    Stefano from Precision Sound Lab is very knowledgeable and helpful guy. He has helped me a lot with my Technics 1210 MK5. Make sure to check their RCA connector mod - amazing solution for those annoying RCA cables. Fully recommend.

    Thanks for the excellent video. I am considering purchase of sl1200 from japan with 100 volt system. Would i have to mod anything else if I install one of these?

      Hello Jack, no it’s the same for the 100V decks, as you will remove all the original power supply parts using our EPS. Very straightforward and simple installation as you can see from the video tutorial.

    Will this PSU work for Technics SL1210GAE 55th Anniversary TT?

      Hello, no this is for Mk2 to Mk6 series. You can find the EPS G edition on our website. For the 1210GAE there is also the option to have the Limited Edition one that will have matching serial number of your deck.

      @@precisionsoundlab245 Will installing this on a 1200 MK4 convert it from Japanese 110v to UK 230v? Also, is there any difference other than the cosmetic differences between the 1200 and 1210 versions you sell?

    • @precisionsoundlab245
      @precisionsoundlab245  Год назад

      @@christophermawdsley7604 yes it will convert your 110V Mk4 to use European 230V mains (so you have to choose the 220V version of our EPS).
      The 1200 and 1210 version of our EPS are exactly the same excluding the faceplate color.

    Can anyone tell me what this is for?

    • @peppermintpig974
      @peppermintpig974 2 года назад

      Sensitive MM cartridges may pick up EM field of internal power supply. Making the power supply unit external of the table removes that issue.
      There may be other reasons, including better power regulation to reduce electrical impact of audio.

      We can supply on request our EPS with an original micro switch already wired to it to keep the original button working but it implies the opening of the bottom. The original development is focused on ease of installation.

    One revision that is required is to have a plug on both ends to connect the mains cable to the external power supply unit as well as SL1200 MK2, like you've created for the SL1200G. This will mean there is no cable dangling from the SL1200 MK2. See 3:47 in video above for you to understand what I'm talking about. Leaving it this way is just the same as having the original mains cable coming out the SL1200 MK2. In order to put this in place you'll need something like the phono box that you've created, as plugging in vertical might not be a option due to the plug size. This will enable further options for the user to place the external power supply some distant away from the turntable. Instead of the hardwired piece of cable dictating power supply placement.
    I'll buy two of these power supplies once this revision is put in place.
    You mention-
    "Our EPS is fined tuned with original electronic of the turntable featuring a soft-start mode to avoid any stress to the motor."
    This doesn't interfere with the start / stop original performance of the motor?

    • @precisionsoundlab245
      @precisionsoundlab245  2 года назад +1

      Hello, the umbilical cable of our kit is NOT a mains cable, as it will not transport 220/110V.
      As that cable is 1,2m long it will let you to place the external unit enough far from the turntable.
      BTW we are available to do custom length umbilical cable on all our units, just let us know before shipping.
      The cable use specifical connectors that are not easy to open, solder and close for our typical customer so it will be useless to do it as for the 1200G that have removable mains cable from the factory.
      Regarding the soft start system it will not interferes with original start and stop speed of the turntable.
      Hope it clarifies your doubts.
      Best,
      Precision Sound Lab.

      @@precisionsoundlab245 Had another look at the video, you cut the switch wires (live and neutral) that means the on / off switch on the strobe will not work. Can you confirm?
      Can the on / off switch not be wired into your circuit?

    • @precisionsoundlab245
      @precisionsoundlab245  2 года назад +2

      @@yoogeebearproductions4581 the strobe will remain working and functional. For ease of assembly the standard installation is done cutting the wires, this just let the original on/off switch no more working and the deck will be powered up via the external unit switch only.
      BTW if you don’t mind to remove the bottom of the deck we can supply the EPS with a new wired switch that will be a direct substitute of original one (hold in place by a screw) so you can have original switch working too.
