When does your tutorial come on I’m a new comer n absolutely love your lessons, I’m a well advanced guitar player but I love learning new stuff n I play a lot of quartet styles but trying to incorporate contemporary gospel. Respond when you have a chance cuz I love how you break everything down
man i just discovered your channel and u must be the best youtube teacher there is. what an amazing channel, ty for your videos! keep it up, cheers from Portugal
Thanks man - I’m working to learn it but just can’t get it down. Seems like it should be simple. So funky. Such a great way to rhythmically end the beautiful chordal melody. Can’t wait!!
Bro I love all your videos been trying to learn recently. I you do a lot of really cool things but could you maybe go into even more depth for beginners? Thanks!
Hey Eugene I just across your video. And man what a great tone. What type of guitar and amplifier you're using. Is that a peerless guitar. Will definitely subscribe to your channel. Great job on the neo soul jazz tone.🎸🎼🎵👍
I’m trying to play the lick in 0:17 but I can’t get it... :( can you tell me the scale or break it down please????? Thanks! By the way...amazing channel!
CaberraTV Hi Eugene! At the end, I decreased the speed of the video and and I learned by my own. Was great! Hey! You are a superb trainer! If you would have a method, definitely I would go for it and buy it and I’m sure I wouldn’t be the only one. Congrats for the fantastic work!
Sounds like a gentle scoop in the high-mids, a nice warm long-tail reverb and an extremely subtle touch of valve drive. And a perfectly tuned guitar. Can't speak for the pickups.
You definitely can. If you're looking for this sound the amp is most important so just use whatever guitar you would like. Having a hollowbody with thicket strings running through a solid state will most likely give you the more "true" neo soul/jazz sound however it's marginal in my opinion. I've even played this style on a guitar with actives before and it sounded fine to me.
I wouldn't say so because both notes are involved in the aeolian scale. The minor9 chord is just more "modern" Neo-soul sounding in comparison to a traditional minor7 chord.
2:25 every time you're bending looks like you're touching your chest like "damn this chord hits me hard in the feels" least that's what it does to me ahaha
caleb crosby adainoo You can do it on any guitar. Another way is to bend the guitar neck towards your body after playing a chord. It adds a vibrato sound using the guitar body, instead of using your fingers while fretting the chord.
This is great. Just one major flaw. You show how to play a chord before bursting out a chord pattern without explaining that. Teach us the chord patterns at the same time.
This dude literally made love to his guitar in the beginning of this video.
lmao
Great playing. You also need to make a tutorial on guitar faces.
for sure :)
😂😂 this cracked me up 😂

Thanks man - I’m working to learn it but just can’t get it down. Seems like it should be simple. So funky. Such a great way to rhythmically end the beautiful chordal melody. Can’t wait!!
I really need a D’Angelico! I played a DC Premier only once and I have not been able to forget about it
they are great for neo soul
Awesome! Can you make a Video on connecting these Chords with Lines like in your Intro? Maybe Start a Series on this Stuff :P

Any songs for a beginner to neo soul/ gospel player to learn that sound really nice?? Thanks!!
Brooo i love this
amazing tonce man , nice job
thanks a lot
Fantastic
Yo, I’m new to the Neo soul music thing. Who are some artist you would recommend listening to, Ones centered around the guitar?
Tom Misch, Mac Demarco
I love mac demarco, but he's not even remotely neo-soul...
Hiatus Kaiyote
Mcintyre ah yes my bad, i knew demarco from beau diakowicz & rainbow fever's instagram so i thought they're all Neo-soul guitarists.
d angelo, anderson paak. , the internet, erykah badu
I love your channel bro. You're teaching the real stuff.
thank you mate

Bro I love all your videos been trying to learn recently. I you do a lot of really cool things but could you maybe go into even more depth for beginners? Thanks!
Great Idea I will do that soon :)
I love the channel, the lesson and the Mosquito song. What guitars do you have? Can you maybe make a one video or put it somewhere in description?
Wow nice to hear that. I have a vlog where I talk about my guitar. Thanks a lot for the appreciation brother.
i always like your intro. but i want to know the effect people use to play smooth neo soul.
Drew
Usually it's just some combination of reverb, delay and chorus.
nice to hear that thanks a lot
love the first licks you should make a video on how you did it
Ill be working on that
Love your videos. Can you please do a lesson on section 28-48? So funky. I’m dying to learn it.

How soon
im all jazzed up
Thats what we are going for man!
So cute, and play guitar so well ❤
i like the video its just hard for a beginner to what finger is the 'fifth'
Another great video! What are you playing when you transition to those minor chords on the higher frets?
ill be working on that thanks
Hey Eugene I just across your video. And man what a great tone. What type of guitar and amplifier you're using. Is that a peerless guitar. Will definitely subscribe to your channel. Great job on the neo soul jazz tone.🎸🎼🎵👍

How do you set up your guitar? What pickup? How much tone? What settings on the amp?
Sounds like a gentle scoop in the high-mids, a nice warm long-tail reverb and an extremely subtle touch of valve drive. And a perfectly tuned guitar. Can't speak for the pickups.
omg the cat at 0:55
my girl
Anyone know if you can play this style on like every kind of e guitar?
You definitely can. If you're looking for this sound the amp is most important so just use whatever guitar you would like. Having a hollowbody with thicket strings running through a solid state will most likely give you the more "true" neo soul/jazz sound however it's marginal in my opinion. Christian Vanshdora thanks man🙏🏼
What model is that dangelico
What’s the lick you’re playing right after the E min at 1:07 ?? Sounds so good as an embellishment (high up the neck) is that based on a triad ?
its a minor 9 chord!
But how do you know when you can actually play them? Is there any rules to when you can make a chord a minor 9 versus a minor 7?
I wouldn't say so because both notes are involved in the aeolian scale. The minor9 chord is just more "modern" Neo-soul sounding in comparison to a traditional minor7 chord.
Killer lesson man. You mention a recorded song 'like this' at 3:29 what is it?
Joelharrisonmusic A minor 11 chord, I think
That cardigan/jacket is so nice where did you get it?
nohow man.
2:25 every time you're bending looks like you're touching your chest like "damn this chord hits me hard in the feels"
least that's what it does to me ahaha
Hahah dope brother
😍🙏🏽
How do you vibrate the chord with the way you shake the guitar?
caleb crosby adainoo You can do it on any guitar. Another way is to bend the guitar neck towards your body after playing a chord. It adds a vibrato sound using the guitar body, instead of using your fingers while fretting the chord.
Make and model of guitar?
this is amazing. do you mind if i sample you in one of my songs?
n problem
0.17 that lick sounds cool can you please break it down
melodic minor it is
Dude what are the jazzy scales you use for solo lines/licks?
sounds like mostly altered scale stuff
like Altered Carbon? Or Altered Beast the game? Those are the only ones I know... :/
Sounds like he's just using the Blues and/or Minor/Aeolian as adding in a few chromatic notes here and there.
3:13
did anyone notice the cat in the beginning?
Anyone see that cat on the dresser in the beginning?
the cattt
ma girl
can i sample this?
yeah man of course :)
What is this guitar man ?
D’Angelico excel ss
This is great. Just one major flaw. You show how to play a chord before bursting out a chord pattern without explaining that. Teach us the chord patterns at the same time.
