Forgot to point out that Sunburst apparently never reads his mail from home. Meaning it is very likely Starlight did try to keep in touch, only for him never to read the letters and respond. Making Starlight feel even more abandoned and enhancing blame against cutie Mark's.
I'm sure Thespio is planning his dissertation on why Starlight's father needs to be locked in prison for life for his daughter's actions. Or just being related to Starlight at all.
Makes me wonder what happened to Starlight; the goth phase bedroom was a visual joke, but think about it, it remained like that because she _left_ home in that phase. Does that mean her 'phase' transitioned to something more bitter? She became 'goth' because of certain emotions she wasn't really capable of dealing with that her father inadvertently prevented her from learning how with his coddling behaviour, so her emotional growth was stunted. But out in the world alone, the emotions that made her 'goth' possibly festered and transitioned from that 'silly' attempt at expressing herself to genuine malignant bitterness. Going from "the world sucks and my heart can't take it anymore" to "the world sucks, I know why, and I'm going to make it pay." Going from 'Goth', to a full-on authoritarian cult leader is one hell of an emotional transition.
Depends on your priorities. For some business people? Its harder to fire someone who has family because they know what it feels like to need a job to support the ones they love. But some people find it easier to divorce someone because they realize they're partner just isn't the right one for them (maybe that person just isn't mature enough to see marriage as anything serious and can't commit to the long haul. Or maybe the marriage became toxic and one party has mixed feelings) Something I've seen and experienced to a degree.

I love any episode revolving around Starlight and her friends. hate the StarBurst ship though, good platonic opposite sex friendships are hard to find.
1) I've always viewed the abilities of the Tree of Harmony/Map Table as directly tied to the Mane Six's presence. The more places and creatures they spread friendship too, the farther the reach of the Tree's influence, the more power it possesses, and the more creatures can be called to solve Friendship problems. 2) I love Firelight and Stellar Flare. They may be overprotective and overbearing respectively, but it comes from such a genuine and heartfelt place, you can't help but feel for them. It's kinda sad when you realize that the reason they do what they do is because they both failed to protect their children from the pains of life. 3) So Starlight gets her emotional issues and overreactive nature from her father, and her bluntness, controlling tendencies, and "Use your talents to solve your problems" mentality from Stellar Flare. Meanwhile, Sunburst gets his self-esteem issues from his mom, and his love of knowledge and magic/history from Firelight(?). Also, did anyone else notice that when Sunburst was dressing down his mother, he had a cluster of her plans in his cloak? As much as he hates getting her plans, seems he does think some of them are useful. ;) All in all, I love this episode. The moral was a good one, the humor was top notch(Never gonna forget Starlight's "War Line" XD), we got some more info on both Sunny and Star, and I love Firelight(Does anyone else think he seemed kinda like Pinkie Pie?). Man I love Kingdom Hearts. It's my favorite video game series. Such a well written series with great examples of powerful bonds to companionship in some way or another with a very touching story and complex yet fascinating lore. For every one con the series has? There are at least ten pros. ^_^
I'm more into the preservation side of the argument, specifically when it concerns things of historical/religious/cultural significance. For example, tearing down an ancient Buddhist temple and putting up a WalMart in its place...bad. Turning a 14th Century Castle into a Motel 6...bad Tearing down Stonehenge and putting up a Starbucks in it's place...bad Plowing over sacred Native American land to put up a freeway...VERY bad. Some of these things link us to both our cultural identities and our ancestry. If we destroy them and replace them with stuff that's "bright, shiny and new;" we won't be able to get those things back. Plus...all that glitz and glam will fade away, in due time
Agreed. Now what I think is too far on preservation is when the thing becomes a serious danger that we can no longer fix or stop. That and preventing the owners of said place stay on it to keep it pristine. But in south Dakota, visit the town of vermillion one day and drive all around, you can see on the streets the decades of house building, the changes in style and material everywhere, some streets are the typical layout, more modern homes, but almost random seeming areas of old and new together. It's beautiful honestly, like the town made a time capsule out of itself. My advice, look and see if you can find a house with a round castle style tower. Trust me it's so cool.
There must be balance. Leaving the sacred temple or land alone? Good. Putting up an information center about it and its significance a mile away? BETTER. Carrying books and pamphlets about it in shops throughout a nearby neighborhood, in addition to preserving it and having that information center? BEST!
*(trots through town with my cart before seeing the flying fluff dragon)* Party Howitzer again. @Jett Ufema Not sound rude but, so what if he is? what's it to you?, you don't have a problem with that do you?
@Jett Ufema You've never heard of him what?...are you new to the fandom or something?...because if so then you'd be first to have never hard of the Commenter Dragon, because other than you there's not a person in the RUclips mlp fanbase that hasn't heard of him...anyway you might as well just deal with him being in every comment section like everyone else does, because commenter dragon is well known for posting kind and supportive comments on a lot of videos.
@Jett Ufema Well you may not have intended for it to sound like you hate his comments but it sounded like you did anyway which is why i asked if you had a problem with it, but since you don't then i guess everything's cool.

...You're kidding, right? I had to wait in his computer for MONTHS to get in.
@@FluffDragonArt ... Man, you SURE took your time. Like, seriously, if you wanted, y'all could'a just burst through his door. The guards don't really give a damn, to be honest. Wish they did though, it would actually be a challenge to get into a base for once.
Honestly, you could make a billboard advertising cake just outside the base and the guards would miss anyone breaking in.
I love any episode revolving around Starlight and her friends. hate the StarBurst ship though, good platonic opposite sex friendships are hard to find.
THANK YOU!!!
As much as he hates getting her plans, seems he does think some of them are useful. ;)
All in all, I love this episode. The moral was a good one, the humor was top notch(Never gonna forget Starlight's "War Line" XD), we got some more info on both Sunny and Star, and I love Firelight(Does anyone else think he seemed kinda like Pinkie Pie?).
"The Parent Map" is definitely one of my personal favorite episodes of the series, and is either my #1 or #2 favorite of S8.
5:14 I think we need a third category of helicopter mother for Nagisa's mom in Assassination Classroom. I'm thinking...the Hind from Metal Gear Solid? 😁
Im surprised you didnt point out that the title of the ep was a slight reference of the Parent Trap
Oof. I understand the plight of overbearing parents. They CONSTANTLY worry about me and my sanity. If they were any more overbearing, I'd snap and probably slaughter them. (Crickets chirp) I need a psycho-analyst.
Using the soundtrack for The Parent Trap as the background music for this just wasn’t fair. I wasn’t emotionally prepared for it, and it made me tear up. 🥺

This is something which I had never known about before the blue laws discussion came up. In Arcadia, California, when it comes to crossing a street or driveway, a peacock has the right of way.
Please tell me this law was made because someone back then owned a peacock that they just let loose at random times.

Man I love Kingdom Hearts. It's my favorite video game series. Such a well written series with great examples of powerful bonds to companionship in some way or another with a very touching story and complex yet fascinating lore. For every one con the series has? There are at least ten pros. ^_^
FluffDragonArt is a treasure
... You have no idea...
I'm more into the preservation side of the argument, specifically when it concerns things of historical/religious/cultural significance.
For example, tearing down an ancient Buddhist temple and putting up a WalMart in its place...bad.
Turning a 14th Century Castle into a Motel 6...bad
Tearing down Stonehenge and putting up a Starbucks in it's place...bad
Plowing over sacred Native American land to put up a freeway...VERY bad.
BEST!
@@j.c.2240 Agreed, putting an info booth/kiosk near the shrine IS a good idea; as long as the location itself trmains in tact
*(trots through town with my cart before seeing the flying fluff dragon)* Party Howitzer again. Not surprised. *(keeps making deliveries)*
In all seriousness though, there's also something else I sympathize with here. When I moved away from my childhood home in South Dakota and came back to visit Sioux Falls for my stepsister's wedding, EVERYTHING felt different. I can't tell you how much I felt out of place there.
