12:48 Because they were more symbols than characters. They represented obstacles to the CMCs path to getting their Marks and growing up. After clearing that obstacle and being rewarded with their Cutie Marks, they had served their purpose.
Not really. In Crusaders of the Lost Mark we saw different sides of Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. They are very much characters with many aspects to them that can be explored more, not just generic bullies.
@@Secret_Moon My interpretation of that is the CMC's moment of clarity. After years of attempting to help themselves, they decide to be mature and help someone else, and are rewarded with their Cutie Marks.
@@justinriley It doesn't change the fact that the writers had set up DT and SP as complex characters, not generic symbols. It would have been interesting if SweetieBell, Applebloom and Scootaloo had been given individual goals. SweetieBell: As we’ve seen in a few episodes, SweetieBell possesses a beautiful voice. It would have been nice to see her peruse this even more. In the Epsiode the show stoppers SweetieBell is reluctant to perform in front of other ponies, this could have made a good episode. Also we get to see her using magic it would be interesting to see what kind of magic a unicorn with talent could sing can learn. Applebloom: Appleblooms potion making has all kinds of applications, for example; is her potion making limited to just plants or can she also brew medicinal potions as well, maybe she could officially become Zecoras’ apprentice, and last,y how would her potion making effect her families traditionally run farm? I’d love to see an episode where Applebloom struggles to apply her new found talent to her families farm. Scootaloo. She’s fast, able to build things, and of course a huge Rainbowdash fan while writing this comment I remember a comment RainbowDash made mentioning a dare devil licence. I would love to see Scootaloo work towards this as a goal.
Singing-related magic...hmmm...what's the opposite of a Siren? I could see Sweetie being that, maybe something like Cadence's love spells but cast via song.
Which is funny, concidered they got that 'Job', and yet it's completely ignored and they are never actually seen doing anything in the school, other than being allowed inside to walk around, and the students know them. Also, now you know, why some of the episodes have inconsistent writing! It's not one writer simply disregarding crucial plot points from past episodes, but rather new writers coming in, lacking knowledge of them! Man, were running out of stuff to complain about in this show! It's great!
13:57 Dancing horses are a thing it’s called Dressage (all be it with a rider but the horse is still moving to the beat of the music) and if you want something more military there’s drill team which is like marching band crossed with horseback riding.
18:44 Firebrand, I believe you have summed it up perfectly what the biggest problem with this episode is (and unfortunately, by extension, this review as well).
When I saw what their cutie mark's were, I honestly expected that the end result of the CMC's storyline (their destiny or whatever you want to call it) would be that they make an organization dedicated to help ponies (and possibly other creatures) find their special talents all over Equestria, with a design like the shield cutie marks they have being their symbol (like the one they gave Gabby).
I hear that the inspiration for the design on Canterlot was Minas Tirith from Return of the King. Clearly they took inspiration from Gondorian soldiers when making the royal guards.
@@ambermargheim5726 Oh, it's a compliment. After all, Gondorian soldiers were the greatest fighters in all of the LOTR trilogy ... ... ... Of course it was an insult! Gondorians were the stormtroopers of LOTR, to the point where Gandalf had to shout "NOT ON THE TOWERS!" when they were actually trying to shoot the seige towers with freakin arrows during the seige of Minas Tirith.
@@ambermargheim5726 Might I suggest you give the LOTR trilogy a try? Each movie is three hours long. And they are worth every minute, I assure you. Those movies were my passion during my preteen years.
I experienced union insanity. When I was in college the orchestra I was a part of played in the Chicago Symphony hall and we were told we were not allowed to adjust neither our stands nor our chairs. If we needed something scooted toward us or backed up we had to call for a staff member to do it and we were told this was explicitly for union reasons.
I picked up a second lesson in this episode. Way back in season 2, Apple Bloom did try dancing with the express goal of getting a cutie mark, and both didn't like it and wasn't good at it, but this time, when she's trying it just to make friends and try it, she actually has a good time. Sometimes you gotta do something for its own sake to have any fun and get anything out of it.
You made some pretty good points at the beginning part of your video it's partially why I don't want to name anyone if I like or dislike any episode I judge everybody
Is executive meddling also responsible for Anders jumping off the slippery slope in _Dragon Age: Inquisition_ , or Adam Malkovich in _Other M_ making Major General Stanley look like Grand Admiral Thrawn by comparison?
I actually made a good point about this episode. Applebloom doesn't know what to do without her friends around her... because she ALWAYS has someone around her. She and her family run the Apple Farm TOGETHER. She and her friends had been trying to find their cutie-marks TOGETHER. The only time we got any solo time with Applebloom specifically is when she was having a crisis that was solved by either someone in her family, her friends, or Princess Luna. Otherwise she's got somepony around her at almost all times.
Once I get my OC and his story underway he'll have his own military Headquarters/Citadel that no one ,not even outside Equestria, can break in unless he lets them!
With your luck _one_ of the guards was paying attention and now thinks Ari _is_ a changeling and will be annoying the hell out of her like Clouseau's valet in the Pink Panther movies.
Traveling Equestria to help others is something I had said I wanted them to do shortly before Season 6 began, so spooky coincidence. But obviously, they must have had the episode finished months before I posted that, and I doubt they picked up on it anyway. However, we finally got that in Season 8, so I think a lot of fans were asking for something similar.
Welp, the Royal Guard are going to end up killing eachother. You do not put Danganronpa music in a scene talking about a class, it only leads to disaster and despair

I’m pretty sure she had supervision for a few times.
How did I miss this!?
I like how the Danganronpa music is at the beginning of the video
By the way, what you guys mentioned about we consumers not knowing about what's being done to make media
It's the same thing for Censored Video Games
We don't know why they have to do it, they just HAVE to do it
Also, now you know, why some of the episodes have inconsistent writing! It's not one writer simply disregarding crucial plot points from past episodes, but rather new writers coming in, lacking knowledge of them!
Man, were running out of stuff to complain about in this show! It's great!
Wait until you guys see The Fault in Our Cutie Marks, if you're looking for an extension on the CMC's arc
13:57 Dancing horses are a thing it’s called Dressage (all be it with a rider but the horse is still moving to the beat of the music) and if you want something more military there’s drill team which is like marching band crossed with horseback riding.
Never tapped on the notification that fast before

Firebrand, I believe you have summed it up perfectly what the biggest problem with this episode is (and unfortunately, by extension, this review as well).
I shouldn't have gotten offended at Josh calling extroverts needy but I did. Ouch.
16:08, it was at that moment she realized... SHE FUDGED UP!!!
-Double D
Jesus, even I, someone who has had no experience with the military would make a better soldier.
AWESOME
Can I just say, I absolutely LOVE the character design for this guest
I do too, and all credit goes to Lightning Bliss! I just said, "ponify me, and add pointy ears 'cause I'm a Trekkie."
Gosh, I think Fireside has to be my favorite guest in a while. Sense of humor, voice, pony design, it’s all great.
You guys need to hire new guards. XD
Always look forward to ur vids
When I saw what their cutie mark's were, I honestly expected that the end result of the CMC's storyline (their destiny or whatever you want to call it) would be that they make an organization dedicated to help ponies (and possibly other creatures) find their special talents all over Equestria, with a design like the shield cutie marks they have being their symbol (like the one they gave Gabby).
This episode personally hurt me emotionally. I relate to apple bloom way too much
when I watch your videos I take it too seriously
I hear that the inspiration for the design on Canterlot was Minas Tirith from Return of the King. Clearly they took inspiration from Gondorian soldiers when making the royal guards.
Is that a complement or am insult?
@@ambermargheim5726 Oh, it's a compliment. After all, Gondorian soldiers were the greatest fighters in all of the LOTR trilogy ... ... ... Of course it was an insult! Gondorians were the stormtroopers of LOTR, to the point where Gandalf had to shout "NOT ON THE TOWERS!" when they were actually trying to shoot the seige towers with freakin arrows during the seige of Minas Tirith.
@@youtubecreators384 sorry. I'm not as into that as I am mlp, Narnia that stuff
@@ambermargheim5726 Might I suggest you give the LOTR trilogy a try? Each movie is three hours long. And they are worth every minute, I assure you. Those movies were my passion during my preteen years.
@@youtubecreators384 I can try agian. Though books like enders game, and such hold me, I can't always get into books and movies
Imagine Finn the Pony at an Applewood studio.
they showed sombra dying, twice
Oh my Luna, finally an earth pony.
Are you sure? Check the ears...! ;-)
The Danganronpa music at the beginning fills me with HOPE.👍
Fire Brand and Arumau are the Makoto and Kyoko of the Brony Analysis team
Josh Blackwell and it fills me with DESPAIR!!
@@ejelecflametails6657 Someone should make fan art of their OCs in Makoto & Kyoko outfits and send it to them on twitter or something.
@@joshblackwell8632 but who do knows both Danganronpa and Fire Brand and Arumau? That's someone we should request
@@ejelecflametails6657 Sadly I have no clue.
12:21
Deems fightin words mister!
;-)
You made some pretty good points at the beginning part of your video it's partially why I don't want to name anyone if I like or dislike any episode I judge everybody
Is executive meddling also responsible for Anders jumping off the slippery slope in _Dragon Age: Inquisition_ , or Adam Malkovich in _Other M_ making Major General Stanley look like Grand Admiral Thrawn by comparison?
The "it isn't the main thing about you" review (with Brawny) was labeled made for kids...
THE MEME LIVES! IT LIIIIIIIVVVVEEESSSS!
I was waiting for "Is Mayonaisse an instrument?" When he asked any questions? Lol
On Your Marks is the second best CMC Episode since Crusaders of the Lost Mark
1:52 under the most unusual circunstances
Did anyone else watch Some Assembly Required and smiled as soon as they said Travis Turners name?
I actually made a good point about this episode. Applebloom doesn't know what to do without her friends around her... because she ALWAYS has someone around her. She and her family run the Apple Farm TOGETHER. She and her friends had been trying to find their cutie-marks TOGETHER. The only time we got any solo time with Applebloom specifically is when she was having a crisis that was solved by either someone in her family, her friends, or Princess Luna. Otherwise she's got somepony around her at almost all times.
11:00 Keep that line tucked away for when FireBrand has to do "The Last Crusade". It's going to bite that episode HARD in the flank.
Dancing horses: Anyone ever see the Spanish Riding School perform? They are amazing!!!
That use of ted ed was brilliant.
this Video was a good video. and it was fun to watch Ep and the review too.
Dang it Sweetie Bloom!! Stop with the weird ships!! Ahhh!
Well, guess they are ending the show spinning their wheels. Only two unconfirmed episodes left.
1:57 OH HELL YEAH BRING ON THE EMOTIONAL UNDERTALE MUSIC
No joke actually one of my favorite episodes
The title of the video forms a fully intelligible sentence. Congratulations!
8:36 Do I spy a Sweetie Bloom?
Traveling Equestria to help others is something I had said I wanted them to do shortly before Season 6 began, so spooky coincidence. But obviously, they must have had the episode finished months before I posted that, and I doubt they picked up on it anyway. However, we finally got that in Season 8, so I think a lot of fans were asking for something similar.
National club...... seeds were planted long ago with Babs Seed and the remote branch of the CMC.
I love the riffing on extroverts in this review
Welp, the Royal Guard are going to end up killing eachother.
You do not put Danganronpa music in a scene talking about a class, it only leads to disaster and despair
nobody has died yet? sombra and the stormking would like a word
