I dunno sounds more complicated. Now I can just look at my phone and get the times and a ticket. Easy. Simple right? I think the word you’re looking for is humble times. I could be wrong.
Movie phone reminded me of the interactive story calls where you pushed a number to choose the direction of the story. Kind of like the Choose Your Own Adventure books.
I called a movie theater out of the phone book as a kid and asked what movies they were playing, and I was confused when he replied "straight" turns out i called an adult theater 😅
No newspaper or phone is needed! Once I saw a commercial on TV of a good movie coming out on Friday! On Friday evening would just walk directly to the theater. Great times growing up! 😊😊😊😊
This is back when movies were five dollars and popcorn wouldn’t require an entire paycheck lol. But something that I really miss something that to me was literally part of my Friday night, my friends and I we would smoking a little bit of marijuana and then go to Blockbuster rent a video game for the weekend and a movie for when I see my girlfriend the next day. And it was just a fun place to go and be social.
Ah yes movie phone. Thank you for calling movie phone. Press one for sleepless in Seattle. Press 2 for mission impossible. Press 3 for…the worst is you’d press the wrong one and have to listen all over again.
Those were the days. I also remember you could wait a few weeks for the movie releases to cycle and go watch movies at certain theaters for 1$. Maybe that still exists somewhere but not in my town
Yeah, you call the Movie line yeah I remember all that stuff. I grew up in the 70s so I got to see all of technology come to life and I got to pick from the best stuff. Thank you old World.
I remember getting the Friday paper, and about 4 pages from the back was things to do/ happening that weekend, including movies of course. I remember on a Seinfeld episode Kramer pretended to be the voice of show times of current movies. It was very funny.
I did use the paper for movie times, but I lived in a technology advanced town. My parents had internet at least by 1994, and our movie theater posted movies on a website. There was no google so we had a phone book but for internet adress’
U forgot to mention sneaking behind the dumpster to get stoned and then spraying ourselves with deodorant, that was always my favourite part of the movies!
My sister had to call a movie theater once, so she called 411 and screamed the word "theater" at the automated voice for about 5 minutes trying to get the local place and times. She almost smashed her phone into the wall when the automated voice asked if she meant "cinema."
In the 1980’s I WAS the voice over the answering which had to be re-recorded every Thursday night. And the beginning always started like this: (Over 40 years later and I still remember it verbatim)…….. “Thank you for calling the Valley Tri Cinemas. A Luxury Theater. We are located at 9360 SW Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway, in the Valley Shopping Center, next To Jesuit High School. Tonight we are showing…………..”
Or who remembers the party line 😂 welcome to the parttttyyyyyy like 😅 men I meet so many girls some hot some ugly 😏 you could talk to people from New York hawaiii it was like the instagram except woman would talk to you now everyone is on their phone but to be on instagram and get likes woman chance now days they think they are better because q bunch of simps follow them 😅 those simps think they have a chance with them
You were born in 88, the majority of what made the 90s the 90s you were too young to have experienced, you didn't become a teen until 2001, all these things would have been before your time, csapunch is more believable, she was born in like 83
I remember looking at movie times in the paper with my grandpa. Good times, simple times

Things we did in the 90s: pined over cute hazel eyed brunettes😅
Friday newspaper in the Arcade section. Movies, and concerts
We also called moviephone late at night so the call from our crush we were expecting didnt wake up our parents

Just as a heads up...that 90s mic you hold in your face all the time is suppose to clip to your shirt....or just upgrade your mic.
