Today I had my son Dominick help me at the shop build some steps and I thought it would be a perfect time to teach you guys at home how to build some super easy steps that will or for all types of applications. - Хобби
This video is so awesome in so many ways. First of all, those are some solid steps. I think I'll make them for my trailer. Secondly, your kid is ridiculously cute and is definitely the star of the show. And lastly, as a father of two toddlers myself, you've inspired me to be a better father. Normally, when I work on projects I don't allow my kids to be anywhere near me for fear that they'll grab a tool and hurt themselves or accidentally step on a nail. However, I saw noticed that you had an extremely tidy, well-organized workspace with only the essential tools you needed to use with you. And you've clearly taught your son not to touch that nail gun or chop saw. Also, whenever I film any tutorial video I never have my kids in it because it's way too distracting for me and it's too hard to watch them while giving instructions on a video. But you showed me that it's totally possible to film tutorial videos with toddlers and, in fact, it could be a lot of fun and you showed me how to let me kids hang out with me while I work on projects. Thanks for being a great dad and thanks for the quality video!
How adorable, you're a lucky man. I wish I was a father.
Thank you for your kind words, I appreciate it.
Best tutorial EVER, gonna have the penguin in my head when I get to build the awesome steps.
Your illustration and explanation made it very easy to understand. I made these steps in 35 minutes. Thanks!
Your sons are blessed for having you as father.
and what you are doing is really commendably.
Hey thanks 😊 I really appreciate you saying that!
Great job 👏
Thank you very much for a very simple set of stairs. Easy to build and solid under foot. Exactly what we needed for our tiny house. Looks even better than I expected. Thanks again.
You made my next steps/stairs project go much faster. thanks for making this
Best video ever. So darn cute and informative. My dad mostly asked me to go indoors for fear a girl would hurt herself but I stuck there watching like a hawk and wanting to get the tools of his hands and participate. He let me help sometimes. Today, I am a diy’er and even show my dad a thing or two. Daddy’s and curious kids dream right here on this video. Awesome helper without wasting time or overbearing. This kid will grow to be a master woodworker.
Soooo much easier than cutting/ calculating stringers. THANK YOU!!
THIS WAS INCREDIBLY HELPFUL!!! THANK YOU!
Thank you kind of made sense will have to watch it few more times , make sure you u show your son how he was when he was little as I see this is 5 yrs old Thank Ya
The best tiny house staircase design!!!
Thank you 🙏
Thank you for sharing Bob, because i plan to build one for my Tiny House, so now i know what to do.
He said, " I don't wanna go makes some steps". LOL! Love this video man.
Never work with children or animals, they always upstage you lol. Dom is adorable. Very informative video. A different way to make stairs then I've seen. Seems very secure. Thanks Bob.
Haha, your son is so cute, i m kind of miss him behind the scene.
Nice, easy, simple , thank you for the building idea. Looooooooove the little boy, (God bless)
Good job your a very patient man. And nice simple steps. Good tutorial.
Thank you! I always enjoy working with my son and teaching him any way I can.
i'm so glad i saw this! i just built a bed loft for my CA King and my girlfriend is a big wimp about my Tarzan rope, so I was just about to order a LaZ Boy Stair Glide when i saw your cute stair idea. Now I know what to do with all this old plywood from my tank builds! THANX!
Hey Benjamin I’m so glad you were inspired by my video! Let me know if you have any questions, just leave them in the comments and I’ll be sure to answer them!
oh my gosh, this is so cute... also, thank you for the tutorial :)
I've used your technique to build some stairs to the trampoline we have for the kids in the backyard and it turned out great! Thanks for the great video.
That’s so awesome! Glad it worked out!
Thanks so much for this information
My mom ask me about making her a couple of steps for her shed and this seems to be the easiest and quickest.
I believe this would be double for even!!!!👐🏾 Now I just need a tiny house or deck to use with them. I vote for the tiny house!!!!!🏡
Your son is adorable. Now much into building at this time. 😁
Bob Clarizio - The Tiny House Builder: Luke T plugged the Tiny House Event you are having in Chi-Town on his vlog today!!👐🏾👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
i like the way u explain the details bud
waow just nails no screws? I love the way your keeping it so simple! I like the nail gun too~
I like using the galvanized ring-shank nails for building deck projects and our tiny houses because they can be extremely difficult to pull out and ensure a tight fastener point
What kind of gun is it?
Thank you. Need to build some steps and this will work for me.
You’re very welcome! Thank you for watching
Great video, thanks! Appreciate it!
@4:00 Easy math that even I can follow! 😀
Your son is adorable…
Complicated steps made easy nice 👌 job Thanks by the way like your watch what is it?
Hey thanks ! It’s a luminox
@@BobClarizio Thanks for answering back 🤝
Great video, you made feel like i can build this! but of course i can't, even then i will like to know about the tools: that thing shooting nails and if you can recommend a more affordable saw for casual jobs around the house. Thanks!.
Aww thank you!
Get a cheap circular saw. You can get a base model skil of craftsman for less than $50. And it should last you years. Get a corded model. As far as the nail gun goes, if you’re just doing DIY, get a drill kit. On the cheaper end you can go with kobalt or Ryobi, but if you spend a little extra and get a base set Milwaukee or dewalt they will last you forever. I have a set of dewalt XR drills that I’ve had for a while. My dad still had his dewalt drills that he bought when I was probably 6. I’m 26 now. They still work. And although he’s bought new dewalts since his old ones never let him down. He also still has a corded Milwaukee circular saw from 2001 that still runs like a champ. Btw he owns a marina on a lake so he’s constantly using them. I used to buy cheap tools. But I’ve learned that if you spend a little bit more and get decent tools (not top of the line but not cheap) they will last you at least a decade.
@@brianprowse2543 Thank you!
Great job! This is the design I want to create for my tiny house. What kind of wood did you use, plywood? How much did you need for the whole staircase? Thank you!
I used all common pine
OK. Veri informative. So how would you attach handrails for balance.
your workshop is the size of an aircraft hangar
could i use 1x8 boxes 4 stairs for a therapy stairs for a 6 yr old if so should i use 2x4 tread just trying to make it liter for home use i also need to think of a small platform for the top thanks love the son interaction
Honestly for something like that I would make it out of 3/4” thick materials
Hey dude found your channel , great video 👍
its obvious who the star of the show is hahaha
Haha I know right?!?
Great video! Your son stole the show! Could you tell what size nails you used?
Aww man thank you 🙏 i used 16 penny nails
@@BobClarizio Thanks for your reply. Your video is very helpful. This will be a good project to do with my son for his new tiny house.
God bless!
I appreciate your following and support very much 🙏
Using this style to make 2 steps up to our hot tub instead of the ugly plastic ones 😂
That's what happens when engineers get nervous
Bridge collapse
do you have the dimensions written down somewhere for these? they are perfect for my RV for my blind dog
Ever thought about using thick plywood for the treads
Yea it just depends what the use is going to be for
@@BobClarizio Cool thanks for the shout back, wish my son was still that young enjoy him, to much fun
Yea we have a lot of fun
😍😍😍😍😍
Thanks 😊 i appreciate it and agree!
All I want to do now is.........
"WALK LIKE A PENGUIN, WALK LIKE A PENGUIN"
🙋🏽♀️ Me too! Lol
😂
i guess we can call you, bob the builder
😂
great but why not make the plate one piece.
The unsupported overhang of the top step looks awfully dangerous. It seems like it would be easy for that board or the nails to fail.
I think I would adjust the bases to allow the top tread boards to be as well supported as the first two steps.
Otherwise great idea for many of us, thanks.
I was wondering if he was going to do something about that... I still really appreciate this video as I'm hoping some temporary steps built in the same style will allow me to pass inspection next week. Thanks for sharing.
Your kids adorable. He seems FULLY vaccinated. What might clear some of that gunk out of his brain is if you learn that penguin song with him.
Lol
Woodglut has a very large project base.
30 feet worth a steps wow
😂 so many steps
His son is cute but, I can see how this would get a little hard to stay focused 😂
Is it a instruktion video or a kiddey show….
Ye shouldhave made LEGO steps.
Ye would have had more fun 😉😉
Alot of work .vrs
3 stringers / kickboard/ steps
🤔?
I agree but for some that is more complicated
@@BobClarizio making them out of Lego ?
Ha
I cringed every time you had your back to Dom, while he was by the saw! But, thanks for the lesson.
Bob Clarizio - The Tiny House Builder Thank you for being a decent human being, and not getting angry at me for expressing my concerns!
How to build for beginners tiny home with no loft. I'll check vids on your channel
Need a babysitter 😨😨👎
No way he loves hanging out at the shop with me
Bob Clarizio Cool 👍🏿 he was the star of the show...I’ll use your ideas on my shed...I will only do two steps the height is roughly 16”....excuse me I gotta go potty...
Why do people think everyone wants to see there annoying kids in a video?
That’s an interesting thing to say
SOMETIMES HE GETS NERVIOUS and cant spell nervous
😆 good call
ten inches tread or ten feet ??🤣
Best tutorial EVER, gonna have the penguin in my head when I get to build the awesome steps.
The best tiny house staircase design!!!
Thanks
