I just had mine installed at a Best Buy electronics garage shop charged me 250 for the install not bad I mean if I knew how I would’ve done it myself but so far best 250 I’ve spent in a while looks absolutely great in my 2011 EX-L coupe and they installed a reverse camera as well with a wide angle shot and a remote start and proximity key!!! For an extra 60 so 310 total absolutely LOVE IT!!
@gigarat4026 Yeah, unless you’re getting smack and a blowie for that price I’d say you’re getting shafted. You can save a lot of money with a bit of time and effort.
Nice video. I did this install using a Podofo unit last May in our 2012 EX-L V6 sedan. I learned a lot of things doing the install that aren't really documented elsewhere so I figured I'd mention some things: - Things will differ slightly if you have the model with premium sound. It has an extra subwoofer and amp and all that, so it has an extra connector on the back of the radio. I left this connector disconnected at first and had a pop sound from the speakers when the factory stereo was turning on/off. I went back in and reconnected it, it was all good after that. - One of the biggest wildcards with this whole thing is steering wheel controls. Some variations of this unit support steering wheel controls that work both on the Android headunit and the factory radio at the same time, but the one I had only seems to support one or the other. By default, the harness that came with mine was set up for controls on the Android headunit, which I didn't want. The solution to this involves a little black plastic connector on one of the harnesses that goes from vehicle to factory radio and vehicle to android headunit. In my case, the male connector on the vehicle side of the harness was hooked up to the female connector on the Android headunit side of the harness, so I just had to swap it over to the female connector on the factory radio side of the harness and it restored steering wheel controls to the factory radio. - If you have an EX-L, you'll also have seat heater switches to disconnect when removing the center trim piece, in addition to the 12V outlet plug mentioned in the video. - I chose to mount the GPS antenna on a metal brace to the left of the lower pocket where the factory radio display is relocated to. I do have the GPS lag where it takes several minutes for the GPS to register a signal (and consequently synchronize time) when the vehicle is first turned on, but I don't think this is something that can be fixed. - By default, these units appear to not support FM radio through the Android headunit, you'll have to rely on the factory radio for that. You can hack together a setup that allows you to use FM radio on both units, but the easy solution would require you to pick one or the other and use an antenna adapter. There is a great master thread on DriveAccord that contains both my experience with these Android headunits and several others as well. Lot of good info there. Here's the link: www.driveaccord.net/threads/installed-10-1%E2%80%9D-touch-screen-with-apple-carplay-and-rear-camera.567547
Hey man, I have a 2011 ex trim that came with the premium audio, I’m having that popping issue, but I wanted to ask if you could elaborate on what connector you’re talking about exactly? Would help a lot. 🙏🏽
@drift240sx9 I believe most of these newer android headunits have bluetooth by default. Some include wired/wireless carplay/android auto, screen mirroring, etc. Depends on the seller and the listing
Hey Dude thanks for all your help I did everything you did step by step and I'm having issues getting sound out of my new radio. My harnesses in the car allows like there is no harness to go into the back of my head unit. And my aux isn't working Is there a video uou have that shows me how to wire car up with using aux? . I have a 2010 accord sedan 2.4l. Thanks for your time Dude
You know that clear plastic they gave you for the old lcd screen has protective plastic on it on both sides that’s why it looks cloudy. Take that off and it’s crystal clear
@@DudePingu I feel you there. The kit on our 2012 came with some pretty mediocre plastic too. I didn't notice the peelable plastic on both sides at first, only one side, so I peeled that off a bit later, but the plastic still has these weird marks that look almost like air bubbles when you install a screen protector on a phone. Doesn't look the greatest but it gets the job done so it is what it is.
At night when you turn on the lights of your car, turn on the lights of the original stereo? I mean all the buttons and do they function? I ask because I barely installed mine and I realized when I was driving the vehicle at night and I wanted to turn on the heater and I saw that each button could not be identified because it lost the lighting. I don't know if it was because of the screen that was installed.
Hey there, everything worked after the installation. If the AC controls (along with the original radio lights) don’t work I’d say to check the harness behind the air vents and make sure it didn’t shake loose, it’s easy to forget
Hey was kind of wondering if you can help me out and I absolutely love your video you did an excellent job but mine I'm having all kinds of issues with it I can't pick up no radio stations can the GPS takes forever to load I didn't know if you can buy a better GPS antenna and would make it quicker or not and how in the world do you link your phone all these apps that are wanting to charge to link your phone what do you use I would really appreciate any advice
Hey there, glad you enjoyed the video. Feel free to sub if you want to see similar content in the future as well :) So a few things here...It sounds like your radio issues may be caused by a fault in the antenna connection/placement, I'd recommend trying to adhere that small radio/antenna module (it looks like a small black square) in the upper area of the empty cavity behind the android head unit under the dash, as well as making sure the cable is securely fastened to the appropriate connector on the back of the head unit itself; the same type of issue could possibly be affecting the GPS antenna connection/placement as well. On these generic android head units you should be able to scroll through the apps to find TLink already installed, which (depending on the hardware specifications of your head unit) may provide wired or wireless CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, and maybe even mirroring. Then again, this is assuming the unit you purchased advertised these capabilities in their description as there are a Lot of different choices for the more popular vehicles (for example, for the Honda Accord 08 - 11 I believe there were various configurations from Android 10 to Android 12, from 2GBram to 32GBram, etc). Newer versions of Android may also require more ram for better performance, which would ideally be factored in when considering a purchasing decision. But in any case, if all else fails you may be able to share these issues with the seller. Working on another vehicle I had a unit with a ram failure, and the seller provided a replacement, so depending on the seller customer service could be there. But YMMV. I'll pin this comment so others can chime in with their experience as well. Hope this helps!
It’s a little complicated to explain without a visual example, however depending on the kit you receive you should be able to screw the head unit and the provided mounting bracket together, then mount it in that space above the radio. In the kit I received they provided a bracket for another head unit which did not fit, so I had to get creative with longer screws and make my own solution. Don’t have much more to say beyond that, it just depends on the head unit kit you receive
Oh, I used the original mounting bracket and two long screws to hold the head unit in place. From the front the screws are not visible, but there is empty space behind the head unit in my setup. I did not use the provided bracket at all as it did not fit (in my case).
Hey, thank you so much for the video. It really helps, but after my set up the buttons on the side of the screen, aren’t they supposed to light up because in the nighttime I can’t see anything. There was a connector in the back. I didn’t see where it goes.
Hm. I think there is a toggle in the settings for ambient light illumination, or something like that. Might be worth taking a look in there to see if it makes any difference.
Hey there, glad you like the content. Turns out the Accord I’m working on has some electrical gremlins (a few parasitic draws I’m tracking down), however if all goes well I should be able to get to this around the weekend or so. After that I’ll put some more effort into editing (to avoid repeat footage and lost audio from the last video, it was a bit of a mess. Lol). Edit - The backup cam installation video is up on this channel (also in the description), Thanks for watching!
Yo so I looked through your videos and still don’t see the backup cam install video. You still going to make it? I’ve installed this stereo and everything works well but having some problems getting the backup cam to turn on when I shift the car into reverse. Crazy thing is, I tested the backup camera in a feature the stereo has that allows you to view the front and rear camera at any time. I moved the plug from the CVBS-IN-1 to another yellow cable that wasn’t labeled and it came up but no matter which yellow female plug I plug the backup cam into, it won’t trigger and come up on the screen. I did some research and apparently you have to connect the red wire that’s hanging to the backup cam wire, but I’m not finding the correct wire to connect the red wire to at the back of the stereo. Also, I hear the noise people are talking about when I’m not playing music and sometimes when I am playing music. I’m sure it’s a ground problem, however I’m not completely sure which blue wire I should ground just yet. If you could make that backup cam install video, that would be great. I know we’re all busy out here tho. Thanks 🙏🏾
Hey there. On the head unit I believe that red wire would connect to the wire labeled “reverse”, which should activate when the car is shifted into reverse. The yellow wire should output a signal when plugged into the female yellow RCA jack labeled CVBS. I have not experienced the noise issue some folks are getting from the AUX inputs, hopefully someone can share their fix in the comments. Edit: Uploaded my backup cam installation recently but it looks like you got it sorted. Glad it worked out for you! Thanks for watching 👍
@@DudePingu I randomly just came across video explaining the exact fix I needed. Must be my algorithm doing its thing. Thanks for the info 👌🏾 ruclips.net/video/kS_dt6_1oxM/видео.htmlsi=bHdn53_SPV7Xh30h
Hey there. Thanks for the video. Great help. However, i am not picking up any radio signal and am only getting buzzing through the speakers. I double checked all cables and they look correct per your video. Does this stereo need to be bolted in to the dash before testing? Am i missing a ground connection? Any help would be much appreciated.
Hey there, I’ve seen similar comments and it seems that (probably) one of these chinese manufacturers are shipping head units without proper grounding implemented. I have not run into this issue, however you can always try to ground the headunit. Ymmv I believe most plastics are insulators (including the dash), but if you have some spare wire at a sufficient length you should be able to find bare metal in the cavity below the head unit.
I've had my headunit for about 6 months and it started flickering. I thought the fuse was blown but I checked that and it wasn't. I think it might just be overheating because it turns on sometimes, but sometimes when its hot too so idk. I know it has power too because I run my dashcam's power through the headunit. I've tried unplugging the dashcam already but nothing happened.
Yeah, it sounds like it’s overheating. If you’re savvy you can open up the head unit itself and attach some thick copper shims to the chips on the board with thermal paste, that could absorb some of the heat…But if it still flickers after that, the head unit could just be faulty.
The Accord in this video doesn’t have any special steering wheel controls to my knowledge, just volume and cruise control, etc. I cannot say if those handsfree features will work with this specific unit, could be worth reaching out to the seller to verify.
Hey there, it arrived in the package containing the new headunit. You may be able to reach out to the seller of your particular headunit on aliexpress (or wherever you initially purchased it) but ymmv
Hey there…An earth sound? So, a buzzing? Check if the proper source (AUX) is selected, though it’s still difficult to determine without seeing it myself. But from there, I’d start by taking a look at the RCA connections (ensuring the connector is fully inserted in the headunit, the male/female leads, and their destination), as they may have shaken loose or not be fully connected. If they are fully connected and the buzz still persists, it may be a grounding issue. You can attempt to run the ground from the stereo harness off the radio on to a chassis ground, if that works the issue is probably the harness ground on the headunit. Going to pin this comment so someone can give further feedback on your issue
Hey there, thankfully I haven’t experienced that issue but it looks like some users are reporting that echo is caused by having both the mic on the phone And the headunit enabled simultaneously. Depending on if you’re using android auto or carplay the solutions can be different, but I’ll pin this comment to see if someone who has solved this can provide some feedback
Thanks so much!! Odd thing is when the car isn’t in motion, they can’t hear the echo but when I’m driving the car, that’s when the echo can be heard. I hope someone can help! 🙏🏽
Depends on the head unit. For example the unit in this video is 8888, however you can try the codes from the list below: -3368 confirmed working on Navifly UIS 7862 unit -168 -126 -888 -121212 -8888 -888888 -3711 -1617 -12345 -123456 -7890 be careful. This cause a might factory reset. -7890(**). (**) is your current time. example ..if u try it at 3.00 o'clock just key in 789003
Hey there, I don’t think so. There are kits on aliexpress which do not include the mount for it, and I also briefly tested the screen without the original top screen connected in this video. Seems to be optional, I suppose.
this happened to me as well, one of the cables disrupted a circuit connection to the ac, you need to connect the OEM wire into the ac without using the cable that was included and it will work
Help please! My car was good before i do the Stereo CarPlay upgrade then some how I can’t start my engine. When i put my key turn to ignition I, II is ok (have power like radio) but when i try to Start the engine the whole car shut down no power, no crank, no nothing then i put brand new battery in the car and it’s do the samething. PLEASE! Help me SOS 😢😢 i only have one car to work. My car is 2008 Honda Accord EXL. THANKS 🙏🙏🙏🙏
AC stopped working in my 2009 Honda Accord after installing an aftermarket android radio. Any idea why that may be?? BTW, if I remove the head unit, and install back everything factory, AC starts working. Any help be great...
Hey there, I believe the head unit’s wiring harnesses are independent of the A/C harness (at least they are on the 2010 model in this video). The AC harness usually connects directly behind the AC vents there, some folks forget to connect that harness and lose all AC controls (no lights, etc). If that harness is plugged in correctly and still does not respond to any of the AC buttons, the wiring harness itself could be faulty. But since you mentioned it works with the original radio, it could just be a loose connection.
My honda accord does not have that extra plug in piece for the audio for some reason but i was getting audio before i started the install am i missing something??
Hm…That’s strange. To my knowlege the 08 - 12 model years of the Accord should have the same harness configuration. Double check your harness connections, I’d say. I’ll pin this comment, maybe someone who had a similar experience can chime in here.
@@underratednunk1935 Were you able to resolve your issue? I have a similar problem on my hands, I did not have the audio connection(like the one in the video) in the original factory head unit. @@alexcastillo658 no, unfortunately not i put the regular stereo back in but im still doing research to see if they have a radio without an audio connector
Hey there…Not sure what you’re referring to. If you’re talking about that housing for the smaller screen, it was included in the android head unit kit.
@@DudePingu that’s unfortunate for me then. I bought a similar one and it didn’t come with one. I can’t mount the original screen below until I find someone to buy it from.
I’m not sure where you’re located geographically, however I did some digging and it looks like you can buy the trim separately here: a.aliexpress.com/_mrv2GHK Looks a bit pricey though. There are probably similar listings at different price points on Aliexpress
Hey there, yeah that happens sometimes. Not sure if you’re the original owner or second/etc, however in the glove compartment, in the pouch with your vehicle manual, there should also be a card with a code for your radio. You enter the code by pressing the buttons labeled 1/2/3/4/5/6, corresponding to the sequence of the digits on that card. It’s a weird theft-prevention measure implemented by honda around this time…If the card is not there, you may need to go to a dealer to get it sorted.
Hey there, I do have canbus functioning with steering wheel controls retained. Depending on the head unit you purchased I believe ymmv on whether or not it will work with your vehicle after installation

Hey there. Not sure exactly what brand it was, though to my knowledge all these generic android head units are basically the same (with different memory configs ofc). Android 10, and it was actually 2gx16g I believe…Plenty fast for the owner’s usage, if I recall

Do the steering wheel
Controls work out of the box with this unit ? Does the voice activated button on the steering wheel bring up Siri or google ?
The Accord in this video doesn’t have any special steering wheel controls to my knowledge, just volume and cruise control, etc. I cannot say if those handsfree features will work with this specific unit, could be worth reaching out to the seller to verify.
Where did you get the red and yellow harness extension to wire the old monitor housing to the bottom? I seem to be missing that
Hey there, it arrived in the package containing the new headunit. You may be able to reach out to the seller of your particular headunit on aliexpress (or wherever you initially purchased it) but ymmv
I have installed the same … but im getting an earth sound in speakers… please suggest me an solution for this
Hey there…An earth sound?
Are you having issues with phone calls? The caller on the other end can hear their own voice echos
Do you know the passcode the factory settings on this unit. Trying to fix the microphone
Depends on the head unit. For example the unit in this video is 8888, however you can try the codes from the list below:
-3368 confirmed working on Navifly UIS 7862 unit

-126
-888
-121212
-8888

-7890 be careful. This cause a might factory reset.
-7890(**). (**) is your current time. example ..if u try it at 3.00 o'clock just key in 789003
do you need to keep the old top screen in order to have the new head unit to worked ???
Hey there, I don’t think so. There are kits on aliexpress which do not include the mount for it, and I also briefly tested the screen without the original top screen connected in this video. Seems to be optional, I suppose.
Hello; Did the same setup, but now my radio backlight do not light when I turn on headlights (night time) its completly dark.. Ideas?
this happened to me as well, one of the cables disrupted a circuit connection to the ac, you need to connect the OEM wire into the ac without using the cable that was included and it will work
Help please!
@@DudePingu hmm... Good point
@@DudePingu I'll look into it and update you. Thanks for the feedback.
suggest you put links to items and radio you used for others to purchase.
Hey, thanks for the feedback. The aliexpress link is gone, however I’ll put specs in the description.
@@DudePingu thank you! Can I send you a picture of the back of the radio so you can see what I mean by i dont have that extra plug in piece
i am having trouble to with that, the harness doesnt fit where my aux plug would be, did you ever figure it out
@@underratednunk1935
@@underratednunk1935 Were you able to resolve your issue? I have a similar problem on my hands, I did not have the audio connection(like the one in the video) in the original factory head unit. So the brown harness does not fit anywhere for me.
I contacted the seller through amazon a few minutes ago, hopefully I hear back from them.
@@alexcastillo658 no, unfortunately not i put the regular stereo back in but im still doing research to see if they have a radio without an audio connector
Where did you get the bottom oem head unit trim?
Hey there…Not sure what you’re referring to. If you’re talking about that housing for the smaller screen, it was included in the android head unit kit.
@@DudePingu that’s unfortunate for me then. I bought a similar one and it didn’t come with one. I can’t mount the original screen below until I find someone to buy it from.
I’m not sure where you’re located geographically, however I did some digging and it looks like you can buy the trim separately here: a.aliexpress.com/_mrv2GHK
Looks a bit pricey though. There are probably similar listings at different price points on Aliexpress
@@DudePingu That’s perfect. Thank you for helping me out :)
@sbstndltn No worries
My calculator screen thing that goes below says enter code? How do I enter the code?
Hey there, yeah that happens sometimes. Not sure if you’re the original owner or second/etc, however in the glove compartment, in the pouch with your vehicle manual, there should also be a card with a code for your radio. You enter the code by pressing the buttons labeled 1/2/3/4/5/6, corresponding to the sequence of the digits on that card.
It’s a weird theft-prevention measure implemented by honda around this time…If the card is not there, you may need to go to a dealer to get it sorted.
where did you get the unit that you installed?
Aliexpress
I have no aux connecter
to connect to
where did you buy the radio? possible link
Hey there, I purchased it on aliexpress. I cannot find the exact link however the specs are in the description (2gx32g)
Can it work with CD player?
Hey there. I believe this unit does, probably best to check with the seller before purchase though
I can't get audio output to work
Me neither I’ve tried a lot of things. Don’t know what to do now.
Do you have canbus working?
Hey there, I do have canbus functioning with steering wheel controls retained. Depending on the head unit you purchased I believe ymmv on whether or not it will work with your vehicle after installation
What does the decoder let you access? Just the steering wheel controls?
I want to order one like my honda 2010 where is it where it is you what state live I live new york you can write me thank you
Hey there, I ordered this unit from aliexpress (it shipped from China, in about a week I believe). I don’t have a link however specs are in the description (2gb x 32gb)
What brand is the radio you installed? XTRONS? Podofo? Also what level Android is it 11, 12, or 13? Lastly what is the memory level 3GB + 32GB, 4GB + 64GM, or 8GB + 128GB?
Hey there. Not sure exactly what brand it was, though to my knowledge all these generic android head units are basically the same (with different memory configs ofc). Android 10, and it was actually 2gx16g I believe…Plenty fast for the owner’s usage, if I recall
Screen is kinda dark
It’s adjustable. I believe I had it on 20% or something in this video
Bro told me to not lose my bolt and what i do? Lost it😂
Yeah. Once they drop into the crevice they’re in another dimension
@@DudePingu dude i lost 3😭😭😭 literally in another dimension!
Video is dark can't see to good
Hi! I just purchased this one for my Honda accord as well, my issue is that no sound comes out🥹 If I turn the radio on it works, but once I put music from my phone or the tablet itself, there's no sound. Does anyone know how I can fix it??? Please🥹
I have the same problem
Choose the aux option on your control unit then you should get sound
Right, assuming her wiring is correct there should be sound output when Aux is selected
SUPERHERO 🙌🏼 The audio only play out of aux mode which can only be accessed from the OEM radio. It won’t allow you to access it without OEM audio Wire attached.. You need a RCA-Aux cable. The aftermarket audio cables(smaller grey split cable) towards the top won’t work& they don’t tell you…. Your Factory radio won’t recognize the aux without the OEM cable. The RCA-Aux Y cable, will plug up to the Aux Out Red/Wht LR behind the monitor, DIRECTLY into the arm rest Aux port… Took me 6hrs 😮💨😮💨😮💨🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽but it works like hell 🥹🙌🏼🙌🏼 screw the guys who don’t hit you back in the comments when they post half ass videos 😒😒
