I’ve also heard to NOT power the winch off of the terminal block under the hood, but run wires directly to the battery. Anyone know the answer to this.
But is the terminal block not run and come off the battery? That’s the reason can am done it this way I thought as to not have to run long power wires for the winch all the way to the battery
Maybe go back to who you heard that from and ask how reliable their source is. I’m sure this is designed and engineered for this application or they would not be using it as shown.
Nice!!! I watched 3 other guys do this, and you are by far, the easiest to follow.
Thanx!!!
Awesome, thank you! Glad we could help!
@@SuperATVMedia I’ll be watching more... got a lot more cool stuff, to put on the Defender.
Thanks guys
This helped me a lot. I was struggling to figure out how to get the rocker switch harness through the firewall. Thanks!
Glad it helped!
I have the same set up as you and completed the install thanks to your video ! However , no mounting plate? I didn’t use one either.
Correct. No mounting plate is required on most Defenders.
Is there an updated install video? The kit I just ordered doesn't have the small wires to make use of the pass through for the rocker switch

@@SuperATVMedia while the eventual response is appreciated, wasn't needed. Just cut and spliced.
there is some stuff called anti seize, use it.
Thanks partner. Can't believe the dealer wants to charge $300 installation for less than an hours work.
No problem! Thanks for your support!
What year model defender was this? Also where was the contactor mounted? Thx
Thx dude!!
Glad to help!

I like ( not really) how Can Am uses 2 tiny bolts on the very bottom to hold the pull of a 4500 winch. I will be upgrading mine.
it's got four. they are tapped into the winch frame, so I don't think you will. They are in sheer, it's ok.
Where's the winch solenoid?
It’s mounted on the winch off to the side kind of.
