  • I can't speak for all climbers, but I tend to do a heck of a whole lot of reflecting on my own progression as a rock climber. For me, free soloing has been super fun and natural progression. The North Ridge was one of my first traditional-style rock climbing leads, and one of my first multi-pitch free solo rock climbs! I can't say enough good things about this route. The approach is pretty easy, the route's climbing movement is flowy, and the rock quality is bomber! You can't go wrong with this route.
All you'll need to climb this awesome route is a standard rack (possibly even lighter than that) and a 60m or 70m rope.
The approach for this climb begins at the Table Rock Parking Lot and takes about 30 minutes, moving at a moderate pace. The trail gets a little bushywacky but just hug the cliff edge, and you'll soon find yourself underneath The North Ridge!
Thanks for watching, and I can't wait to climb with ya'll again!

@@SendItSan I’ve yet to start crushing routes in the gorge. NC is so baddass. Such a hidden gem. I’m from the Pacific Northwest and I’ve never seen so many killer walls and variety! There’s nothing like it back west maybe outside of a few spots, Yosemite obviously, but BC and some hidden gems in the Cascades and the Rockies. Utah and Wyoming are killer too. I just love NC though. I’d have never thought there was so much climbing to offer. Laurel Knob scares the crap nuggets out of me. It’s a legit big wall. In the damn south east!!!!

@@danielgockerell I live and cut my teeth climbing in NC. It's sooo nice! You might find it interesting that many climbers in the south east use Laurel Knob and looking glass to train for big wall climbing before going out west to areas like Yosemite!
