It's actually inferred that the codes for materialization are automatically generated, as well as for virtualization, as William has no problem going to Lyoko. My guess is that when the Scan function is called, it uses the DNA of the subject as a 'hash' cipher key for materialization codes (as the DNA is perfectly unique to that individual, and we know DNA is a key part of the process for materialization due to Odd's fucking rat of a dog) and also for generating the virtual avatar
There's a couple of caveats regarding the return to the past function. First, anyone who's killed by X.A.N.A. will remain dead. Second, the supercomputer (and by extension X.A.N.A.) increases in power with each trip back in time. For example, it took several RTTPs for X.A.N.A. to be able to possess humans.
Also, towards the end, it could materialize monsters and itself (a spectral ghost) into the physical world, and even left Lyoko.

No. He almost did, but he was only mostly dead. Mostly dead is slightly alive.
Didn't only happen around season 2 though, X.A.N.A.'s power remain the same in S1. That and its ability to learn and adapt makes it more harder to deal with.

Man I remember watching code loyko on Cartoon network during the city era on the miguzi block special as a little kid growing up, this makes me glad that they're still fans of this series. ☺️

Now this is another contingency plan I’ve been waiting for. Code Lyoko is such an awesome show.
Batman should also plan for a confrontation with those who are possessed by XANA. He should also be on guard in case XANA attempts to control him.

If lore of CL is to be respected, not even Super Man would be able to fight off being possessed by XANA. The only way to build resistance is to digitalize oneself, which I believe something regarding how the body is deconstructed and reconstructed over digitalization causes the brain, which is essentially the master computer that our operating system we call our personalities runs on, responds to being possessed. Your "Software" for lack of better words stays the same, but your hardware, your body, flesh suit, etc, comes back rebuilt, thus your brain is differently built too, which I would believe is what is responsible for the resistance to XANA's possession. Those who go to the virtual world do not have the same brain structure and neural patterns as those who have not. They're effectively "Special" after the fact.
@D4Skewer interesting. Something to consider. It's definitely possible. My only question in regard to this theory is why XANA's last specter possessed William? He had gone through the whole process and had way more Lyoko experience than Jeremy.

@@JaydenKai13As I recall William only had slightly more experience as Jeremy did virtualize once as to be added to the RTTP exception list and William was specifically attacked by the Schiphizoa which is more invasive than Spector based Xabafication.

Also, Batman giving props to the Lyoko warriors is nice. Not counting the simulated stabbing, blasting, crushing, and slicing of their avatars, all of those kids came uncomfortablely close to dying several times in the real world before returning to the past; I can only imagine it takes a lot to be a normal person just going about your day like nothing happened after that.

Well I mean, it would make sense that you would have immunity to time-rewinding obliviation if you've _literally traveled through time,_ after all... "Digital Doctor" even used it as a plot point, the Doctor, Amy, and Rory were tipped off that something Timey-Wimey had happened because Amy repeated a sentence she had just said. (also, the RTTP is actually Gallifreyan tech known as a Temporal Perception Field, it doesn't _actually_ rewind time - hence why it can't undo deaths - just rearranges matter to make people _think_ time had been rewound)
You would think that Batman would consider asking/Assigning Cyborg to watch the Lyoko warriors. His mother box technology is on par with Xana

@@darkblade8205 I don't think so. I think that he might be able to resist based on the fact that all Jeremie needs to do is physically fight against Xana on Lyoko, or be virtualized. There is likely some kind of key that is added to the individual during the process that he might be able to generate
The Mother Box is from Apokolips and is far more advanced than anything on Earth. I doubt even Xana could compete with that.

Did it have retcons... yes.
But it was a great show worthy of rewatching.
Years ago, I even wrote a very lengthy fanfiction acting as a sequel to the original series. It introduced XANA's original personality, Omni, who was Hopper's loyal assistant and almost son. Aelita would see him as her brother. This was before the second personality of XANA came to be.
In the last part of the story, the group had phones that could give them their Lyoko forms and powers after XANA turned real world appliances into towers to launch attacks with.
Would they morph like power rangers?

Technically, I don't think Rangers actually "morph." I believe morphing is actual shape shifting. Rangers just put on a ridiculous costume.

Strengths: Unparalleled physical strength, master swordsman, and powerful magical abilities including Supernova and Heartless Angel, the latter of which could grant him victory with almost complete assurance, and an array of defensive magics, including healing spells which can enable him to recover from any wound. To add to them, he is also capable of casting illusions on his adversaries. Most terrifying, however, is his manipulative prowess. Despite possessing a rather large ego, Sephiroth is nothing if not observant and smart. He is more than capable of putting his adversaries in tight spots, and perhaps turning them against each other. He also learns from his mistakes, and should things get serious, will not hesitate to go all out if he's fully assured that otherwise, he'll lose (his tactics in the Remake are a sign of it). And while he has a tendancy to enjoy inflicting pain on others, which might provide an opening, this habit is mostly reserved for his archenemy, Cloud Strife, who humiliated Sephiroth after the latter's decent into madness, and creating a mutual hatred between the two. An even more daunting capability possessed by Sephiroth is his ability to transform into beings of even greater power. His Winged form sprouts a single black angel wing over his right shoulder, and while it does nothing in and of itself, it serves as a warning to his opposition that he is beginning to take the fight more seriously. Should he see it necessary, he can transform into two more forms. His Bizzarro form is a demonic appearance he takes on that serves as the last step towards his ultimate form: Sepher Sephiroth. While in this angelic form, Sephiroth's power is at it's peak, and he has become nearly invincible. While his magic attacks are all formidable, his Heartless Angel attack in particular, as mentioned before, is the most threatening. It completely saps Sephiroth's targets of all their strength and endurance, leaving them completely at his mercy.
Weaknesses: His ego. While he is manipulative, Sephiroth also holds a large god complex, believing himself to be the rightful ruler of the planet, he is almost completely convinced that nothing can stop him. That alone can provide a few crucial moments of attack. The need for utilizing them to their fullest cannot be overstated. Especially when he starts taking the fight seriously. Anti-magic devices would be needed, and would need to be employed in large numbers to mitigate Sephiroth's advantages offered by them and his intellect, which no doubt would enable him to realize the basis for my plan of attack, and thus go all-out in destroying them, thus giving him a decisive advantage.

The problem with XANA is that every single time the “Return to the Past” function is activated the AI remembers its failures. I'm surprised that Batman didn't include Cyborg help, as he can help with the Hacking. As well what would The Justice League Villains might do with XANA. Imagine Waller and General Lane could do if they manage to control XANA, or Brainiac, he would somehow be able to hack it and control it to his will.
Given that XANA can possess both machines and humans, I think Batman didn't want to take the risk of Cyborg getting possessed.

Imagine that crossover. I can’t even begin to imagine how cool it would be to see Batman enter Lyoko. I’d say that the plot of the crossover would be XANA attempting to acquire the Source Code of Brother Eye so that he could possibly gain the ability to create Omacs. Hell, that could possibly lead to a crossover with the entire Justice League due to XANA possibly joining forces with Brainiac.

@@ericsanders9847 It's been a Long While since I watched the Original Show but I'll defer to Brainiac on the Surface for most Canons since he achieves Space Flight and essentially either Digitizes Planets or Takes their Greatest Cities for his 'Bottleing' or both.
XANA needs the Time Resets to grow Stronger slowly but surely but before the series ended they did stop him before XANA ventured into Autonomous Robot armies made in Siberia as the last danger he posed.
Brainiac probably advanced quicker than XANA in....lets call it Tech Innovation? I guess?

Batman would do what Jermey did. Jermey created a computer virus in the hopes that it would deal with Xana so his friends wouldn't have to risk their lives. But the computer virus got out of hand quickly and was threatening to destabilize all of Lyoko. Batman would make a much better virus that would ether put the kids in a coma or keep them from returning to their bodies.

Canonically, XANA had its replicas all over the network wiped out and he was no longer solely tied to Hopper’s Super Computer after the Keys to Lyoko were stolen off Aelita. (Since XANA may not have been able to take Franz’s Keys?)
When Hopper made the ultimate sacrifice to power the program to wipe XANA, there was effectively no where else to go. XANA was wiped.
That said, given how it often goes that whatever is put out on the internet is there forever, who’s to say XANA could not find a way to roar back to life after having itself on practically every super computer on Earth?

I don't think people really understand the implications of season 4 of code lyoko. XANA managed to hijack military supercomputers, compromising military operations globally, and he was ready to invade the world from Siberia. By the time season 4 rolled around, Xana was so immensely powerful that we never saw the full scope of it, every attack was a small fraction of his power, the rest dedicated to possessing and appropriating military personnel and machinery

Batman: People might wonder how I remember all these returns to the past. Well, when your superhero contacts include time travelers and other supernatural beings, you figure some things out.
I think the more appropriate answer is "Because I'm Batman".
There are a couple issues that I see Batman failing to take into account with his contingency, namely that the Return to the Past function that the Lyoko Warriors used to rely on to undo the damage XANA caused turned out to be a double-edged sword. First and foremost, it’s not perfect. Death is permanent, and if someone dies as a result of XANA’s attacks, not even Return to the Past can revive them. Second, and more problematic, every time Return to the Past is used, XANA grows more powerful, and its influence spreads. Through multiple uses of Return to the Past, XANA evolved from primarily relying on subverting digital systems to affecting the physical world, developing its ability to possess people as a result, and even gaining the capability to bring its digital soldiers into physical reality, which was why, after they figured it out, the Lyoko Warriors switched strategies to do their best to rely on Return to the Past as little as possible.

Initially yes, but after some time passed and knowledge was come upon, Aelita eventually was given capability to no longer be life linked to the Super Computer being active or shut down.
I won’t spoil how in the event new generations come to watch it that don’t know, but eventually Aelita no longer has this critical flaw after a certain event.
Well aileta is able to come to our world later on in the show. Not sure how, I miss that part when the show was in cartoon network.
A surprise to be sure but a welcomed one. I haven't seen Code Lyoko in years and XANA is always one of my favorite villains.
Nice to hear that Batman will have a hard time recreating the means to enter Lyoko himself, it is rare he will admit something like that. I also like how he was worried about the Lyoko warriors and plans on making sure they get physical and mental help.
Two things to point out however with the first XANA is no longer bound to the Super Computer that holds Lyoko. It managed to break free and at one point even destroyed Lyoko which had to be rebuilt. so the weakness of the Super Computer, even if Batman didn't wish to destroy it to prevent paradoxes, isn't feasible. the second Return to the Past now has the added effect of making XANA stronger, which is how he was able to possess humans in the first place. this forced the warriors to use it sparingly in the utmost important matters. not to mention the limitations of the Return to the Past as it doesn't bring someone back if they had died.
I can imagine in some dark universe Batman loses the Batfamily to XANA and tries to save the Bat family by returning to the past. But Batman ends up stuck in a time loop where no matter what Batman does he ends up losing the Batfamily to XANA one day its a minor accident, the next Superman controlled by XANA starts tearing his way through the planet taking out the JL forcing Batman to return to the past to fix it. This starts a loop and the story closes with XANA growing more and more powerful while a grief stricken Batman keeps going back into the past making things worst for himself and the universe.

If code lyoko was made today we'd have already been killed by AI. It was made exactly when it needed to be, as all things are.
Good news: the show is in the works of coming back. They plan on continuing after the lady episode.
