it's always a good starting point when you get an idea for a video. Start with that, should be smooth sailing from there. If it takes you more than 10 minutes to answer that question - the idea prob needs to be re thought.

I’m just watching this today but it inspired me to do a flat lay for my grad cap and some of my memories for my college experience. It’s my first time doing a flat lay and you can definitely tell I’m still an amateur photographer, but it felt so nice today to just take a break from all the stress life has been bringing recently and just get back to something that makes me happy and something that is new! I appreciate all the tips too because it really helped me figure what I wanted to lay with my cap

I think a great way to explain what you are going for is "rationale and story". A photo is like a scene in a story and every item in that scene is a character of that story. The subject is the main character and everything else must be there to support the hero's story.
I think this "not use space as intended", as you feel with your office, is very common! It's just very hard to know how it will feel to use something beforehand. Some things just wear in! One example are footpaths in parks. They exceed the intended walking space, but are just so much fun to walk as they feel more organic, plus they can lead to completely different places. With all the space you have, give it some time! :)
