Tbf, Gen 3 is one of the few gens where you can get away from running "Chinese" ev spreads because of how unique the interactions in this gen are compare to now, where everyone runs 252/252/4 spreads.
Vaporeon has the highest special attack of all water types in OU and UUBL. Not all that surprising its best use would be offensive, though subsalac baton pass is certainly quite the spicy set.
Has Iron Mugulis embarked on a journey of redemption? Will the power of nature and friendship set him straight? Have we been wrong all this time? Is there a larger lurking evil behind the scenes?
Im happy the fishdog still gets some recognition. It had pretty solid niches all the way to gen 5 only to get killed by power creep and then butchered by internet memes.
Vaporeon isn't just my favourite Eeveelution, it's one of my favourites of all time. It was the only Pokémon I could get consistently working back in DPP's Battle Tower, with Wish, Protect, Toxic, and Surf and I've loved it ever since. Always glad to see it carve out a niche for itself.
Roar on lead subpass vaporeon is also a very good option to counteract stuff like roar suicune. I saw mcmeghan use it on a cmpass team and it’s super good since you can cmpass to vaporeon and roar before the opponent and roar you out. The cmpass celebi is also a good switch in for lead zapdos since you’re dropping ice beam and using lefties with this set
I've been messing around with the Kanto eeveelutions in ADV recently. So far Vaporeon is the only one I haven't had a lot of success with and haven't played too much. Jolteon is a horrifying lead with TWave + Sub to throw foes' off balance. This set also helps reveal what Blissey set foes use. Flareon walls Moltres all day and punishes Starmie and Gengar with Shadow Ball and Wish. It also denied a +2 DD Sala sweep with Quick Attack. I knew Vaporeon had some offensive utility-- compared to Suicune, Milotic, and Starmie, it has the highest SpA, but most of the time we end up thinking "Wish Sub Pass." ...But what if we combined all three?
I actually used a vaporeon in fire red. I desperately needed a water type and I didn’t want lapras or a starmie since I’d have to grind a fair amount of levels to get starmie caught up. So I chose vaporeon. It definitely held its own. Plus it got a pretty solid move set early on.
@@hot-headedloosewire6878 If you’re going for stall the best nature would be a special def raising and physical atk lowering nature. Then put most of your ev’s into hp and special def. For a more special attack focus build go for a special atk raising and physical atk lowering nature. Put your ev’s in hp and then split between special atk and special def. A more aggresive rest talk set with Surf and ice beam are a good option. Hydro pump is a good option but Surf is the better alternative if you prefer reliable stab over pure power.
Vaporeon. This thing's been bad-mouthed on the internet like crazy, yet still eaks out a niche as a bulky water in a lower tier. Or here, an early gen higher tier.
TSS is usually outclassed by stealth rocks in gen 4, and there are a large amount of strong ground and steel mons in newer gens who just don't care about rock type attacks. 8 Ground Types in OU is a meme for a reason, and ground's been a strong type for a good 6 generations in a row now
@@andersolson44 Yeah, the existence of stealth rock warps the meta, and in a roundabout way, makes rock types worse. With stealth rock, rock weak pokemon are disenfranchised from the metagame, while pokemon who are neutral, or resistant, actively gain value. Defensively, rock types are also pre much just worse steel types, with the main types they resist being pushed out by stealth rock, similarly.
i used to baton pass with blaziken. bulk up, sword dance, hone claws, whatever i felt like passing with the speed boost. drain punch for recovery if needed
Yes, I think of it as a primarily defensive Pokemon. What else an I supposed to think. It‘s not like the internet has shaped it‘s perception in any other kind of direction.
That's cool but did you know that "Unfortunate" doesn't begin to describe my series, this game rewards blind luck and nothing else, I am beyond convinced at this point. After getting completely tooled by scheduling with my opponent changing times on me last minute and refusing to provide confirmation prior to the day of the match as to play times, losing this way somehow felt even worse than I had thought possible. My preparation was superior, my play was superior, and I lost, so I don't see a reason to continue engaging in an activity where what is within my control is overwhelmingly outweighed by what is not.
6:10 what is this lie? Every swampert is max spdef + max hp now way youre doing 75% on mixgross Mixgross cant kill blissey w/o booming. what are you gonna do about mence and dos? you need ice punch and you need boosting. AND you need the EQ. No mash? Yea right.
Hey guys, did you know that in terms of male human and female Pokémon breeding, Vaporeon is the most compatible Pokémon for humans? Not only are they in the field egg group, which is mostly comprised of mammals, Vaporeon are an average of 3”03’ tall and 63.9 pounds, this means they’re large enough to be able handle human d*cks, and with their impressive Base Stats for HP and access to Acid Armor, you can be rough with one.
Hey guys, did you know that if you gave Carbink Prankster, it is possible for it to force out Iron Mugulis? Carbink typically runs two sets, Stealth Rock and Iron Defense, both of which benefit from Prankster.
Truth be told, I don't actually think of Vaporeon as a defensive bulky water type... I think of it as an unfunny meme. I also associate it with Ice Beam; whatever you do don't do level caps in a FireRed Water monotype or you'll have to grind a Magikarp to level 20 to beat Misty and gamble it all on the slots for the Ice Beam TM in order to beat Erika. And don't get me started on the fact that Kabuto is only given out at level 5 in that game...

Iron Mugy was a shut in just like me?! Now I have to buy one of his clones and continue his outdoor education
this is insane
I honestly don't know what's more insane, a bulky water reinventing itself as a HO lead or the prize pool for ADV revival surging past $4k.

That makes sense to me. Being a mug is draining.

It was definitely designed that way, with its massive HP stat.
Not to mention it's utility movepool, and it's defensively oriented water absorb ability.

Is there any more solid records of Haunter being used as a 2nd Gengar? A video on that topic would be epic
I mean someone used duskull as a second dusclops in the adv revival tournament so its probably out there somewhere
I saw BKC use it in a vid once I think
In Stadium Rentals, Gengar is used as a 2nd Haunter, is that kind of a record...?
You really really shouldnt
Wolfy used a haunter and gengar once I think made a video on it as well

I really like vaporeon’s moveset
its like the safest counter to banded or boosted gyarados in dpp ou

"add another lead!"
