Vintage Story Desert Life Ep 62: Exploring the Beehive Kiln Mod

Vintage Story Desert Life is a desert-themed survival playthough in version 1.19, with a large list of mods to speed up the process of building and chiseling. While our builds will all (or at least mostly) be in the desert, we are not restricted to hot and arid climates for the purposes of gathering materials and resources.
This series exists as a series of VODs, as well, but for people who prefer their videos in a more manageable length, the VODs will be cut into these shorter episodes and released throughout the week after each livestream, provided that there is enough desire for this format.

Haha, I hadn't thought about pumpkins' horticultural classification, but given that they're a part of a plant that grows specifically to produce seeds, it makes sense to me! I looked it up, and apparently they're technically berries?!?! Weird!

@Kurazarrh the berry classification is weird but some fruits you think are berries technically aren't berries either so it makes sense that it's weird that a pumpkin can be called a berry. And of course is mistaken as a veggie but is definitely a fruit

@@MzPinKyUknoW Yeah, I do know the main difference between a true fruit and true vegetable is whether we eat the plant itself, or just something the plant produces.
Though given that some can also be dried and used as a grain, I think the culinary distinction of any particular food is the one that tends to matter most!

I don't know if you've actually made your Langstroth Hive yet, but a recent update to the mod changed the recipe on the waxed boards to 1 wax for 4 boards instead of 1:1.

​@@Kurazarrhhey speaking of mods and updating... how do you go about it, I ask because I've noticed the mod manager doesn't have any "keep up to date" feature... do you literally just go down the list searching for each mod to see if they have an update?

I got the ModsUpdater from the mods website and it works great for keeping mods up to date, very easy to set up and use so I can recommend

@@Kurazarrh I use the ModsUpdater from the mod site, it has been working perfectly for me so I recommend instead of manually updating every mod
