Repeat for attention: So when will you visit the Honghe Hani rice terraces? I keep asking you about that for a reason: you have not experienced Yunnan until you do, and it will change your mind about agriculture, human ingenuity and civilization is a very positive way. This is my major suggestion for visitors to Yunnan.

Hi Naomi and Luke, the very fact that Naomi carries with her an opened small basket on her back indicated how much you guys trusted the security in China, that people will not steal things from behind. Sadly that's also something you could rarely find in the western hemisphere. I feel really proud that you guys are showing the real China (even though I'm not from China) and how you guys have became so relaxed travelling inside China as compared to when you first touched down into China. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on my 6th trip to China in few months time. My wife and myself agreed that visiting other western countries are not in our agenda nowadays looking at those protests, and instability "politically".

actually even in Tibet rural area or desert in Xinjiang still has 4G/5G signal covered. around 20 years ago, China initiated a project. each village in China must has road, power and water connected, now 4G/5G network. with these infrastructure, it's helpful to eliminate the poverty from rural area.

A famous ancient Chinese poem says "五岳归来不看山,黄山归来不看岳". Which means "The landscape of the Five Famous Mountains tops those elsewhere, and the landscape of Huangshan Mountain belittles that of the Five Famous Mountains".
Speaking of mountains, in China there we have 五岳(wǔ yuè, "Five Famous Mountains"), each of them has magnificent and gorgeous views and grows different traditional Chinese culture, Kungfu, religions. Covered by temples of different religions such as Buddhism, taoism, Confucianism.
Besides the 五岳 my favourite is 黄山(huáng shān, Mount Huang) in Anhui province. Climbing the Mount Huang, the pretty scenery of "sea of clouds", "wondrous pines" and "fantastic rock peaks" and so on definitely worth a visit. The submontane ancient village 宏村"hóng cūn" is also fascinating.

Road building in the rural areas is extremely important in China. It ensures that the remote areas have access to all the infrastructures as the city dwellers do. Children might walk those roads to go to school; villagers might use the roads to transport their yieldings, the elderlies might need those roads to get to the hospitals…etc.

If you want to climb mountains, you can go to Huangshan in Anhui, Huashan in Xi'an, and Siguniang Mountain in Sichuan; if you want to see water, you can go to Jiuzhaigou in Sichuan. The western Sichuan Plateau and Tibet are both worth visiting. But don't go to those tourist cities because they are too commercialized.

Then, seeing the water, listening the waves, thinking that why the river is so yellow. If you understand the reason, please tell us. Have fun 😅

The Tiger Leaping Gorge is very beautiful, but there are many other natural landscapes like this in China, and even more beautiful elsewhere. China has a land area of 9.6 million square kilometres and a complex and varied landscape, so if you want to get a fuller picture of China's landscapes, bloggers can try exploring the west and north of the country, where the people and the climate are different, and where you will experience very different views!

This might be part of the ancient Tea Horse Trail. Tea originated in this area and in the old days the local people would trade their tea for horses in Tibet. Even now, if you go further north to Diqing (aka Shangri La), you will find Tibetans there and they hold weekend horse races (not for tourists, only among themselves).
Happy travels wherever you roam and thanks for sharing your adventures! 👏👏👏

The south bank of the Tiger Leaping Gorge scenic spot is Yulong Snow Mountain, the main peak is 5596 meters above sea level, and the north bank of Haba Snow Mountain is 5396 meters above sea level. Tightly bound by the mountains on both sides of the river, the width of the river into the gorge is only more than 50 meters, and the narrowest tiger leopard leap over it, so the name Tiger Leaping Gorge. The canyon is 80 kilometers away from Lijiang city, the canyon is in the upper reaches of the Jinsha River, with a total length of 17 kilometers and a roundabout road of 25 kilometers. The vertical height difference of the canyon is more than 3900 meters, which is one of the deepest canyons in the world. Will you go to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain?
