It’s called business. More demand means more people will shell out the money for the set. Or they’ll go to a secondary market such as brick link (which Lego owns) and doing so would still give money to Lego
People are only saying that the new Captain Rex mini figure that came out is only bad because a lot of people were angry because it came out in a micro fighter too, and honestly for someone who DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH TO BUY THE $600 SET I see this as a win.
It’s not that bad, but there are 2 things some Lego Star Wars collectors can’t stand. The hole that is not originally where to connect with the antenna and the Kama printing on the legs instead of giving us the actual Kama to put on the waste. To me, I give it a 8/10 and would just improvised it by adding a Kama to cover the printed one.
the only thing ppl can complain about is the ammo pouch being big and the kama bc ppl say JuSt pUt ThE HoLeS iN thE rIgHt SpOt. but then we wouldnt be able to use visors
You can swapped printed arms on the 2013 torso make it look way better though 2013 helmet should have been added in rex's AT TE set along wolffe p2 helmet somehow lego predicted rebels rex wasn't gonna have rangefinder
i made rex for cheap by buying the old rex torso and combining it with the captain rex helmet from CC and their captain rex accesory pack, the new one is so bad I rather just combine the old lego with CC
2013 pros: - ammo pouches small, has nice dirt marks, the weld line on the helmet is really nice, phase 1 visor Cons: - unnessecary tallies, no helmet hholes, mouth piece is small, no arm printing 2023 pros: -helmet holes, arm printing. mouth piece looks way better Cons - color isnt really accurate its a lighter blue, the helmet holes are too high for the rangefinder, the visor doesnt really look like a phase 1 visor , there are barely any weld lines and(this is personal preference but i love the dirt marks on rex).

The 2013 version is 100% better the range finder doesn’t need to be there it makes it look so bad for a set your paying 600 dollars to get
I love the 2023 one but I feel like his blue is too bright, its not the dark royal blue his actual armor is in the show but other than that I love it

The figure is awsome, the only downside is the printed karma but that can easily be fixed by just putting on a clothed one
