Another fun episode! It’s heartening seeing someone as young as Captain Luke so hard working and dedicated. Can’t help but route for him. Be sure to check out his social media. He’s got great commentary and humor on his content.
Luke! You are da man! I wish that my 75 year old bones, and Boomer mind, could bring me the adventures that you create for yourself. All hail to you. Keep up the good work.
So honored to watch Luke grow...his shows hold reality....a minute of strobing, while watching a pot enter the water, is overkill...now... try comment me with strobing, and enter the word your cell/device gives you...and hit enter... 🍻🇨🇦🍻
Had Katsumoto lived on the Chesapeake, he would have said, " you can spend your entire life looking for the perfect crab, and it would not have been a life spent in vain."
Ive only ever done it recreationally, and we use completely different hardware, but there is somethin kinda special when you get a bunch of cousins or mates in the swing of things and get to haulin crab. Its a vibe. also, freshness is key, Im very spoilt in that 95% of the crab ive ever eaten has been caught right then. restaurant or supermarket stuff just isnt as good, hands down. go find a local dude and put your money in his palm. you will not regret it. or just go get em yourself. biggest crab I ever caught was in shin deep water with a peice of bent fencing wire.
Oh hell yah. I just got the crab punisher in the water finally last labor day 2023 but she is a modified day sailor I salvaged off the shores of the Monocacy so very little room for the traps and I put them in the dingy. I would absolutely love to spend a day on miss Paula. @@CrabdadCJ
Blair, Hard oil, thats a good one. I assume that you have never seen a ships bilge before.😂 More like recycled tires used by the state for artificial reef construction to help the oyster industry.
Well if it ain't hard oil and I'm pretty sure it's not tires because it breaks apart easily, then who knows what it is. Probably seen 30 pieces over the years. I'll have to save some and have it analyzed.
Thats a steam tank that kills a lot of the alge growth so they can keep them a little cleaner before having to pressure wash them all at the end of each season.
Are you guys restricted to fishing certain areas? 🤔 like one boat throws this area and you can throw there? Or is it first come first serve type thing?
That's a million dollar question. Alot of people don't like to get females because they think it hurts the population even though we've proven it's not true. They don't typically get as big and most people like big crabs. Not truly sure why.

The shot going down the pier could be sold as a still shot! It’s beautiful
Thanks so much! I’m slowly working on selling prints and a book with all stills related to Crabbers.

Thanks to Mamas for having them on the line for this! Best tip, stay in school. Wise captains, listen up ya all.
Very cool, love the comedic value the most. It’s funny how crabbers are all like family. They all know each other and good competition
Some days have it some don’t. This one had a lot.

Getting better every time! Do you think it's worth throwing a trap off my dock yet or is it still too early? I'm near Harrington Harbor South.
Yeah crabs should be moving in with this warm weather.
Bravo! Great story.
Thank you for the kind words!

J... at about the 10:30 mark it was showing you guys dipping the pots in something, looked almost like it was steaming. What were you doing?
We use hot water to clean the pots.
I would pay to go crabbing !!
We are working on a Crabbers Cruise. Keep an eye out for details.
@@CrabdadCJ I want in !!! Me and my sisters 👯♀️. Also want to go to Harris for oysters and beer

CJ i believe that black rubber substance is actually hard oil from the bilges of ships
Interesting. I've seen lots of it and never knew what it was.

@@CrabdadCJ Sounds like graphite.
It’d definitely be cool to have it analyzed.
Is this the boat you bought on Facebook??
These guys should check out Dutch harbor crabbing
It sounds like fun.
Love you videos. I crab in Beaufort n,c,
Are you commercial?
I hear you have some real reputable and honest lawyers in that area 😂
I noticed o on the boat your crew was putting the pot into some type of tank. Can you tell me more about it. Thanks
Thats a steam tank that kills a lot of the alge growth so they can keep them a little cleaner before having to pressure wash them all at the end of each season.
I’m new to this and I wanted to know why you dip the cage before you toss it back
It helps to keep the pots clean
How do get u at the break of dawn? I love crabbing 🎉 esp the eating side !!! Born and bred in Baltimore
Eating is the best part.
Are you guys restricted to fishing certain areas? 🤔 like one boat throws this area and you can throw there? Or is it first come first serve type thing?
We have to be in the Chesapeake Bay to fish pots but there are not set areas. It's first come first serve.
Very cool thanks for the reply 👍🏽
how the harvest looking this year?
Slow so far. Need it to warm up. Survey hasn't come out yet.
Wht are yal Dippin the pots in after u dump crabbs?
Hot water.
@@CrabdadCJ to kill any growth on them?
@@codybenton4111 yeah helps keep it knocked down.
You guys should get some super soakers and spray each other with water😅
We have thought about it.
Working while wet always sounds better than it ends up being.@@CrabdadCJ
Do watermen always smell like fish? I’d have lemon juice in a spray bottle to greet my husband if he did this for work 😂
Check out episode 10… gotta build up Nose Deafness.
It's more a combination of Creek water, Shrimp heads and Diesel fumes for my wife. That's the smell of money.
Looks like they are digging out the for evermore , How did a 30 year experienced Chesapeake pilot run that ship aground
It's a crazy deal. They say it's gonna be a while.
I'd enjoy trying crabbing out!. My thing is.. Why do people not prefer female crabs an why do they cost less?.🧐🤔
That's a million dollar question. Alot of people don't like to get females because they think it hurts the population even though we've proven it's not true. They don't typically get as big and most people like big crabs. Not truly sure why.
excellent question.
From what I've been told... Take them later on in the season as they only breed one time? Where im at if they are big girthy enough.....
What is the average age of a keeper crab ?
I think the science says they take 2 years from egg to 5 inches
Luke just seen you on FOX NEWS
Well done. Just the amount of jump cuts... was too much
Appreciate the Comment. Always trying to find what makes the best video.
Are there any women crabbers
These dudes are sooo annoying.
Can't win em all.
