I'm so glad to see an uptick in appreciation to Matthew Lillard for his role in Scream and his other movies. He perfectly nails the unhinged teen and does a great job letting that leak into his persona as Stu. Watching Lillard talk about the movie, I think the idea of Stu being in love with Billy makes so much sense. He is just so disconnected from everyone and everything, but him. He doesn't seem motivated enough to be involved without Billy. Adds a nice layer of implicit characterization to Stu.

Common misconception of the ending of Scream 2. The entire campus was on lockdown, and the town being a small town, also shut down. Sidney ran on to campus as it was likely geographically closest, and ran to the auditorium, as the score was being played showing signs of life. Also, the stage WAS a trap. This is shown when Sidney initially gets on the stage and tries to exit off of the sides. Each exit to the right and left is cut off by the walls that drop down. From the seats to the stage is only accessible by the bridge that falls into the orchestral pit when Gale is shot. The Orchestral pit is wide and deep enough that you can only get to the stage by jumping across it, and Cotton who did this, almost didn’t even make the jump. The backstage access off to the left side only become accessible when Gale and Ms. Loomis comes in. Now as far ass all the effects are concerned, I think she used it to disorientate Ms. Loomis to get away.

Ok so what about a new killer going after Gale or Dewey from their past instead of yet another Sidney connection.

On top of these movies being completely iconic, it’s also the reason we have the hilarious film that is Scary Movie! The slasher movies from the late 90s and early 2000s just can’t be beat. They made me into the horror fan that I am now 🙌🏽

The only way to survive Ghostface is to leave town whenever Sidney comes into town, like the camera man on scream 2. Lol

That plot point about Maureen Prescott’s ordeal, it was such open knowledge, regarding Harvey Weinstein’s heinous crimes. Harvey Weinstein was a producer on Scream 3, Weinstein’s known diabolical pleasure from getting away with his Caligulan delights in plain sight is arguably most primely (and sickly) revealed in Scream 3, which he possibly chose to let slide in this particular film for how rarely viewed it is in comparison to its two predecessors. Yet it is for this reason that Scream 3 might just be the creepiest out of all four installments. Harvey Weinstein served as an executive producer on all four of Wes Craven's Scream movies (as well as the TV show of the same name, That Harvey Weinstein lurked over the producing credits now feels like a horrible kind of irony. “You can see the similarities in the demise of the very company that produced it,” the film’s editor, Patrick Lussier stated, ultimately I don’t think the story in “Scream 3” is appreciated as much as it should be, But The irony of “Scream 3, is that it was distributed by Dimension Films. Scream 3 was inundated by scheduling issues, studio meddling, and daily rewrites. Twisting itself around this convoluted narrative is the fact that Harvey Weinstein executive-produced the movie, sometimes they say that truth is stranger than fiction.
Dimension Films’ projects were largely overseen by Bob Weinstein, with Harvey distracted by more Oscar-friendly material over at Miramax, parallels between Harvey Weinstein and John Milton are clear, but what remains a mystery is if the Miramax head was ignorant of the similarities between himself and the fictional producer or was, far more disgustingly, boasting about his crimes to a largely uninformed public.
After all, life imitates art and vice versa.
