if my mental health and my wallet have to suffer.. why not my gut, too? I seriously cant get enough of this dude. how can he be so entertaining that early in the morning? how can he be so determined, optimistic, and had working despite all the odds. truly just incredible, an inspiration, thank you Luke.
Dang Luke. I didn't realize just how far You've come , in such a short time. I subscribed the 1st time I watched this video, and I always look forward to seeing more from You. Thanks for Your positive attitude. It really is infectious 😅
Really nice boat young man. I have been a medium/heavy diesel truck fleet mechanic for over 40 years and had not heard of Lugger diesel until now. I did some checking and found them to be based on John Deere design and produced by Northern Lights company. I heard those engines can last upwards of 80,000 hours if properly maintained. I grew up boating in the LBI Barnegat area. However about 35 years ago I discovered the Chesapeake (eastern shore) and fell in love with the Chesapeake. I love seeing the waterman “deadrise” work boats with “screaming jimmies” 6L71 and 8V92 s. I just discovered your channel. Keep up the great job. Great work ethic also.
The Webo is a beast of a boat. I frequently fish around the marina it used to be docked out. That thing was always out working and never seemed to have any issues. Best of luck with it
Just became a member and fan. This video’s about 8 months old as I view it. Lived on the eastern shore for a bit but back on Cape Cod as I retire. Still working 40 hr week @ 72. Love your channel. You remind me of my younger self. It seems you stumbled on a good boat. The prior owners seemed to have kept her healthy which speaks well of them. You’ll have years of good use from this craft. Enjoy the ride..!
I live on Barnegat Bay, and I pass that little marina where you picked up your boat hundreds of times on my way out of Barnegat Inlet. I’ve never seen that boat under water, so you’re probably pretty safe. Took that wave coming out of the inlet pretty well, too. Good luck, and I’m looking forward to the next installment.
That boat use to be an old oyter boat that towed dredges off sides and then converted to a net fishing boat that caught bunker for De bay crabbers...Originally owed by an older guy and was originally named Louie and Danny after his sons. Once he retired it was sold and used as a charter fishing boat with a 6 pk license
I would always tell me there is no fun in being safe. Especially to my dispatchers. Then I would follow it up with “hope it stays quiet”. If you know…. You know.
Wow Luke, love the boat; what a sturdy craft. I loved your comment about the warranty, it lasts until I can’t see it from my house 😂, Looking forward to more of the story. Congratulations on your engagement. 🎉
Dude I really hope you continue this!! This is awesome!! Your comedic style is so natural and funny and entertaining!! Hahaha so sick man hope you keep this up and I hope this RUclips channel blows up!!
So many great quotes in this video… hard to rank my favorite but I’m going with “I was tired of everything going too smoothly so I thought I’d double down”. Haha! I grew up in Arnold, MD, lived in South Jersey for a while… absolutely LOVE CRABS 🦀. Fun to see familiar territory. You’re a natural in front of the camera. Keep it going man! That's looks like a keeper. I've owned a one off wooden lobster boat for 16 years. I've made that initial voyage filled with self doubt. But I wouldn't have change a thing. Best move of my life. I'm 67 years old and I can't wait for fishing season to open up in May. Jonah crab and lobsters are what I fish for.
First time watching your channel. I enjoy boat rescue stuff so that why I stopped in. I must say…love your honest perspective on yourself, your stuff and your decision! Entertaining so far! Let’s watch another one!!!!
Good luck with your new ride! I have a 43' Torres commercial boat with a Lugger 6140 700 hp that has 22000 hours on it great motors all day every day runners.
Congratulations. Looks like you are having a great time. Yes, everything is twice as expensive as you plan for on a boat. Rest assured: Lugger is one of the most bullet proof engines you can find. As your fiancé would say: “Be Safe”
Those valves and that reservoir look to be your Hynautic control system, likely steering and possibly your throttle/reduction gear if they're not cable. Should be indicators on that sight glass for the antifreeze level and you'll want to pressurize it to charge the system.

the more I watch Luke's videos, the more i love this dude. I hope one day I can make it to the crab stand, bit of a drive from Indiana but I hear the crab is pretty decent
I cant believe how far you've come in such a short time. I subscribed the 1st time I watched this, because Your positive attitude and entertaining personality is infectious! Thanks
Lugger engines are exceptionally durable. To me, with 19K hours, you've still got a good amount of life left in that engine if you do the maintenance and run her regularly.
I really enjoyed your video. You are one funny young man! I laughed my butt off! You have a great " go get-em " rock steady attitude. You will have fun and should go far in life. Can't wait to see the 2nd leg of the trip. God Bless....
We did almost the same thing back in 72 From Cape May to Barnegat inlet in a 28 Ft Chris Craft , Gas was if i remember 65 cents at the dock, Ah the good ol days !
That’s awesome! I hope she works out well for you. And congratulations on your engagement! We bought a 35’ Viking sport fish in Toms River a number of years ago and took the same route home. The 8ft ocean waves were breaking over the top of the fly bridge! It was scary insane! The boat is solid and held up to the pounding very well. Can’t say the same for my body! 😂 At least we know she’ll hold up to whatever the Chesapeake will throw out there.
@@fvsoutherngirl Thanks! It’s now at our neighbors dock (he bought it) and we picked up a 43ft Post in Norfolk a few years ago! We’ve done a lot of restoring her to her original glory. Lots of gorgeous wood inside and teak in the cockpit. She is seriously sweet! Great for longer cruises. 💞 We’re on the Magothy- not far from you. Can’t wait for boating season! I shudder watching the conditions you go out in. But I guess 35 years ago I was sailing in frostbite regattas… ☺️
What a trip man. I actually just did a delivery on a sailboat I bought in Brick, Nj. Brought her down to Cape May took 18 hours. Awesome video bro. Good luck with everything

A great video and to be getting engaged and buying a boat at the same time is wise. Why, because you now have a full time partner who normally won’t argue and the boat is a new enjoyment and object about the money being spent. The boat is the new wife who when treated properly won’t argue but she will spend your money without blinking an eye (boat = bring out another thousand). Enjoy your many hours on the water and we look forward to the sharing of those experiences 😄😄 I have had a 33ft sailing boat for 3yrs now and use it twice a week and have done over 3000nm during that time, working as a consultant and enjoying life as a young 76yr old guy 👍⛵️🥃
