Except newer Cummins suck! Because the newest Cummins is the same with the Duramax or the power stroke! Where they’re adding what should not be a standard feature for a full size pickup truck with a Diesel engine-Remote Start!
I am much more impressed with diesels that don't smoke. Smoke like this is not normal or cool. It means the engine is in bad need of a rebuild. People who purposely make their trucks run bad just so they "roll coal" are a joke. There is nothing more beautiful than a diesel properly pulling a load up a hill with no smoke.
i'm going to be honest. i dont have a vehicle. but i sure know quite a bit about trucks. And i know as a fact that the 24v makes alot more power than a 12v does. not sure why someone would call an improvement on the 5.9 block "gay"
I have my Dodge 4 years till this day and no problems. Besides the engine, Suspension, Chassis, Axle, Steering box. But other wise i'm still here at my house. + I bought NEW from a registered Dodge Dealership.
i most defiantly agree with you. the v8s have way more power in the higher rpms. cummins are nice for lugging around the pasture and such but mine falls flat on its face at 70. My powerstroke is great for pulling down the road.
Cummins uses a grid heater which works way better than glow plugs, can start at -20 degrees without a problem. I need to plug in my F350 King Ranch if it's near freezing or below but never plug in my Dodge.
Brings back fond memories of Millie our beloved Chrysler voyager. She’d blow lots of smoke if we got her started in the cold. She had a 2.5l vm motori engine though
@Gtbomb1 because it is a diesel, heat is a big contributor when it comes to a proper compression ignited engine. So when they are cold, the cylinders aren't cold enough to fire 100% so they run pretty rough until warmed up. Ford powerstrokes are even worse with cold starts.
Yeah that and its low on alternator fluid. And they need to grease the rear diffuser to prevent ectoplasma from leaking on to the slip yoke for the blinker.
WHAT??? Lol that's the funniest thing I have heard in a long time. Neither Dodge nor Ford nor Chevy or any other car manufacturer for that matter makes Cummins. Cummins makes Cummins!!
@boosteddiesel Actually, in the compression-ignition engine/Diesel, air in the combustion pre-chambers is compressed to the point where it is hot enough to ignite the fuel, during a cold-start, the air in the combustion pre-chambers is not hot enough to ignite the fuel, so while cold starting, which is usually a lot of cranking, that boosts the compression which in turn, heats the air to the required temperature, which in turn ignites the fuel, thus starting the engine
@gameover863 hey man the one thing witht he cummins is they dont have glow plugs tey have grid heaters so it heats up the air going into it so its not as good as gow plugs would work but its more realiable because u cant have bad glow plugs and if the glow plugs crack off u got huge problems like i did on my 6.2 gm diesel the cummins is by far the best light duty truck motor out there i love them and KEEP ON CUMMIN
@cullen9017 basically when a cummins b series is built, there are two ECM's that are installed, 1: dodge chrysler/dodge software for dodge trucks... 2: cummins software for heavy duty trucks...the chrysler/dodge software pretty much tunes down the cummins for emissions reasons...however, there are countless aftermarket ECM's available to solve that problem
Cummins power! And big rigs don't have glow plugs either. Oh yeah that's right Cummins is a big rig engine! Can your max or pstroke pull 80000 lbs down the highway? Nope I didn't think so. Although slightly different. The 5.9 is the 300 Cummins that powered 18 wheelers in the 70s and 80s. Then Dodge was like let's shoehorn this mudda fudda into a p/u. Thus the bad assery began!
this is fucking EPIC absolute EPIC and best sounding starting engin ever even SCANIA 144 V8 530 dont have so good sound at cold starting wave of turbine after engin just start up when he let of gas pedal was absolute uber sound i want Cummins 12v in my truck too
@tacodude20 commonrail is Bosch technology, it just so happens that the Bosch commonrail fuel injection system is used on the Cummins b series i 6 24 valve...also, the new Powerstroke 6.7 code named the scorpion also employs Bosch commonrail fuel injection technology
you know what, I think this video is awesome. id do the same thing if it was my truck. it isnt good for the truck to do that, no, but either is a burn out, or peeling around a corner. but its a fun way to show off. nice truck man, love the sound of the cummings. id like to see more videos of the truck.
@bigstretch100 i agree with ya after I did some checking into stuff its nuttin but fuel going out of the pipes and with my new camper I just baught the smoke is not the best thing where stain it and cost more money to clean the smoke stain.
The exhaust bearings must be fhcked in the truck also while ur in the trunk check the blinker fluid and also while your in the glove box check to see if the tail gate is closed then you should change all the spark plugs, then finally you got to take out the air filter then put it back in, prime the Carb with gas and start it
@BFD15i If he has had the truck tuned and timing advanced it would cause hard starting on them real cold days and if his 12er is anything like mine you gotta hold er half throttle to get her goin in cold cold weather I live in so Indiana and its seen some cold ass days here this year
@FordGuy100 yes true but only because they have 2 more cylinders to make up for it but where im getting at is an inline lets say a v6 vs an inline 6 both are lets say 3.0ls. the inline will have more torque do to its design. thats why semi trucks prefer the inline engine. and there are many more things that you can put on a 5.9 or 6.7 to make it more powerful than chevy or ford and your whole deal between the RAM truck and those upgrades can still be less then what you pay for a ford or chevy.
All I can say is that I will never drive a Chevy because I'm a Ram man, although if I got a better deal when it came to it, I would take a ford but the dodge is the truck for me
@cbman96 yes but this is a 12 valve which has nothing to do with a commonrail it is p-pumped..its not a vp44 or cp3(commonrail)..what im getting at is you said a i6 diesel that uses a common rail system does not use glow plugs and yes thats true but the older cummins p-pumped or vgt doesn't use glow plugs either
dodge makes it. cummins shakes it. EPA hates it.
Randomchannel Eat your hearts out environmentalists
Randomchannel I need that sticker lol
Guys bate to it
Screw the epa
Except newer Cummins suck!
Because the newest Cummins is the same with the Duramax or the power stroke! Where they’re adding what should not be a standard feature for a full size pickup truck with a Diesel engine-Remote Start!
This might be my favorite cold start video on youtube
Meanwhile in Prius-town, 20 people just had a stroke.
*yOu aRe kIlLiNg tHe eNvIrOnMeNt*
@@Jean_1999 hope all you libs choke on it!
@@Jean_1999 nah just the skeeters 🤣
A 'powerstroke'
Meanwhile in teslaville everyone had an aneurism
most epic way to start the day
When you use a half a tank of diesel on the start
i love how so many diesels start just like this :)
Mitsubishi fuso starts every time in -20 it’s just a delivery box truck but it’s easy to start
Man i love the sound of Cummins engine, most beautiful sound for a diesel engine..!!!!!!
me two
thats one way to send a smoke signal! lol
Engine is trying to wake up and the truck is like oh Shit I better wake up too😂
i love when they smoke like that, makes my day
I am much more impressed with diesels that don't smoke. Smoke like this is not normal or cool. It means the engine is in bad need of a rebuild. advanced timing and lots of fuel, makes for fun cold starts :)
nothings better than a cummins roaring! Idle speed got a nice ring to it! i like this rough diesel sound
i love ford but every time i see a "94 dodge ram cummins i start loving it more great video keep it coming!
I think i'm shedding a tear. It so perty :)
Excellent! I love diesel cold starts!
I love struggling Diesel engine sound :D
my 95 12v start up with in like 3 seconds of cranking at 0 degrees Fahrenheit.
same here man!!
+norfolkdash9 thats how it should be. lol
same here none of that gay 24v
+Helio Briceno my 24v starts up within 3 seconds at 0 degrees Fahrenheit. 24v is not "gay"
i'm going to be honest. i dont have a vehicle. but i sure know quite a bit about trucks. And i know as a fact that the 24v makes alot more power than a 12v does. not sure why someone would call an improvement on the 5.9 block "gay"
Hot startup man, loved the cranking and pumping.
Awesome.
Thats an awesome decal on the tailgate!
great sound... stacks = awesome
your truck is a beautiful thing
Sounds like my 2.6 truck spooling up there towards the end
I love the way that truck sounds
I have my Dodge 4 years till this day and no problems. Besides the engine, Suspension, Chassis, Axle, Steering box. But other wise i'm still here at my house. + I bought NEW from a registered Dodge Dealership.
who are u kidding
Dude that truck sounds sick
Needs new glow plugs!
i most defiantly agree with you. the v8s have way more power in the higher rpms. cummins are nice for lugging around the pasture and such but mine falls flat on its face at 70. My powerstroke is great for pulling down the road.
awe the nice white smoke cold starts of diesels!
One bad thing about older diesel engines...they hate cold weather...like waking up a hibernating grizzly bear
Fix your grid heater
Cummins uses a grid heater which works way better than glow plugs, can start at -20 degrees without a problem. I need to plug in my F350 King Ranch if it's near freezing or below but never plug in my Dodge.

Clean...dirty...smokey... It doesnt matter its a cummins its badass to begin with
Yeah that and its low on alternator fluid. And they need to grease the rear diffuser to prevent ectoplasma from leaking on to the slip yoke for the blinker.
"if it don't blow black, take it back jack!"
what a nice TRUCK i love it
NIce truck, that how mine starts in the cold not plugged in too! good looking truck and the stacks.
Its soot!! It falls back to the ground and acts like fertilizer for the plants. Its more enviro friendly than a gas burner. Look it up
WHAT??? Lol that's the funniest thing I have heard in a long time. Neither Dodge nor Ford nor Chevy or any other car manufacturer for that matter makes Cummins. Cummins makes Cummins!!
I’m honestly thinking there is more emissions in that startup as a Prius uses in a month
@ dieselinside69... A straight 6 d.I. diesel that uses a common rail system doesn't have glow plugs, it has an electronic heater.
I really like the way it starts
@boosteddiesel Actually, in the compression-ignition engine/Diesel, air in the combustion pre-chambers is compressed to the point where it is hot enough to ignite the fuel, during a cold-start, the air in the combustion pre-chambers is not hot enough to ignite the fuel, so while cold starting, which is usually a lot of cranking, that boosts the compression which in turn, heats the air to the required temperature, which in turn ignites the fuel, thus starting the engine
holy shit!!! sounds like an EMD locomotive starting
@gameover863 hey man the one thing witht he cummins is they dont have glow plugs tey have grid heaters so it heats up the air going into it so its not as good as gow plugs would work but its more realiable because u cant have bad glow plugs and if the glow plugs crack off u got huge problems like i did on my 6.2 gm diesel the cummins is by far the best light duty truck motor out there i love them and KEEP ON CUMMIN

you're right, makes an ace video!!
probably has big injectors and a grid heater delete. The only reason these have grid heaters are so that when you start them up they don't smoke.
i like the decal, love the truck
Your sticker on the back of the tailgate is awesome
@cullen9017 basically when a cummins b series is built, there are two ECM's that are installed, 1: dodge chrysler/dodge software for dodge trucks... 2: cummins software for heavy duty trucks...the chrysler/dodge software pretty much tunes down the cummins for emissions reasons...however, there are countless aftermarket ECM's available to solve that problem

3 bad ass cummins in one video
@tacodude20 commonrail is Bosch technology, it just so happens that the Bosch commonrail fuel injection system is used on the Cummins b series i 6 24 valve...also, the new Powerstroke 6.7 code named the scorpion also employs Bosch commonrail fuel injection technology
that's a beautiful sight and sound.
...Cummins shakes it all right...that thing will give you sea sickness :)
This is why i think the cummins would have been better outfited with glowplugs, like most other diesels. But still a great engine
you know what, I think this video is awesome. id do the same thing if it was my truck. it isnt good for the truck to do that, no, but either is a burn out, or peeling around a corner. but its a fun way to show off. nice truck man, love the sound of the cummings. id like to see more videos of the truck.
Very best Diesel engine Nostalgia
Damn i all most cried when that thing turned over...fucking beautiful
@bigstretch100 i agree with ya after I did some checking into stuff its nuttin but fuel going out of the pipes and with my new camper I just baught the smoke is not the best thing where stain it and cost more money to clean the smoke stain.

Advanced Timing at its finest.
@BFD15i
If he has had the truck tuned and timing advanced it would cause hard starting on them real cold days and if his 12er is anything like mine you gotta hold er half throttle to get her goin in cold cold weather I live in so Indiana and its seen some cold ass days here this year
awsome sticker you have on the tailgate

These are the best cummins pickups
Wow that is so awesome lol, when I get my Cummins I want it to smoke like that then drive right by a EPA office, or drive it around in California.
Holy. Look at that smoke!
totally love this video! (and the fact you LIKE to do this!)
i like that, dodge makes it! cummins shakes it!
Cummins is almost as american as apple pie!
lol love the tailgate sticker!! next time set the cam on a steady object to see her really SHAKE
why do all old cummins start like this, are the owners always revving it up once it starts or is that just how the engine does it
@MrCortcort they have electric heat grids that are called grid heaters...like that of a toaster
@DtoTheDoubleG welcome to america, the land of advanced timing and advanced fuel pumps
And thanks to you, it's still snowing in April because you killed the ozone a little more, lol.
+Brian Zaborowski Diesel smoke sinks to the groud because its heavier than air. Gas vehicles do much more environmental damage than diesels.
I don't care either way, was just trying to be funny.
Try harder next time.
All I can say is that I will never drive a Chevy because I'm a Ram man, although if I got a better deal when it came to it, I would take a ford but the dodge is the truck for me
Thank you and every man and woman in the military for sacrificing your life for our freedom
That is a real mans truck
wonderful black smoky sky
@cbman96 yes but this is a 12 valve which has nothing to do with a commonrail it is p-pumped..its not a vp44 or cp3(commonrail)..what im getting at is you said a i6 diesel that uses a common rail system does not use glow plugs and yes thats true but the older cummins p-pumped or vgt doesn't use glow plugs either
I like the decal on the tail gait
probably why i can start my ford in the winter
Nice my uncle was a engineer on these diesels
0:04 Sounds like Dr. Alan Grant's impression of a velociraptor
that starter sounds like 2 dolphins scroggin
Digging that truck bro
Nice Cold Start Smoke!!!
that was just simply beautiful
love how the truck rocks back and fourth hahah
That 2nd gen is badass!
i dont know what kind of tests your taking but you usually circle the answer not the problem. Ford Power!
Best way to make a Toyota Prius owner cry
So good for the environment
