Props for organizing all of this. It’s easy to forget how many connections there truly are. And this doesn’t even include Stormlight
Stormlight gets insane.
My man’s dropping Cosmere bombs every 3 seconds. I had to pause it multiple times and marinate.
It's gonna get even crazier in the next few videos.
When I first saw the advertisement for A Hero for All Ages, the first thing that came to my mind was, who would enjoy it more? Vin, for how the show makers would obviously portray Elend as a stoic and suave charmer; or Elend, for when they either inaccurately make Vin hang on his arm and sob constantly, or accurately as she murders everyone and everything that shares the stage with her? I want Stormlight 5 just as much as the next fan, but if given the option between that or this piece of fanfiction, it's a hard choice.
Elend would spend the whole time watching Vin watch the show, holding herself back from murdering people for their inaccuracies.
I actually reread all of the cosmere recently using your reading order and I thought it was super interesting! I kept a piece of paper for my bookmark and would write notes when I saw connections. I ended up with 18 full bookmarks (front and back) by the end

Honestly though, I'd love to take a look at those.

Oh goodness, RoW is insane.
I seriously doubt the "talking tools" is asking after Nightblood. At best, it's asking after the Nalthian Shardblades (like Azure's) to which Nightblood is the prototype. Nightblood has more... notable features than talking. If she wanted to find Nightblood, searching after a string of mysterious murders and/or deaths would be a better strategy.
I would argue that strange deaths happen all the time, but we've only seen one sword that actually speaks. Even Azure's blade doesn't actually communicate with words, or at least not to anyone.

Anybody ever try to divide up the Adonalsium shards like the metals? 16 metals that are investiture driven. 16 god metals. Hmm, divide the gods into pairs or sub groups of four? Rattling thoughts since Dawnshard.
Brandon has said that not all shards match up in pairs like Ruin/Preservation, Devotion/Dominion.
When is part two coming out?

I think I found another Cosmere easter egg in Hero of Ages. Before Kelsier stops Vin from meeting with Hoid, Vin talks with another one of Cett's informants called Slowswift, who mentions both shades and spren. Do you know if Brandon has said anything about this guy? I would love to learn more.
Nice! Slowswift is actually based on JRR Tolkien, so it's more of a cameo than a character.
In the editions I read, he says "mistwraiths, sprites, brollins, and such." Mentioning shades and spren must have been swapped in later. Nice catch!
Hi, I’ve read some of Sanderson’s novels but I don’t understand the concept behind the Cosmere. So the Cosmere is just a bunch of Easter eggs from one book into another? And how can you tell one character is Hoid, since he is using a different name? Thanks for the video!
While it's true that the cosmere connections started out as only easter eggs, as time goes on they become more and more important. By the time we get to later Stormlight books you have characters from Warbreaker and Mistborn significantly affecting the plot. Apparently Mistborn Era 4 is going to be a space opera involving major conflicts between the civilizations of Scadrial and Roshar.
As for spotting Hoid, usually you can recognize him by his white hair and sharp, angular chin. Even so, there are some appearances, like with the terrismen in Well of Ascension, where there's no real way for a normal reader to spot him themselves. In those cases we have interviews with Brandon where he said that Hoid was there

The Cosmere is the dwarf galaxy where all of Sanderson's adult fiction takes place. So it's not just easter eggs, but actual connections between stories on different worlds. Make sense?
