- California's central valley is a great place to go bicycle touring. I'm on a three day tour in mid-March. This first day is 60 miles from Bakersfield to Porterville.
I'm riding through orange groves, almond groves, vineyards, olive groves and the occasional cow farm. The roads vary from surprisingly good to horrendous. The biggest hazards are rent-a-bees and packs of farm dogs.

Nice little bike trip ,you rode right near me ,me & the wife travel through Richgrove when we go to the casino in
Porterville! I lived all out through those towns that you went through over the years of growing up around
Porterville ,Strathmore & Lindsey ,even as far as Clovis next to Fresno ,it does have some beautiful scenery
up towards the hills & snow capped mountains with the wild flower popping!
Great video!..😎👍
It's a lovely part of the state. I'm surprised it isn't totally swamped by cyclists. It reminds me very much of the south of France.
@@terry_hutt You just rode through the nut capitol of the world ,you should had looked up some of the companies like Paramount farms or hit up some local fruit barns an picked ya up some road snacks!..😋👍
Pardon me….do you have any Grey Poupon?
Of course!
