 5G as the 5G chips will get much better, faster and cheaper
To pay $150 more just for 5G might be a bit too much for many.

My problem is I am just on the edge of good signal and crappy one. About 105-110 db as I said I'm about 3 miles away and am trying to aggregate ch 66/13 good reception about 75% of the time. When good Im at 75mps down an 20 up... but it drops to 2 up and 4 down when it acts up. I regret buying the 5500 thats for sure.
